Title: All sushi grade fish is farmed?
Post by: Pumkin on July 16, 2017, 10:36:01 pm
I've looked and called all local places that sell sushi grade salmon and tuna and it's ALL it's all farmed (Atlantic farmed).  Is it going to hurt me to be eating sushi grade that's come from farmed?

I did try some higher ends stores for wild, freshest they had,  -X it was so fishy couldn't eat it. I've been Researching this and it says to never eat wild salmon "raw", it's worse for you than sushi grade that's been farmed?

What's the deal on all the sushi grade salmon and tuna being farm raised, can we eat say 8 oz a day of this and be healthy or are they really full of bad fats and antibiotics etc...? What to do if they are, what fish can we eat safely raw? I really want to make raw fish work, as much as I try red meat cooked or raw doesn't appeal to me at all.

Basically, what happened to me was that the worst-tasting raw foods at first tasted better to me, with those raw foods richer in nutrients and richer in taste , such as raw, aged meats, raw wild game/raw wildcaught seafood/raw organ-meats tasting at first not very nice. As time went on, my raw tastes and raw instincts improved so that things changed and I found the latter raw foods richer in taste to be more preferable. 1 tip I can give is to start off choosing a huge variety of raw foods, each in tiny amounts. You will, at first, find only a  few raw  foods which you really like - make those into 90% of your  overall diet, and make c.9% of the remaining foods in your diet consist of raw foods you dislike slightly or moderately, and c.1% of the remainder consist of raw foods you really dislike the taste of(wash down with lots of mineral water, in the latter case, after each gulp). As time goes on, you will start liking more and more raw foods. You will never like all raw foods, and your tastes and instincts will change over the years anyway, so every few months, at least, try to change your diet and sources to maintain standards.
