Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Re: Questions for Carnivores
« on: July 26, 2008, 06:06:08 am »
During my zero-carb trials, though, I did notice that my need for water  GREATLY increased.

Completely opposite what I expected, I'm really surprised. Was your meat free of nitrites?

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Questions for Carnivores
« on: July 25, 2008, 04:20:01 pm »
Couple of questions about the Carnivore diet:

Q1 How much water do you drink or do you metabolize it from fat?

Q2 How many of you eat adrenal glands? I remember from the warrior diet Ori said they were a good source of vitamin C, but I think I've also heard they can cause similar effects to Coffee, i.e., overburden, ultimately burst one's own adrenal glands?

I think if you've got access to nature nothing beats rock climbing.

Otherwise, or additionally, you might find something at dragondoor.com They put a lot of emphasis on the benefits of strength training over bodybuilding, and they have a limited range of martial arts and qigong material.

Ugh, sorry the 6 - 9% values were grammes, though from another site peking duck with skin seems to be around 60%/40% fat to protein in weight.

Actually, does "80%" refer to grammes or calories?

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / 2 questions about fat

1) What is the threshold percentage of fat to protein that prevents rabbit starvation? Today I've been looking at the fat content of Fish and Ducks, and they're like 6% to 9%, about 10 times less than the 80% fat promoted by Aajonus.

2) What's the deal with rendered suet? I thought this was the "raw" paleo forum :) Does the saturated fat not oxidize? What about the omega 3's? Why not just dry it along with the meat?

General Discussion / Re: natural vs. technology
« on: July 19, 2008, 04:03:24 am »
I seem to have two sides to my hopeful thinking, one is that doing everything naturally will solve all problems and the other lies in technology.

I have similar thoughts, but I wouldn't have learned about raw paleo if it wasn't for the web, the pinnacle of human technology. I also think ultimately it should be possible to manufacture the perfect human food, but still the energy has to come from somewhere.

You don't believe those water splitting machines work then Satya?

...

I'm often inspired by the great minds of the past; and then discouraged about how they were usually killed or banished in some way.

I've followed a lot of leads in the alternative science area, read forums like overunity.com, absorbed the ideas of people like Lindemann. At the moment the only authority in this area I trust is William Lyne, author of occult ether physics and space aliens from the pentagon. He focuses on Tesla inventing the electromagnetic flying saucer and the history of its cover up through the intentionally misleading staged debate between Skeptics and UFOlogists. I highly recommend his books to anyone interested in this area. An interview he did with an ex Disney animator is up on youtube, unfortunately the audio quality isn't very good (selecting always use high quality video in youtube's settings should help):

Sorry this is only the first part (1/9), I tried to make a text link but it shows up inline.

It would be nice to take a trip to their natural habitat and taste the food they eat. I think their main staples are nuts and raw figs.

Still no replies concerning the second edition so I'll take Tyler's advice to begin with. Thanks.

Primal Diet / Which book(s) should I buy?

Hi, I'm about to purchase one of Aajonus' books online but I don't want to buy both of them if I don't have to. Which is more comprehensive - WWTL second edition or TRFLWD?
