Title: meat storage without electricity

Say if shit hit the fan and I was in the wild, bare-bones without electricity and I killed a deer for instance. How would I store meat for future consumption?

salting? drying? bagoong? This is what our fisher folk do.

Turn into smoked tapa is what our mountain folk do with their wild pigs and deer.

Bury it deep, where it's cool.
Eat high meat.
Find a cave and hang it for tenderizing.
