Just wondering if one can buy already prepared high meat i.e the aged eggs or  fermented fish in a market to save having to do it oneself?

What is everyone opinion on us wellness pemmican? Is it that much more expensive then to make your own. The convenience of not having to make it is attractive. thanks

General Discussion / Re: underweight
« on: October 14, 2009, 03:08:18 am »
Thank you everyone for contributing. It means a lot especially coming from a place of ill health. The debate for me is exactly as what is being discussed whether to get calories from fat or carbs. I intuitively feel fats is the way to go and I know I actually feel better when I am not eating carbs (i.e fruit maybe honey would be better because no fiber or bulk?) but do struggle with consuming fats in any reasonable quantity. Again thanks and any advice is welcome.  Take care all....                                    p.s. if anyone has a magical weight gaining formula let me know:)

Has anybody had success putting on weight eating this way and what worked? I love eating this way but find fat hard to digest and and it is limiting my calories.  All  I really crave is meat and fat but find when I eat fat I feel like crap so I am frustrated. Is there any fat you find easier to digest? Thanks for the guidance:)

I have not gone or had the urge to go for over three weeks. My appetite is the best I can remember and I have no discomfort but being severly undwerweight and having a history of chronic constipaion would anyone suggest helping things out with some herbs just to see? Or should I just not worry about it. I when was on regular and raw vegan i had severe discomfort and problems with constipation  and bowel desease.

Thanks....

General Discussion / abroad in spain for 3 months need help!
« on: July 24, 2009, 05:55:19 am »
I am abroad in spain and the meat is a lot more expensive and they consume a lot of pork. I have found 12% ground beef but the quality I can tell is not great and 12% seems very low and I am hungry all the time. I am trying to see what people recommmend to eat beef I am limited to this ground beef $$$ so I can perhaps add raw pigs fat to it? I can also just eat raw pork this is much cheaper or (raw chicken but not very filling)? I did find rendered duck fat but it is cooked> Anyway if anyone has any suggestions or knows of some interesting things to try I am game or even an online resource for europe to order food ito southern spain. Also there is a lot of raw fish but I dont know if it has enough fat i.e types of sadinies.  P,s I need to gain weight that is why I am intersted in adding calories or fat plus right now on my ground beef 12% I eat a abpound and I am hungry angain in 2-3 hours Today I ete over 2 kilos and I skipped to meals to study. thanks you infintely I cant believe how my appetite and digestion is beginning to improve eating this way and it is because of you guys keeping commited  ....

Let me clarify I am talking about about eating raw animal fats of variuos kind if I eat the fat first which I love the taste until I get that obvious signal that I have had enough it doesn t work because I feel so sick after so now I am nervous to eat fatty meat. The only time I dont feel bad after a raw meat meal is when I eat very little fat which I know is questionable because I am quite well versed through readiing hours of this site, the bear, and other raw paleo resources that fat is essential. I love fat and I want to eat more of it but my body is just feeling so sick afterwards it is very frustrating. Also my appetite is very low and I have very little energy. Just trying to figure whether to be patient and give this time and just deal with what I am experienceing or to add some fruit for some energy and calories? I prefer to just eat meat and fatty meat but its not worth feeling so tired and sick after a fatty meal?

Thanks for all your replies and support..

I have zero trouble adhering to this all meat diet in fact I love every minute of it the problem I have is that I am underweight with a history of digestive challenges and  I simply cannot tolerate a lot of fat I love it but the after effect is I am stuck in bed and nauseous for the reminder of the day and miserable. I just assume this will take time and for now just be gentle and allow my body to adapt. The last thing I tried was a raw vegan diet so i know that doesnt help the situation. Anyway just want to hear anybody else experience and advice. Is it ok to just eat leaner cuts for now and what kinds I know chicken breast and liver are not the answer. Also I dont do well nibbling through out the day I feel best with a light afternoon meal and reasonable dinner. Otherwise just listening to my body and staying relaxed but any comfort you all can provide would be great. I look excitedly upon the day I can eat a 24oz  ribeye with no ill effect or even a simple 8 oz hamburger patty:)

Take care and infinite thanks:)

p.s. also please feel free to pm me your experiences
