Title: Head Lice
Post by: miles on March 19, 2011, 09:43:54 am
What do Paleo people think about head lice?

Is it possible to increase resistance to infestation? What are good body-friendly ways of banishing them once infested?

For how long have people been becoming infested, what did they used to do, or did it bother people at all? Are healthy scalps and hair unsuitable for lice?

Seeing as detached nits can apparently no longer hatch, and head lice can apparently live for a maximum of 1-2 days off off the human head: How do outbreaks seem to start out of nowhere? Are some people not bothered by the lice and act as symptomless carriers?

Etc...

(These questions come as I coincidently developed a feverish illness and a head-lice infestation after sleeping in a shelter I made, the bulk of which was constructed from an abandoned hay bale I found - the first time I'd ever used this material; previously I'd only used leaves.)

Stress makes lice and mice worse, quit your job if it is your source, it'll save your life.

Also clay works well for this, put some in your hair and let it sit and rinse and it'll help.

Also organic sea buckthorn oil google it for demodex mites possibly you could have too and lice possibly too.

Have your significant other use a flamethrower. Hell yeah
LoL for real though... Use clay and or mud, and if that does not work shave it off.

=/ I've been in the process of moving towards full hair, letting it grow.

Hey Techydude how do you mean stress makes it worse? Do you mean because it weakens your immune system or what? You think the lice etc can only become a problem if you're weak?

When you say clay will help, how do you mean? What does it do?

Actup: How does Clay or Mud work? Have you done it yourself?

Not only does stress weaken the immune system, but for some reason when the immune system gets weakened and when we're stressed, demodex mites (you possibly have) and lice can thrive/increase in numbers, such as how good bacteria decreases and bad bacteria increases in the gut when stressed/low immune.

Stress is a powerful thing cause the brain is the controller to the body's system and when you fuck with the controller shit's bound to fuck up.

As for clay it has great detoxing abilities and lice hate dirt, and mud, clay = their kryptonite. Kids who roll around in mud and wash less have a less risk of lice. Also stop shampoing and wash your hair less and only with water, you'll transition and experience oiliness but yeah it sets over time. Soap = unnecessary and poison and worsens it. Green clays edible clays internally and you can mix the clay with water and apply it to the head like grease or a mask: http://www.greenclays.com/

Garlic internally helps, 3 cloves raw a day chopped up and mixed with food cause its too spicy on its own, let sit 10 mins before consumption and go for it. Treat lice like a parasite, it kinda is, and try LC VLC or ZC whichever works just limit carbs as carbs and sugar weaken the immune system.

Also organic sea buckthorn oil, you could have demodex mites too or it could just be mites, but the oil wont hurt: http://www.jashbotanicals.com/articles/demodex_folliculorum.html http://www.lifesvigor.com/seabuckthorn-seed-oil-10-ml-sibu.html

And most importantly reduce stress: Cry, scream, punch, laugh , hit , have fun, go out, quit your life draining or depressing or angering job, go out , do whatever makes the stress go down and what will get these emotions out good or bad and what will make you happy. Your life > stress, your life > a job that you hate. Move somewhere else if the city's stressing you or wherever you live. Get away from toxic people and/or family, move out, or get away. Stress is the worst thing ever.

Try everything to solve this dude!

Techydude's words are wise.
I take back the "shave it off" nonsense.

Clay might pull some of the eggs off, if not it will at least provide a coarse environment to scrape them off.
Noxious plants like HOT peppers might work internally but I think internally AND externally would be ideal.
Garlic would also be a great choice, being a hot fatty food.
Apple cider vinegar... anything you would not want to live in. Grind it up and start with small amounts.

My mother got lice in her childhood and did not have to cut her hair at all.
I think she used topical drugs though, so if all else fails you could do that.
You would recover from any damage they could do, being on an excellent diet.
Maybe just a headache.

Head lice?
Just use powerful head lice shampoo.
Ask your hair dresser.

Yeah that too, but I always saw those anti insect/anti lice poos as much, but if it kills it then sure.

In our local markets we have special combs for lice.
Very fine.
You need your hairdresser to do it for you to comb through your hair.

You then gather the lice on a table and roll a bottle on them and hear them pop.  Great fun.
