Title: Eating non-organic/factory raised meat?
Post by: pc701 on October 16, 2009, 07:36:56 am
Hello, i interested in going primal/raw....i am currently on the "optimal diet" by Dr. Jan Kwasniewski.

I am afraid that if i eat non-organic/grass fed meat....in other words factory farmed meat that i will get sick because it has harmful bacteria and that grass-fed/organic has none harmful bacteria

Is this diet safe/is it still recommended, if you do not have access to natural/organic meats?

I've never been sick eating factory farm beef or lamb raw and the taste is still pretty good. I would avoid chicken though. I ate some raw chicken and had huge amounts of mucus for a week. It also does not taste good.

It's better to eat raw grainfed meat than cooked grainfed meat because you won't be taking in heat-created toxins but it's extremely important for you to get hold of grassfed or wild meats to speed up healing. I've heard of a few claims re people recovering after consuming raw, intensively-farmed meats but I don't recommend the practice - there's also the fact that intensively-farmed meats generally taste really foul when raw so it can be difficult for people to stick to such a diet in the long-term.
