General Discussion / Do you wash fruits you have to peel to eat?
« on: November 17, 2015, 04:40:49 am »
Do you wash fruits with thick skins you peel off

Banana, Avocado, Lemons, Limes, Oranges, etc.... Do you need to wash these before consuming them? I don't eat the peel/skin obviously but. Any reason to wash them before peeling? Pesticides, etc...

Ive read all about food combining and sequntial eating. (chinese, broscience, bullshit or fact based truth?)

I find that worrying about order of eating actually makes me more stressed out! but anyway.. answer if you can understand my terrible typing and way of wording questions  O0

Now, I totally understand that certain food DO combine well with othes.  Eating some salad before my steak always felt right to me.   But is there any reasoning to eating foods in a certain order.  A paleo man or woman wouldnt give a flying f word about what and when he ate or in what order would he/she?

Lets say at a single meal you have:  Steak, Sweet Potato, and Asparagus (just for example)
In food combining or more so "sequential/order of eating"  you would want to first eat the asparagus, then the potato, then the steak.  A la the "order of digestibility"  according to the length of time it takes certain foods to digest.  (animal protein being the "hardest to break down)
So my question being.  Does this make any sense?   Personally when I eat I am going to take random bites out of whatever food I want at whatever time I  want to vary the taste and texture.  A bite of sweet potato here, a bite of asparagus there , some steak, etc...  Does anybody eat in order? or eat one food item competely before moving on to the next?  Is this all broscience and pseudoscience?
Explain

General Discussion / Fear of high Oxalate Foods
« on: October 12, 2015, 03:39:11 am »
I tend to eat quite a bit of spinach.  I don't eat only spinach but I do eat it quite often in salads and occasional smoothies.

Then all of the sudden I started finding these articles about the high oxalate counts in spinach, swiss chard, dark chocolate, etc..

Now Im a afraid to eat spinach.  Do the benefits outweigh the oxalate danger.  And are oxalates even dangerous?  is this a myth?

Ive also read multiple articles about oxalates being beneficial and necessary for proper digestion...  Any thoughts?

General Discussion / When to eat fruit?
« on: September 04, 2015, 09:20:31 am »
Is there a specific time fruit should be eaten in terms of healthy digestion?   Does anybody with no digestive problems follow any rules of when to eat fruit or do you eat it whenever  you want?   Such first thing in the morning, by itself,  not after a meal, etc...

Lately Ive been getting a little away from anopsology but still try to do it alot but thats besides the point

Alot of my friends consume alot of raw eggs and have been trying to get me to consume more of them for year... I have read up alot on raw eggs being good for longevity.... explain this to me?

why are raw eggs such a good food and do you agree with them being a good food to eat every day?

I have been making some smoothies with wild dandelion, wild blueberries, half a banana and 2 raw eggs everyday and it makes me feel  really
satisfied.

So lets discuss the benefits of raw eggs and why they are good for health, longevity, etc..

General Discussion / Eating a Hybrid Food? OKay?
« on: June 12, 2015, 01:18:54 pm »
I am trying to eat my foods as close to the wild varieties as possible but am wondering about somethings that I love

Sugar snap peas are a cross between garden peas and snow peas and I love them.. Is there anything wrong or bad with
eating a semi hybrid food like this?  I'm starting to think that while eating wild is great certain hybrid foods are fine and beneficial for you
as well as tasting better.

Or an occasional honeycrisp apple?

Health / Cyst disappeared? WTF?!
« on: June 06, 2015, 07:38:41 am »
Not to get graphic but... For like 4 years I had this pebble sized cyst on my actual left testicle. Not on the skin but an actual little pebble feeling hard little nodule on the testicle itself (i think the doctor say it was an epydidimal calcification/cyst)... I did absolutely nothing different except... I started drinking apple cider vinegar like it was going out of style.....because somebody told me to try it to help digestion before
my cheat meals.  (i sometimes cheat on my raw/paleo/health lifestyle when I go out with friends)
Then I started drinking it randomly just because.  Big a$$ glasses of it too...

I usually do not believe in these ancient remedies but what the hell?  Did this work?  The cyst I had for multiple years reduced in size by 75 percent and is now damn near gone.  And I cant even feel it anymore.

  (sorry for the graphicness)

General Discussion / Are we more adapted to certain fruits?
« on: May 30, 2015, 05:25:54 pm »
say like the fig which is long part of our evolutionary history..Chimps, gorillas, bonobos all primarily (when it comes to the fruit part) eat almost all figs.

Are we more adapted to eating them and benefiting from them as compared to say...
plums, apples, and berries, etc..?  Or does it not work like that?

I love plums, pears and wild blueberries, and, most berries for that matter... but from what I recall I did really enjoy figs unless they were not ripe yet when I ate them... End Rant

Any thoughts on my random thoughts lol?  O0

General Discussion / Men wiping after they pee?
« on: March 27, 2015, 07:05:11 am »
Okay So I have OCD. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I have a fear of a lot of things including urine. My fear is that by not getting every drop of urine out of me and off my member that It will some how be bad for me or contaminate my wash machine or something..I know sound crazy, but this is OCD

I USED to pee, press underneath my urethra by my but, use a milking motion to draw the urine out, shake it off, then dab the end of me unit with a Kleenex or square of Toilet Paper. This would live me completely dry.
After a while I started feeling anxiety because I was concentrating to much on this when I went pee. And it was also kind of Emasculating. Now My question

I stopped doing this and it causes me much less anxiety. I just pee, shake it once and zip up. I know I probably have some dribble in there(in fact I know I do). I am young so its not a lot, it doesn't smell and I wear dark boxers so nobody knows. Is this okay? I am a perfectly healthy male and I feel like it is normal for a guy to have a little bit of urine down there. I also use less TP and Kleenex now obviously.. Sorry for the topic ladies.

General Discussion / Do you wash your Organic Fruit and Veggies?
« on: February 17, 2015, 10:12:32 am »
Ive asked this question before i think but thought Id ask it again.

Do you wash your fruit and veggies if they are organic?

I get mine all from the local farmers market that uses no pesticides.
My tap water smells like a swimming pool and its full of chlorine.
Should i be washing them in it or maybe spring water, distilled water....etc?

Or stick with what Ive been doing and.... not washing them

General Discussion / Is wild food actually healthier?
« on: August 10, 2014, 04:52:06 am »
A buddy of mine is convinced that eating wild food that grows naturally around the area you live in is healthier for you.  Is this true?

He also talks of local foods being better and being in tune with the season but....

things like kale, and broccoli , and bannanas are not even really real... They are artificially selected foods made better by humans.  Is this bad or is this just mumbo jumbo.  because I pretty much eat all the organic fruit and vegetables regardless of "artificial selection"

Instincto / Anopsology / Can eating raw or instincto cure herpes?
« on: July 22, 2014, 01:18:56 am »
I know this beautiful 23 yr old girl whom I went to grade school with.  My close friend even dated her for 4 yrs.   She had told me that she has herpes of the mouth and genitals since last year and it has ruined her life.  I feel so badddd  her! She had no outbreak when I was speaking with her so I can see it is always on her mind.   She is beautiful one of the most popular, nice, kind hearted people I have ever met!   I told her about the raw diet, and eating instinctively and she said she would try anything at this point but she obviously was skeptical. I want to help her but I don't want to push this information on somebody without truly knowing.   I was wondering if you can give me any information you have on the subject

General Discussion / Why we eat what we do.......?
« on: May 27, 2014, 02:51:46 am »
Why do eat foods like melons, berries, coconuts, kale, cucumbers, broccoli, apples, etc…
Why don’t we eat foods that are in the rainforest like are closest relatives do? (chimps, bonobos)
Would we know longer find the leaves, figs, stems, roots, twigs, and various medicinal plants they eat appetizing?  Explain how evolution has affected our diet, why we eat what we do and if we should be eating other plants  from periods of our evolutionary history.

I wonder why we selected certain foods to grow and cultivate over other foods.  Why kale?   Why spinach?  Why Basil?  Why Cilantro? Why watermelon,  Etc…    Why not random plants from the rainforest ... Are we cultivating the right foods?

General Discussion / Adaptations to certain foods? Good or Bad?
« on: February 20, 2014, 07:51:21 am »
It is said that 95-100 percent of Native and Asian Americans are Lactose intolerant.  While only 2-15 percent of European Americans are.  This is most likely due to the years and years of evolution and adaptations.

Now.. Are these adaptations good?   Are we becoming super humans?  So my thought process right now is......

Are these adaptations good or bad for Humans?  Are they making us more intelligent?

« on: January 22, 2014, 03:50:08 am »
Okay so Im in my second week of all raw foods! I'm using anopsology but that is besides the point.

My questions are.. How do you go about choosing the healthiest produce.  I want NO toxins or pesticides in my food!

and

How do you guys go about washing off your fruit and veggies?  I tend to just rinse them under my tap water!  Should I invest in a water filter?  and what is the proper washing technique for various produce!!!

Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / Native fruits ,vegetables, and greens. Midwestern
« on: January 15, 2014, 10:30:19 am »
Im trying to find some links or books on wild native fruits , vegetables and edibles in the midwest and all over the US. but right now i currently live in the midwest (Northern Illinois)..

I kind of dont agree with eating fruits and vegetables that werent growing here originally.. Not that its unhealthy but Im just trying to become connected to nature and the original native foods!

Where can I find a list of native edibles for different states or regions?
