Title: How we slaughter an organic native chicken step-by-step with pictures
Post by: goodsamaritan on December 01, 2008, 12:16:56 pm
I will show in pictures our cook and my mother in law’s cook slaughter an organic chicken. Last Sunday we were out in Carmona Cavite and beside the highway they were selling native chickens. Great opportunity! My cook and I were just talking about how we wanted to be sure about the chickens we were eating were healthy so it would be best to buy live chickens so we can assess their state of health and slaughter the chickens ourselves so we can also be sure about the cleanliness of the method.
Thanks for the compliment, I think we are able to slaughter our own chickens because our maids are provincial folk who grew up slaughtering their own chickens. The ducks will be next. I'll have my cousin slaughter the ducks. I'll go to the goat shop next and document how they slaughter goats.

Yes it was very good. The whole family was raving about the cooked chicken too. My wife had the cooked blood to herself. My mother in law was looking for the cooked liver, but I had the liver raw and she didn't want to eat it raw. My wife also got curious and had 2 unlaid egg yolks which tasted much like regular egg yolks but you had to bite through a thin rubbery membrane.
