That's inspiring.  I'd like to try living on my own in the woods, but it's different in a climate with four seasons and being a woman.  Also I hear the US Bureau of Land Management and the Park Service are cracking down on people who are using the wilderness for a residence...

Thanks for that.  She grew up with those skills, though. 

What surprises me most is she was allowed to return to being a hermit after being in the hospital, according to the article. 

If that would have happened in the US, we have what is called the "County Agency on Aging" and they would really pressure her to live in an assisted living facility.  I could get into the money-taking scam that assisted living facilities are.... I hope to be in a different country when I'm elderly.
