Title: Bodybuilder Looking To Go Raw
Post by: AJW91 on May 11, 2011, 10:25:45 am
So after these two internet radio shows:

http://www.superhumanradio.com/super-human-radio-show/420-raw-food-as-effective-as-anabolic-steroids-in-building-muscle.html

http://www.superhumanradio.com/super-human-radio-show/440-raw-food-follow-up.html

I'm interested in going raw. But I have no idea how to start.

So I know where I can get raw cow's milk and I think I can also get raw goat's milk. Are raw brown eggs from the supermarket okay? I think I can get good raw beef and lamb if I find a butcher, right? But where can I find raw vegetables and fruits?

And what are some good recipes for raw meat, eggs, and fruits and veggies?

What the animal eats is vitally important.

Cows eat grass not grains and byproducts.

Pigs eat a variety of things including fruits, veggies, meats, small animals, etc.

Chickens Are essentially the same as pigs but more grain allowed.

Goats eat grass and leaves not grains.

Turkeys and most fowl the same as chickens, lots of variety.

Fish should be wild caught, not farmed.

You will at least need to go to a co-op for this, but if you can find your local weston A price chapter leader they may be able to point you to pastured meat, eggs and dairy.

Avoid buying anything from the supermarket as they almost always provide only low-quality foods. Get raw grassfed meats from grassfed meat farms delivered to your door in bulk or buy such from farmer's markets nearby. I am personally not bothered abiut buying nonorganic fruit, these days, but others go in for buying organic fruits, which are available in some supermarkets.

Raw eggs are best bought from pastured/grassfed chickens. otherwise, they are rather low-quality food, really, even when raw.

I took hold of Randy Roach via his website. I paid him for a consultation via skype. I did not get any information that I could not pick up by going over the threads here. I paid to get 'the straight dope for bodybuilders' in a bulk and I got that and a plan to follow to my satisfaction.

Its not hard tho. EAT! I chuck down 10-20 raw eggs a day and eat a half to a whole kilo of flesh. I go for oysters, Fat fish, Red meat, dont touch pork and wont eat chicken raw (the texture is nasty).

One fo the key things I always recommend to RVAF diet newbies is to read through ALL of the posts made on rawpaleoforum or the rawpaleodiet yahoo group(and other RVAF diet groups like the livefood/RAV-Food yahoo groups/(closed) primal diet). While some of the posts are useless, the rest, altogether, provide very useful info that one mostly has never thought of asking about).

Has eating raw had an effect on your lean body mass?
