Health / Re: Fragrance sensitivity.
« on: February 21, 2016, 07:51:44 am »
I came across an interesting text.

In it i quote

"The people who were born in the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s tended to drink and smoke. They had teeth extracted, root canals and metal fillings, yet they are generally not the chemically sensitive individuals we see in our population today, young people in their twenties who can’t handle even a little bit of lavender scent in the room."

I dont know if he means that old peoples way to live in the 20s, 30s and 40s made the young people of today such as myself sensitive to chemicals, or that the way they lived made them strong against them.

I've always got wheezie when someone sprayed alot of perfume around me. Then some time ago i noticed when i tried to make some flaxseed gel for my hair, i put in some lavender essential oil in it, my eyes got all red watery, and my nose started to run.

Then today when i washed my hair (i only wash it once a week) i put some conditioner in it (usually only wash with water). After it dried i my eyes got burning, red, watery, nose started to run, i got whoozie and my scalp was intching.  Sometimes with some soaps and laundry detergent, i get red skin rashes from.

So i wonder if anyone have knowledge about this? Is there anyway to get stronger against it? Or how can i smell somewhat good?

Found i video that was interesting.
I haven't checked the facts but at one point it says you can feed a carivore massive amounts of cholestrol and it doesn't effect them, But it you give it to a herbivore(rabbit in this case) it developed heart disease.

Here's the video.

I'm not trying to put down the paleo diet, just intressted in your view/opinion on this subject.

Thank you, will try some pineapple. When i think about it i usually have a real craving for fresh pineapple. Never thought to eat what i crave in it's natural state actually.

Gonna look for the Flowers of sulfur. Is it just Yellow sulphur or is it any special kind?

Just becouse my digestive issues i've become real desperate. I was over for a meal at a friend who was at the time eating LCHF. I noticed that it became an actuall pleasure to go to the bathroom after. And i've also stumbled reading about some people online who was doing better on LCHF. I also thought you had to eat a low carb diet when eating raw paleo?

Did you move to new servers or something?

To be honest i'm eating a very mixed diet..

Been trying all kinds of diets (got problems with digestion) No sugar, no milk, no gluten, LCHF, diet. Read about someone who had somewhat the same sympthoms as i, and solved it with Eliminating grains, starches diary and peanuts. Odly he can eat oatmeal with no problem. I've never tried eliminating all these at the same time so i'm gonna try that.  LCHF works for 1-2 days and my digestion is fine but then is comes back slow and steady.

I cook for a whole family so it's hard for me to go all raw. Especially when i'm so thin i quickly loose weight if i eliminate all carbs. I'll get a chance when going abroad this summer tho.

Never had any illness and rarely get fevers/colds as a child. But at 15/16 years old my digestion problems started. 23 years old right now. Feels like a man in my age shouldn't be tierd like this all the time.

I'm outside roughly 1,5 hour per day. I live in a small town so i dont think there is much pollution going on.  Manganese i've actually never heard of, gonna check for those sulfur flower at the health store. Tried all kinds of pills (Magnesium, Omega 3, Vitamin D3, B12) with no success.

Thanks for all the replys.

In the morning it's usually the worst. I get up and it feels like when you have been under a blanket and the air starts running out. Like i'm out of breath. I always sleep with the window open so i get air inside. I've tried going out for a walk when i wake up, but walking up a hill is almost like if i've been running. I'm about 130 pounds at  5,9.

This stays with me the whole day. It dissapears sometimes and i usually get better at night time. But not always.

If someone could help me out with this i would be greatefull.

General Discussion / My teeth are bent outwards.
« on: May 21, 2015, 05:07:58 am »
after going around with my jaw open/teeth not together my toungue has been pushing my teeth outwards. When i was little i also was addicted to sucking on a pacifier.

So my teeth look abit like the picture to the left here:

I wonder if there is something i can do to get them back in like the picture to the right. They are pretty straight and well formed. It's just that they are bent outwards. Well my upper front teeth is abit far to the front, resulting in my lip pouting outwards. I've been starting to have my jaw closed with my teeth together.

I've never been able to bite something off with my front teeth. For example i had to bite off spaghetti with my tongue pressing against my upper front teeth.

My digestion has gotten alot better. Been eating something to a LCHF-diet, most things raw, but with cooked fish/meat.

Had a littlebit of raw miced beef. Was pretty good actually.

Before this i often had loose stools, so called million-wipers. And i always got a urgent feeling to go to the bathroom.

Now it sneaks up slowly. But my stomach is very hard now instead. Alot better than being loose, but i'm at the point to constipation i think. Only hard lumps. I wonder if it's becouse i dont drink enough, or not eating right?

I ment bringing food for the whole trip on the plane.

So if you go travelling, you go mostly vegan? I'm planning to go on a trip with a camper. Will not have a fridge, only a cool bag to go. I will go to some remote locations with no stores, also small towns with just supermarkets. Well i dont even know when going into a big city in a foreign country how to get ahold of quality meat. I dont want to spend my travelling days looking for where to buy food all day.

Just wondering.

Going to a dinner at a friends/family house? Sure you could bring your own but if you are visiting someone over the weekend? I like to travel. Is it even possible to do that with this diet? It isn't that easy to find a butcher that quickly that has good meat or even meat available. There aren't special stores in every town. Do you guys get sick on every trip if you go travelling? You can't exactly get a couple of pounds of meat on the airplane. And if you are travelling by car you would have to have a fridge installed that drains electricity/fuel.

She did some test awhile back and had signs of borrelia. So she got some antibiotics for it. She has had a problem with depression and have been taking SSRI's, but quit them 4 months ago. I can see the depression is comming back abit, mostly due to stress at work i think. Did some blood test that showed Vitamin B12 deficiency and Iron. She got some pills for that. Also low value of white bloodcell count for along time. The iron is better so she has stopped taking the pills, tho she still have very bad Menstrual symptoms. Bad cramps, alot of bleeding, stomach problems and strong PMS.

Got abit confused about the oils. She takes coconut oil right now, with squeesed lemon tea and to some food. But i've red that the candida can get used to it so you should change to grapeseed oil or garlic oil. Gonna try to eat much Sashimi.

Okey sounds good, i were looking for a good dressing to have on the sallad and i guess i can have that olive oil with turmeric & black pepper in it.

Which is the best way to resupply the gut with probiotics then?

Thanks for the great reply. Now i can start going down the road. I got some Probiotic pills with Lactobaciullus Plantarum. Or should i look for some other probiotic supplyment? I've heard femented foods are not good for curing Candida overgrowth such as sauerkrauts. She drinks coffee from now and then, not a coffeholic but a couple of times in a week. Should she get rid of that?

So, basically start on a LCHF diet, then progress to somewhat rawfood. with probiotics.

Well she has agreed to have a change in the diet to cure it. And then change her diet to somewhat Low carb diet if it takes care of her problems.

So i'm looking for a cure, i've read some posts here. Some say all meat diet becouse plants contribute to the candida, while others says only eat cucumber, tomatoes and lettuce for a while. I dont know for how long this is supose to take to A: show improvement and B: cure it.

I would be very greatfull if someone could lead me in the right direction for this.

I guess "normal" cooked diet.(Potatos made in the oven, with some cooked chicken and a sallad for example). She has got in her head that meat is bad for her. She also eats and has sweet cravings numerous days a week at night.

« on: February 24, 2015, 07:57:43 am »
My wife has many of the symptoms of candida. (Feeling tired and worn down or suffering from chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia, Digestive issues such as bloating, constipation, or diarrhea, vaginal itching, sore and dry mucosa. Strong sugar and refined carbohydrate cravings). She's not overweight. Has been on anti-biotics sevral times. Last time a few months ago. She does not eat paleo or raw. As she is very sceptical to eating raw meat i would need some help becouse i've seen people here have had problems with it. Fermented foods will take a long time to have her try. Slowly easing in to it.

So i'm asking for a cure that's not too "weird" for her. So she can begin to defeat the candida and then slowly progress to a paleo/raw diet. I dont know how long it takes to get this over. She has had problems with her vagina since early teens. (No STD's, already checked). Or if it can be something else than Candida.

Great information. Will try slowly with magnesium sulfate, and try get ahold of some Magnesiumchloride.

Magnesium deficiency? Can be more to it than just Mg, but Mg is rather certain and very important either way, and is also easy to identify (with the use of epsom salt or magnesium chloride, taking one of those would identify if it is Mg deficiency or not in a few hours or faster).
I've had Mg deficiency symptoms for years. Was very similar (on and off for years) to what you described.

Thanks for the reply. Will try that. I got some Magnesium capsules at home. It contains magnesiummalate, magnesiumcitrate, magnisium lactate, silica. I also got a bottle of magnesiumsulfate, but the container says it's laxative. And i sure dont need that.  ;D I dont know if these are as good as magnesium chloride, or epsom salt? How much am roughly supose to take?

General Discussion / Store bought fermented fish.
« on: February 21, 2015, 11:01:21 pm »
We got surströmming here in sweden. It's fermented fish. (You can check it out at wikipedia).
Comes in a can that you can buy at the supermarket. I wonder if this is any good to eat as high meat? Being canned and all maybe it takes away the good bacteria?

Health / Feel weak, naussea, out of breath during day. Better at night.
« on: February 21, 2015, 10:52:18 pm »
I very often feel nausseus and weak during the day. It becomes hard to have my arms above my head, I feel like i can't catch my breath. Almost like i've been out for a run but i'm not gasping. My head feels heavy and slow. Can't think clear.

I can eat in the morning without much problem tho. But then the nassuea becomes worse. I've had this for years more or less. This holds on until maybe around 20:00 then i get more energy. I usually sleep around 8 hours every night.

I'm a 22 year old male. Around 122 pounds at 5.7 feet. It feels like a young man is not supossed to feel like this.

Welcoming Committee / Can i eat frozen meat for a newbie?
« on: February 11, 2015, 08:31:11 am »
I got ahold of some lamb meat from an organic farm. They were raised on grass and apples  ;D
Since i'm just starting this, i froze some of the fat around the liver and kidneys. I also froze most of the meat i got. I once tasted some raw store bought lamb, but had a hard time with the wool taste. So i figured i wouldn't be able to eat it all before it went bad. So now it's in my freezer waiting so i'm wonder if i can eat it raw? If yes, do i just let it defrost in room temperature in a bag?

Got two more questions.
I actually really enjoy the taste of ground beef. Only tried storebought tho(live in a city so it's hard to come by good meat).  The question is, is it any worse to eat grounded meat? I dont know why it tasted so much different than some raw roastbeef i tasted that had a pretty bad taste. The grounded beef had a kind of a sweet taste to it.

Third and last question. I ate a bunch of cooked  -[  pork a couple of days ago. Looks like this uncooked: My girlfriend doesn't like the fat on them so i ate hers too. (I'm not fat, rather underweight) I got really nauseous afterwards to the point i had to lay down in bed not to throw up. It is easy to say it was becouse it was cooked. But i'm looking for a more deeper answear to what made me sick.  -v

The pictures made a shiver through my spine.

Is there any way to prevent this for us raw eaters?

General Discussion / Re: Getting a butchered lamb! What to do?!
« on: September 25, 2014, 03:37:07 am »
Got the intestines today, heart, kidneys and liver. The farmer told me to rinse them first. I put them in the fridge. The liver in one box and the heart and kidneys in one.

Should i have the lid on? I can see a bit of blood coming out of the heart laying on the bottom. Should i dry that out?

My girlfriend is not into this raw thing so if i keep them in the fridge. Will she still be able to cook them after a long time?

To be honest, touring the suet didn't make me hungry.. :)
Dont know how this will go. Well worst case i will have to cook them i guess. I tore the suet in little parts and froze them in little boxes, do i need to rinse that aswell? Also what should i start to eat? I'm new to this and the liver and fat seemed like the worst. Gonna get a few more hearts so thinking about smoking them so they will keep.

General Discussion / Getting a butchered lamb! What to do?!
« on: September 24, 2014, 09:39:49 pm »
Well i ordered a butchered lamb and i will get heart, liver, kidneys and fat. It will arrive soon. I've never tried this raw meat thing before more than eating some steak tartar and eating some raw beef. I dont really know what to do with all the meat and intestines? Hang/store it in some way in the fridge i guess but how long will it be good for? I dont have a very big fridge and i've heard freezing makes it taste worse. And i guess i will have my troubles with the taste in the beginning, so making it worse wont be good. Weird thing i once ate a raw lamb chop, wasn't bad but can't say it tasted great. Then i tried cooking it quickly on the outside, wich made it turn blue on the inside. I thought it would be more juicy like a stake but it made it taste worse and i couldn't finish it.

So and tips on how to store it and how long it will be good for?
