Title: Reducing biological heat created toxin levels

In addition to ingesting less heat created toxins (raw diet), what recommendations do members have for 1) decreasing production? and 2) increasing detoxification?

I don't have any 'articles/studies,' but it's my understanding stress increases endogenous heat created toxin production and exercise increases detoxification. Reducing stress decreases production, and exercise increases detoxification.

Does anyone else have any recommendations?

It's all about inflammation. Animals fed on highly unnatural/unhealthy 100% grain-filled diets will still have hefty amounts of AGEs(advanced glycation end products) in their raw meats after slaughter even if they never ate cooked foods during their lives.

Air pollution also causes inflammation. Heterocyclic amines(HCAs) and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons(PAHs) are not only byproducts of tar-pits but are also common( toxic) components of not only  car-exhaust fumes but also  cooked foods  and cigarette-smoke.

So,er, make sure you live in the deep countryside away from all pollution, whether via water or air, and make sure that your food is not only raw but also of high quality. Or you could follow the more unnatural example of the longevity-seekers/transhumanists who are constantly popping pills that are supposed to fight inflammation. I believe Kurzweil is doing the latter, more or less, as he wants to live forever.

Another vote for inflammation, which tells us when a toxin has been produced by the body's reaction to some irritant. Since the body's systems are so complex, it's useful to think of both the irritant itself and why the body reacted to it.

For example, in leaky gut syndrome, the ultimate irritants are the incompletely-digested food molecules, but the faulty digestion that created these molecules could have been triggered by the food itself, by fault of any of the digestive or non-digestive organs, by emotional distress, by environmental factors, etc.

Good advice.

So reduce stress, emotional included, reduce heat created toxin production.

Also air pollution.

And reducing inflammation.

I definitely think stress is a big one. I believe stress, emotional distress, raging emotions, etc. can be a huge contributor to increasing heat created toxin production internally, and probably also decrease detoxification.

Also: trying to avoid stress can be stressful. Example: worrying about environmental toxins when you live in a city.

I'm guessing that the stress quotient of not worrying about something is a mere fraction of the stress quotient of not worrying about anything at all.

The solutions are to be found somewhere in a middle ground approach, which does not separate the world from our self. The toxins from within are a reflection of the toxic environment from without. The presence of stress and worry is often an indication of some imbalance between the self and the world, and from this view the imbalance needs to be dealt with holistically. Not by simple obsessing over the minutia of fears and anxieties, but by pragmatically taking initiatives which would mitigate the harm of toxicity in all its forms from attitude to environment.
 
I personally chose not to live in the mega cities, not to drink tap water or plastic bottled water...I use shower filters, and air filters, wear natural fiber clothes washed with real soap...my work exposes me to extremely toxic materials, but I have learned to stay mindful and avoid unnecessary exposure, by using ventilation fans, wearing cotton gloves.

Even though so much seems beyond our control, there still is much that is within our power to control, for those who have become empowered.  Its up to the individual to mindfully construct ones own personal inner and outer environment without using toxic materials or toxic mental attitudes.

Application:
  • AGES toxins from eating cooked food in a social situation = 2 "I'm-going-crazy" dollars
  • Emotional toxins from worrying about "food issues" in social situations when you intend to eat raw = 186.8 "I'm-going-crazy" dollars.

It's true. The negative effects of cooked food aren't anything compared to the negative effects of worrying about it.

In essence eating out and enjoying a nice meal is fine, but worrying about it is the worst thing a person could do!

That's definitely relevant.

Is the external world really that toxic? Or is it out perception of a supposedly toxic world that's really toxic?

Like you said, kind of both. But I definitely think mindset is a huge factor. So not worrying about it, definitely reduces internal heat created compound production.

Maybe just calling them toxins reduces our resistance?

Mind over matter only works in minimal ways. There is the placebo effect, for example. It is just that I know a couple of  New-Agers who believe that they can solve any and all problems with the power of the mind, and one of them cannot even solve the problem of having type 2 diabetes while the other one is not doing well in gaining clients etc.
