Title: New extremist raw animal foodist sensation now available!
Post by: TylerDurden on May 28, 2009, 02:42:59 am
I recently saw an episode of CSI NY(crap I know, but I was bored). Interestingly, though, 1 episode stood out, rather. It featured a new sensation that has been appearing in some of the more trendy sushi restaurants out there. namely, "Nyataimori", or "naked sushi parties"! Basically, it involves  men eating sushi(usually with chopsticks only allowed, but sometimes using hands) off the body of a naked woman(well, all except for a banana leaf etc. over a certain area). Here's some info on the subject:-

Here's the only youtube video I could find on the subject(sadly it involves only women eating sushi off a naked man, rather than the reverse):-

I would never admit to watching either of those shows...

Those CSI's are unwatchable!

I agree that the acting in those shows is wooden(especially CSI NY and CSI Miami), the dialogue awful etc., but they do occasionally address some interesting new quirky topics I hadn't thought of. For example, 1 urban legend I'd always thought was true( a scuba-diver found in a burnt forest after a wildfire) turned out to be utterly bogus.

Lest people think I have no taste given the above CSI mentions, I should add that my favourite movie is Once upon a time in the west, I'm a keen fan of the films of Kurosawa and don't watch soap-operas and the like.

Re naked sushi parties:- One thing one has to admit, the recent raw animal food fad(well, mainly raw fish) still seems to be going strong, and given these naked sushi parties, is still capable of reinventing itself.  There's also that Japanese custom(recently introduced?) whereby people eat live, raw octopi. What I mean is it's now a lot more fun to eat out raw than ever before.

Surely you don't support this kind of thing?

1) Banana leaves are not paleo, they should use bitter leaves and lichen.
2) Paleo people would have eaten with their hands not some little wooden sticks.

I like quirky shows but also like those discovery shows like the 'Deadliest Catch' or I just finished watching the 'The Long Way Home'  the Ewan McGregor one and also just finished watching last season of 'Grand Designs'

I for one cannot believe that some people here watch TV. Did cavemen watch TV? Did they use the interest? No way! Using these things is not paleo at all!

Not to mention all the electric lights...any proper paleo diet excludes these.

I don't watch TV.  Been 7 years now.
But I'm never giving up my computer.  :P

I don't watch TV, either, strictly speaking. I just have a PC that can also play DVDs. That way, I can select only those dvds of tv series/movies  I like while discarding the rest. In my student days, I had a TV and, inevitably, ended up watching stuff on TV even when there was nothing good on(all too frequent an occurrence). So, I haven't had an actual TV set for a decade or so.

Restaurants you can eat raw fish off naked women, nothing wrong with that.  And if you work your way over to the bar, the drinks all come in the form of body shots.  giggity!

I did hear a phrase you can use in a restaurant to get a steak cooked like 10 secs on each side: "cold and on a cold plate."  Haven't tried it, I will next time I go out.

Back in 2001 when I was doing the raw vegan thing and living in San Diego there was a big vegan raw-foodist party where they served raw fruits on naked women.  I didn't go, but heard about it from the raw vegans I was living with.

I heard that Aajonus was there, and tried to do a little RAF evangelizing, and was ejected/left.  Typical Southern Cali vegan extremism. Also, typical Aajonus trying-and-failing.

When you think about it, eating raw foods off (clean)naked women emphasises the point that raw foods are not disgusting and filled with horrible bacteria, but actually very healthy, nutritious foods. It's all about psychology:- for most people, eating raw meat at home or serving it to guests is absolutely  abhorrent, but they won't mind eating raw fish in public at sashimi restaurants or raw steak tartare at russian restaurants etc. because they fondly imagine that those raw animal foods are OK as long as some appointed expert is in charge of preparing/selecting them.

Thanks for explaining that for me. My sister revealed that she has eaten steak tartar (raw steak and eggs) at one of her favorite restaurants, but she thinks its disgusting when I eat raw steak or eggs at home. I think the idea of experts doing something or recommending something makes many things acceptable to people that they would normally think of as bizarre or unhealthful. Plus, when something seems fashionable, trendy or popular, people will do it even if they normally would not. Eating raw steak in a restaurant is seen as "gourmet" and stylish whereas eating it at home is still considered disgusting.

With today's women, PRESENTATION usually matters.
With men... we usually do not care.
