Title: Coming back
Post by: boxcarguy07 on November 16, 2011, 02:35:46 am
Hello all!

I am an old member of this forum... looking to become a member of the community once again!
I see the forum is going stronger than ever, which is good.

nice to see all of you!

i took a long break, as i explained in my last post before i left, because i felt like I was "thinking" too much about food, felt like it was taking over my life.

While I've continued to eat raw meat throughout this time, i've also eaten quite my fair share of SAD foods as well... also haven't been exercising very much. lately I've been wanting to get on a better track so i though getting back into this community would be of some help.

Hi boxcarguy07 and welcome back,
I kind of did that too, went off a raw diet for almost two years. I just came back a week or two ago. Feels much better, but I totally understand what you mean about thinking too much about food. On the other hand, biology fascinates me.
My aim is to have three square meals of raw food a day and forget about the `act of eating' in between.
Cheers

I find that eating a fairly low-carb diet tends to help with that.  All fruitarians can think about is food/fruit. Low-carbers don't have to eat as often, spend less time eating, and don't have to think about food as much.

Yeah, one of our low-carbers, Lex Rooker, seems to think about food less than just about anyone. He apparently sees food as just energy/nutrient replenishment rather than entertainment and seems to have found what works best for him, so he doesn't have to keep changing or tweaking it. He eats food like my old-fashioned grandfather used to--he just puts it all into one mix and gobbles it up quickly so he can get on to other things. It's also the way that kids eat meals when they want to go outside and play or, more commonly nowadays, get back to their video games.

True, my lunch salad is as many vegetables as I can find all chopped up and mixed together, as much as I can put down the hatch in one go. It doesn't taste either great or bad, just food-like. That's the way I need to always eat.
At the moment, however, I'm studying how low, calorie-wise, I can go and still remain functional.
Maybe I'm spending too much time around food related topics, but there is no greater study than the study of the human body. Its the greatest, most complex and least understood gift that anyone has ever been given.
In my opinion, anyway :D
