Title: Rabbit starvation, good for diabetics?
Post by: Roselene on April 11, 2011, 07:35:59 am
Please explain how, why, if or whether eating only rabbits and no other foods is adviseable people with diabetes. This is for a relative who is trying to get another to go on an all rabbit diet.

If you get the whole rabbit and eat it raw, a good amount of fat can be found. Also being either wild or game animals they are going to be healthy. If the person feels good eating only rabbits there's no problem.

Someone on another board tried this not long ago trying to replicate rabbit starvation. It didn't happen.

There shouldn't be a problem with them eating solely rabbit. Specially if they're wild animals like miles says.

no Rabbit starvation was the term coined for when for instance Inuit, could not get the large fatty animals they were used to and would survive for a while on small lean animals such as rabbits. This would make them unhealthy because they weren't getting the required quantity of fat in their diet.
