Title: Organic Pasture Raised Chicken and beef short ribs
Post by: kurite on April 11, 2010, 12:51:54 pm
Hi the chicken available to me is organic pasture fed...does this mean grass-fed? Are they interchangeable? Also I can get beef short ribs for $3.50 American per lb. This is really cheap. Is most of it bone? Is there marrow inside? Is it tasty and fatty?
thanks

Short rib was one of the few meats I didn't really react to as a kid.  It's all coming back to me now, instead of my memory painted all bad about meat back then.  It has a good bit of connective tissue.  I used to suck on their cut bones and eat any marrow.

Chickens don't eat all grass.  Where I get milk, the chickens like jumping the fence and picking at bugs all the time, except when they see me there.  They come up by my side and hang out taking a break from constant eating.  I think pasture fed chickens means live bug fed (hunted bug fun), whereas cows rip out chunks of grass and don't particularly go for the bugs.
