Title: fruits with the least anti nutrients?
Post by: centropen on September 20, 2019, 03:34:42 am
before going zero carb half a year ago i was doing normal keto. ton of vegetables. it wrecked me. all my cravings for sugar and everything else have gone away, but my craving for fruit never left. i never ate fruits to begin with. im starting to feel like shit again now and my digestion is bad. i want to try eating some fruits but im scared of getting more of the toxins ive been trying to hard to get rid of. what fruits are the "kindest"? the vegetables that hurt me the most are broccoli (instant headache, fatigue) spinach (diarrhea, fatigue) salads and eggplants just disgust me. i think i may be sensitive to oxalates. what fruits are the easiest on the stomach? i tried eating a coconut, gave me liquid shit (fiber has always made me constipated). for the last few days ive been eating a slice of pineapple a day, cant say ive noticed any difference. cutting out carbs initially gave me my energy back, but that energy is once again gone. i never did zero carb because of the carbs, vegetables just kill me.

We RVAFers generally avoid many vegetables. Generally speaking, the vegetables with the highest levels of antinutrients are also the ones which taste the most bland or disgusting when raw(eg:- broccoli/kale/salads without sauces like olive oil or vinegar etc.). The vegetables use these antinutrients to discourage them from being eaten. No idea re fruits. I would suggest buying cheap, but organic raw fruits at first(eg:- bananas). See which ones benefit you. Eating fermented foods such as kimchi or high-meat will likely help digestion more. In the end, we are all different re genetics/health-situation   so we all have to experiment to see what works. That is why I suggested you try several different methods to see what works for you, as opposed to someone else.

but isnt there generally more toxic stuff in vegetables then fruits? and what have even been eaten before agriculture? egetables taste like shit, fruits taste good. and by banana do you mean those "natural" ones? because the hybrid bright yellow ones are waaay to much sugar.

I go by instinct. Even though modern fruits have far too much sugar compared to palaeo times, I would prefer eating raw animal fats as they provided a stable amount of energy over a longer period. I still eat some raw fruit, though.

As you said, way too many hybrid fruits and veggies out there. Many were bred to become bigger, have less seeds and contain more sugar. Apples, Bananas, Watermelon, Strawberries, some cruciferous veggies, even the bigger version of tomatoes, are all fake man-made unnatural foods. Same goes for A1 cow breeds such as Holstein/Frisian, which were created to have bigger udders to increase milk production. Chickens used to be much smaller until they got bred to look like they look today. The foods that were consumed when nature was still nature were, at last in my opinion, meats and fats, berries, herbs, maybe some nuts here and there and fungi.

Anyway, I once did some research of low anti-nutrient foods, that was when I had a lot of food intolerances and when I did my AIP diet. Personally, I would consider cucumber, summer and winter squash, carrots, artichokes, asparagus, onions, garlic and some fungi the most tolerable when you have lots of food sensitivities. Also some berries such as black and red currant, cranberries, blackberries are ok. In Rasperries the oxalate content is once reported as high then very low. Even blackberries are FODMAP. For nuts I´d say the least troublesome in terms on phytic acid and PUFAS are macadamia, allthough I have issues with them. I used to have big problems with nightshades such as tomatoes, aubergines and bell peppers, now I eat tomatoes on a daily basis. Once healed, your body can adapt to previously inflammatory foods. Same goes for meats, Pork has lectins if not cured or put in an acidic medium, lamb is high in histamines, salmon can cause other issues, aged beef and meats are high in histames. Once you healed your gut you are able to eat foods that are known to have anti-nutrients. Even Li Ching-Yuen, the guy that lived to 256 years or longer reportedly ate goji berries on a daily basis, and these are nightshades. So, once you have a strong microbiome, I think your bacteria adapts and you can eat anti-nutrient foods without issues.

thanks for the detalied replies man, appreciate it. squash makes me feel like shit, same with broccoli. oxolate intollerance? asparges and artichokes i can eat fine, but i just dont understand what they could have to offer that organ meats dont? lamb being high in histamines would explain why i felt horrible after eating a whole bunch of it. can tolerance to hitamines be increased? and what the safest and best way to improve gut micro biome? also why do you think garlic is healthy? i dont know about the nutrition of garlic but all my senses tell me its pure poison. it tastes horrible, burns, and gives me stomach cramps. isnt it a bad idea to eat things that taste bad, especially things that burn? (spicy peppers onions etc...) also i thought most of these vegetables were just as man made as hybrid fruits?

What squash? I find that summer squash like zucchine is turning me down, pumpkin and butternut I like a lot. I used to think that I crave broccoli, but it turned out to be a "fake" crave. Problem with asparagus and artichokes is that they have a high fibre content. That can cause issues for some ppl, I stopped eating them. Organ meats are for sure better, allthough they contain purines which can cause problems for some people. But to eat them you need strong stomach acid and if urs is weak then some veggies can be easier on the digestion. As far as I read histamin intolerance can increase but also decrease. I used to have problems with lamb, now not anymore.

I think to reset your microbiome properly you should do what you like the most, fasting ;) Garlic and onion indeed can cause stomach cramps, among other issues, but they also contain sulfur which for some people can be very important. Another thing is that their compounds can kill parasites, that´s the main reason why I ate it. Also onion is more gently than garlic, garlic can sometimes be an overkill. Sometimes bad things do good. I find that with bitter herbs, they can help a lot allthough they taste shitty. I do sometimes want to eat/drink spicy peppers or tabasco. Many years ago I used to drink tabasco, i was so appealed by it. Maybe because I had some parasites that I wanted to get rid of. Also, one needs to look at countries like india, where they eat a lot of spices. I am sure its beneficial for them as their hygiene standards are pretty low and parasites are definetely an issue there. So eating spicy foods and herbs counteracts that. One thing that you could try when you are bloated is to drink water with a bit of cayenne pepper in it. I found that this almost immediately helps against bloating. I am certain that this action kills parasites which are holding on to the cell walls of, lets say the intestines. So by drinking this solution they "fall off". IMO and experimentation parasites can cause bloating, among food intolerances. And to kill them a dry fast would be the most efficient.

Yes, most veggies nowaday are hybrids, but they also have their benefits.

fuck, just wrote a huge reply and i accidently closed the window. Either way, Ill try to keep it short now cuz i don´t feel like writing everything again. Among the ones that I tried are and found most effective are the "heidelbergers 7 kräuter stern" and the "maria treben schwedenbitter from ihrlich". Both are famous in the German herbal "world". Both can fix many health issues. Schwedenbitter amongst raw goat kefir and the "hildegard von bingen maronibreimischung" gave me extreme emotional positive reactions. I first I cried then I laughed for several minutes. It was an insane. It was certain that my body loved those. you can find the dosage for both on the internet. If you still have question you can ask. The schwedenbitter are an alcoholic tincure (non alcohol available but less effective I found) and the 7 kräuter stern are 7 herbs mixed together that you can either put in a tea or have a knife pínch under the tongue to go directly into ur blood stream in the morning. Both were very effective for digestion and both should not be taken for too long. Especially alcoholic schwedenbitter. I took it the wrong way and used it undiluted and it caused my blood pressure to raise unnesssecarily. The only thing that I would find more effective, even for the long term, is ayahuasca with an experienced indigenous shaman. And maybe certain medicinal mushrooms. But so far I have little experience when it comes to fungi. But I think they are the key to almost, if not all, disease.
