Title: Puffy and red eyes
Post by: JaX on March 31, 2009, 04:42:45 am
I've been experiencing really puffy (inflated) eyes especially in the morning. It is a visible puffyness. It decreases a little during the day but I feel it all through.
There are also a lot of small red veins all over the white part. The only time the white part is completely white is after I have been exercising vigorously.

These things are very clear when on the days I eat zero carb. But even when I have carbs in the diet it's obvious.

Ideas?

I get the same thing when i cheat. Cheating is any food other than meat and fat and water.

Eyes are a great area for the body to detox. I notice after cheating i get black rings under my eyes then at night i get crusty bits in the corners and stys taking the toxins out.

I have a theory that people like us (people who detox quickly and often violently!) are much better off in the long run.

I also get this symptom when I cheat(but not with raw carbs, just with cooked-food or alcohol).

that's very interesting. My eyes are still puffy/red and with black rights below even when I don't cheat. Maybe it means my body is still detoxing?

I forgot to mention that I also got those symptoms when doing zero-carb.

it may just be detox. You'll just have to wait until they subside - if you feel very slightly better afterwards, then it's a genuine detox.

Could also be hormones levels on Zero carb, like high cortisol.

Charles from zerocarbage also seems to have very dark spots under his eyes and he exercises a lot and seems to be doing well on ZC.

So I don't really know what it means with the eye puffyness/dark spots.

I don't feel like it's going away.. pretty much stays the same when I'm on ZC and gets better when I eat carbs (but still have puffy eyes).
