I just started with the high meat thing not too  long ago but it is actually very amazing and rewarding as you said... lol.. its true the more adventurous the better. Each time I'm aging things longer and longer and always eager to try new things. I just finished some high duck meat that was pretty amazing! I got high chicken on the go now and just started some beef today.

Health / Re: adrenal problems
« on: April 23, 2015, 05:54:37 am »
In my opinion I'd say, take tyler's advise on this one, especially where he mentions yoga & meditation. I was diagnosed with all kinds of stuff (including ADHD) and was prescribed anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, uppers, downers and all kinds of crap. (Not to mention all the non-prescription drugs I was using as well). It took me years to get off (and stay off) all that stuff and that was before I started connecting the dots between mental health and diet. (so in some ways you have the edge on me).

For me one of the biggest factors was spirituality (however you get it). Personally yoga & meditation has helped me a ton. It really seems to me that there is a huge connection between mind, body and spirit. If I keep my body and spirit in order my mind seems to work itself out.

Also a big thing that's helped a ton with fixing up my adrenals and getting rid of sugar & caffeine in my diet. (they are both very subtle stimulants that can wreck havoc on your adrenals.)

Thanks guys!! I got into my goats head today using a small hatchet and scooped it all out with a spoon, pretty amazing stuff. I actually didn't even mangle the skull to bad either.  :D

LOL... I love how side tracked this forum can get.... how have I been getting by this long without you guys?  ;)

thanks for the suggestion ys. I had some major success this weekend.

When I started this diet I was already eating everything as rare as possible because I would get some pretty nasty indigestion otherwise. So I just figured, they are my kids, maybe its the same for them. So I gave up on cooking all together and take your advice with ground beef & pork this weekend. These kids have never eaten so well for me. I just mixed the ground with some suet & back fat chopped finely and some raw egg & made meat balls with my daughter. She couldn't get enough and my son ate well too!!

Amazing ..lol.. I was starting to think I had some how raised a couple of vegetarians before this weekend.

So far I haven't found an animal, bird etc. I don't prefer to eat raw.... I think the advantage to eating smaller critters like chicken, fish, rabbit etc. is the price. They are often much cheaper and can make my beef and pork go further. The advantage to pork itself imo is they are a great source of some amazing tasting fat. (and lots of it)

The funny thing about this whole parasite thing is the only person I know that got worms was my son and that was on a average Canadian Diet not from eating raw meat.

Thanks again for all the answers so far... I have another question though. I have two other children 7 & 5 years old from a previous marriage and they are pretty fussy eaters. They're mother doesn't eat much meat or feed them a lot either and is not on a raw diet at all (more of a gluten free diet).

My son the youngest one does like raw meat (he has eaten, fish, beef, chicken, organs etc.) but he has a hard time chewing it (he does really well with fish though as long as i take the skin off for him).

My daughter is just grossed out by the idea of eating raw meat but doesn't care for it cooked all that much either.

I've been trying to cook it rare for them but even that isn't going too  well. With everything I've tried I'm thinking raw is the way to go but they are used to an average Canadian diet (ie. covered in sauces and stuff).

So what i'm thinking is maybe cut the meat real small so they can chew it better and some kind of raw sauce to make it palatable... any suggestions?

Thanks for your replys eveheart, I find liver the same way. I haven't been doing this too long but I have experienced what your talking about with to much raw liver. I love liver but yeah at one point I ate so much I just couldn't do it for awhile so that makes perfect sense. Thanks a ton JeuneKoq too, that's some amazing info. I've been doing this myself without internet so all this info is so helpful because its not just me now.  :P

LOL!!! Thanks for the reply's plus all the extra info on x-rays & ultrasounds!!  :P

It's pretty amazing to know others are doing or have done this as well... Any ideas on feeding new babies after they ween. I mean I started with organs mostly, would it be the same for a child?

And... does anybody know about this whole Vitamin-A thing? I have been told organs especially liver can be harmful too a growing child... Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

Welcoming Committee / Hi!.. and some questions??
« on: February 22, 2015, 06:40:03 am »
Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself and ask a few questions, I'm a complete newb at this site and have only been eating a basically entirety omnivorous raw paleo diet for like 8 months or so... but I actually joined the forum because I have a some questions about diet concerning my girlfriend. She's been on this diet for years but is apparently 4.5 months pregnant.

The first question is that normal to have so few signs of pregnancy (ie. morning sickness etc.) on this kind of diet?? Also has anyone actually done this???... Like, go through the pregnancy and then raise a child on raw meats?? Any pointers that could lead us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if any of this has been answered before...and thanks in advance!
