Title: Fish is helping me get off dairy
Post by: Waldpfad on October 23, 2011, 03:05:28 am
When I asked how much milk everyone drinks, someone mentioned scallops for magnesium.
Needless to say I bought a ton of fish, including scallops, at a Co-op 120 miles from here and I absolutely LOVED the 'dry' scallops!!!
My fish products lasted about 6 days total, eating fish 2x a day...never felt better. The scallops tasted sweet, totally amazing!
I did not have a milk craving for the entire time of eating fish, even had 3 quarts of milk (out of 5) still sitting in my fridge by the end of the week.
As soon as I ran out of fish I craved sugar! WTH. I have binged on sugary stuff (raw honey, raw ice cream with maple syrup, fruit and back to raw dairy) ever since I ran out of fish and gained 4 lbs back, haven't had a bowel movement and am utterly bloated, GAH!

Next shopping trip I will load up on seafood like it's going out of style. Bought pork belly, a kidney and 2 fatty steaks today, too bad I'm outa duck eggs. 240 miles total for duck eggs is outragious! lol

But yeah, I am thinking that fish (especially scallops and other shell type seafoods) is going to make it possible for me to be weaned off dairy gently. Bone broth kills fish cravings, because the minerals are all present. Bone broth triggers milk cravings.
Fish kills dairy craving for whatever reason.
Milk feeds sugar addiction so it prevents you from raiding the kitchen.
If I eat fish and kill the milk addiction, I also won't need bone broth because fish has minerals and bone broth would kill the appetite for fish. Bone broth also seems to make me acidic and shortly after I crave milk.
I started my own journal so I can observe what the heck is going on and reading on these forums sure has helped to make a LOT of things more clear.
Ok, done ranting... ;D

Good luck with your seafood experiments.  I eat about 1/2 pound or more of scallops daily, plus about 1/3 pound raw fatty wild-caught fish, usually sea bass.

dairy can definitely be too calcium heavy and shift your bodies proper cal.mag ratio
magnesium is super important for all functions and systems, bones, energy, and to help you poo
whenever i really crave magnesium i eat a TON of mallow leaf, which helps, its considered a weed so perhaps easier for you to source, i also dump a ton of dried dill weed, seriously a 1 to 1 ratio with liquid into diluted yogurt or broth to hydrate it and eat that....
good luck my friend, remember moderation is definitely part of the equation

Dairy products are extremely addictive. Aajonus is a prominent victim in our raw food world. I find raw dairy even more addictive than pasteurized dairy.

Fresh raw coconut cream and coconut milk can be very helpful in the 'weaning' process, IMO.

Why do you say he's a victim?

I just saw a video from Underground Wellness that states that A1 milk is the one that has an opioid effect on the brain.
It instantly made me research goats milk since that is what I've been drinking by the gallons per week for the last year and a half. Goats milk seems to be A2, but I think the guy at UW is wrong in stating that only A1 milk (mutated milk proteins) are addictive, because I would've thrown a major fit a year ago if I would'nt get my Quart of milk a day or more.

Nevertheless, my theory is also that growing up on ultra-heated/homogenized 2% A1 milk in Europe is what gave me a 39 year long addiction to milk...and it just carried over to the goats milk. Finally, having filled the nutritional needs that I didn't get when I was born and fed Ersatz milk, I maybe craved the raw milk to fill that need. Either way, I am glad my body and brain are finally working with each other and not against each other...and the weaning off will be quick and easy.

I've never considered a diet high in seafood in the past because of, ya know, mercury, arsenic, other toxins and the whole fish scare coming from CW put the fear in me that fish more than once a month is unhealthy...DOH!
I'm 50% Fin and all this seafood might actually be freakin' good for me!

Thank you all for all this informative advise :-)

The whole A2 scam got started by a dodgy New Zealand company that wanted to make a huge profit out of the whole business. Not worth bothering with, IMO.

opioids are amazing
why wouldn't nature make babies addicted and sedated with by milk?
lettuce, esp romaine, also contains opioids
it's the sap and the bitter in the stem/core

Why do you say he's a victim?

He seems to be in constant trouble and the cause is very often raw dairy, legal proceedings and other unnecessary quarrels, one after another. Nobody needs raw dairy to become healthy. Raw milk is a well-known and well-documentated cause of human health disasters. Hollywood raw foodists just don't want to see this reality.

BUT, and this is the second important aspect about raw dairy beside addiction, you need dairy to PUMP up your body as fast as possible. The distorted views about healthy body compositions are really a big problem in the US and Europe, IMO.

So far so good staying off dairy. I fudged up once and cooked something in the pan with butter instead of bone marrow. I gotta say since cutting out dairy I am kind of repulsed by red meat..quite odd. I am still on a high amount of fish diet, added tasty and odd carbs (to me odd) like fried pumpkin and boiled cauliflour, then fried in bone marrow with my meals. I also bought some chestnuts (for a change in taste) with my meals for awhile to keep my focus off milk.

What I've noticed so far is that my boobs have gotten a tiny bit smaller and feel less heavy. I have a little bit more room in my bras. Also, I don't feel like I need a nap after lunch anymore (which I always tried to fight off anyways)...as long as I keep the meals low glycemic and only consume mineral water with them.
Oh and 1 more thing, I haven't had a bloated belly since dropping dairy.
So, tiny improvements so far only, another ~3 weeks to go on the No-dairy-wagon to complete my 30 day challenge!

that's true he seems to be involved in a lot of legal action for raw dairy, ....even though he probably eats a healthy diet, all that stress of legal problems probably isn't healthy either. I like how he's standing up for what he believes in, but even the healthiest diet doesn't totally cancel out the effects of other lifestyle factors like proper sleep, exercise, and low stress. didn't Aajonus say that he only sleeps 4 hours a night with a 1 hour nap in the day? Seems like a very low amount of sleep...maybe that's why he sounds so irritated all the time. or maybe it's the dairy that does that.

Av does recommend fish in place of dairy for some health conditions.

As for no red meat when no dairy? I've considered that before. I think it makes sense. I do better with (raw) white meat anyway, and if I lived somewhere without cows, I'd have no (cow) milk nor beef/bison etc.

Yes, I find that he always sounds very desperate.

Too little sleep, too much stress, too much protein, dairy addiction, honey gluttony, CSI abductions and whatever else..
