Title: Trapped Gas
Post by: Carnivore on May 06, 2018, 09:32:48 am
So i know it seems like im having issue after issue, but i need some help.

After eating raw i get horribe trapped gas. I noticed this has happened to a few people here.

Would high meat correct this? Im currently making some.

I do get less gas when I let the meat sit out but last time I did that my spleen got swollen like it did when I first got mono.

Any advice? Thanks!

Use peppermint oil,  diluted within lots of olive-oil(minimum 1:10 ratio) in a warm/hot bath, sit  in it for 20 minutes minimum, and make sure that the stuff is put in the water  early and splash around so that the oil does not remain only on the surface.

Other than that, try eating less per meal. High-meat involves predigesting the meat before it even reaches the mouth, so, yes, that should reduce gas.Of course, this might be due to detox. Are you still consuming cooked foods as well? Not a good idea, in the initial stages of going RVAF, especially.

I ate cooked for the first time in 3 months yesterday, just to see how i would feel. While i dodnt have gas, I was heavily brain fogged and lethargic.

Would i be ‘detoxing’ 3 months in with minimal improvement?

There is the initial detox where one gets rid of past toxins derived from cooked foods. I spent the 1st 2-3 years eating almost 100% RPD(other than the occasional experimental cooked meal), and would experience a genuine detox approx. once every 2 to 4 months, lasting from 2 to 7 days in length each time, with the symptoms/frequency/duration of such episodes decreasing until they eventually stopped. After this, I have indeed had detox episodes but always after I cheated with non-RPD foods/liquids.

Try eating less per day(many RVAFers wrongly assume that if RVAF foods are healthy then the more RVAF foods they eat per day the better. Intermittent Fasting is also an option.

I eat once a day as thats the only time i get the chance to. I work 60 hours a week so i have to unintentionally IF.

Ive been doing raw off and on for about a year. Usually every 3-4 months ill eat a cooked meal to see the difference in how I feel.

Im not as brain fogged, but im definitely lethargic on this woe

If you eat once a day, have you considered that you might be eating too much at once? I used to have problems eating once a day, but eating the same amount twice a day gave me no problems. Although I only experienced gas with lean meat, it is worth noting that overeating on fat will usually result in nausea. So it might be wise to try to find some more time, so you can at least eat twice a day. Assuming, of course, that's the problem.

High meat, chewing your meat more, ACV all might help with digestion if the above doesn't work.
