Title: Ideas for all-weather dips
Post by: ys on March 20, 2017, 11:49:43 am
Leaving in Midwest I really miss ocean water.
I am thinking of getting a big barrel and fill it up with sea water so I can dip myself in it regularly after workout or sauna.
I would like to get it more saltier than sea water but not as much as Dead Sea.
I can get sea salt in bulk from the aquarium store.
My understanding is really salty water does not go bad since nothing can live in such high salinity and no need to change it frequently.

A 60" high barrel cost around $570 without shipment.

What do you think?

I am experimenting with saltwater myself in a different way. Presumably, because my ancestors mainly originated from a cold, dry climate, my nose is long and narrow, making it more difficult to breathe through my nose. I now use saltwater to remedy this as it is a decongestant of sorts. Some links I perused just now:-

I would be very wary indeed of adding too much salt to the water as that can easily cause nasty problems in the long term.
