I agree...unfortunately you can't make enough money in farming. We would hope to at least break even. Raising livestock and growing certain vegetation is definitely a good idea.

It seems we're all in similar financial situations that would require jobs on the side, but I still hope we can get something together for the near future.

General Discussion / Organs and Muscle Meat
« on: August 17, 2010, 05:49:12 am »
Is it ok to mix organ meats and muscle meats in the same meal? Also is it ok to consume a different organ on one day and consume another the next (different meals)? I'm trying to avoid eating too much.

General Discussion / Bone Meal
« on: August 15, 2010, 07:10:27 am »
Is bone meal necessary to gain bone density on rpd or is raw animal products + raw plant food enough? I can't imagine needing bone meal given that it requires machinery to make it into a powder for it to be edible. This wouldn't have been around back in the day.

Is raw manuka honey truly the best honey to have? Seems to be the one that sticks out about the rest.

Should one mix vegetables to juice or are you better off keeping one vegetable to a  juice?

I've just recently gone completely raw and my eventual goal (probably in late Fall) is to got completely zero carb. However, for now I'm looking to get some plant food in via juicing. What are the best vegetables to juice to complement raw animal food?

Exercise / Bodybuilding / Losing too much body fat/weight?
« on: August 09, 2010, 09:28:56 am »
I'm beginning to weight lift on the RZC diet (which I just started) to put on some serious muscle. I already view myself (as well as my family) as being too thin (I lost a lot of fat but gained no muscle) and I'm concerned I'll lose too much weight. Have any of you had trouble in terms of losing too much body fat or weight while on RZC or Raw Low Carb? Is there a way of preventing further weight loss and guaranteeing weight gain (especially muscle)? I don't want to look emaciated/anorexic.

General Discussion / Best Organs to eat outside of Liver and Heart?
« on: August 07, 2010, 11:46:02 pm »
I ordered some bison from North Star Bison and I wasn't sure which other organs I should add to my diet outside of the heart and liver. Outside of those 2 organs, they sell: tongue, kidneys, adrenals, pancreas, thymus, thyroid, and spleen. Should I try to incorporate all of these organs into my diet?

I found a website that sells and ships fertilized eggs because I can't find them anywhere. Would these eggs be ideal to eat raw? http://www.chickenhousesplus.com/

I think having 4 seasons would be ideal. Always stuck in Winter or Summer would get boring.

I share the dream of one day owning my own farm as well and making a small business out of it. I'm a recent college graduate with a crap load of student loans unfortunately, so I need to find a job that will pay them back before I can move onto a farm that has nothing to do with what I studied...though college was still definitely worth it.

I would seriously consider going in on running our own farm somewhere in the US (preferably on one of the coasts) or perhaps Canada (British Columbia)  because land is a lot cheaper. It's hard to find raw paleo eaters out there outside of this forum, thus, we need to come together and start something up. A farm dedicated to raw paleo...we can definitely make this a reality if we work on it together.

Any truth to this?:  http://www.chem1.com/CQ/ionbunk.html

Also, do water Ionizers take out all the chemical in the water such as chlorine? I will be willing to spend the $1500 if it truly is the best way to drink water outside of the spring. Can anyone recommend a particular brand?

Has anybody had milia (white heads/skin tone bumps/clogged pores) go away when you've switched to raw animal products? I have a lot of bumps and white heads on my forehead that I was originally told by a dermotologist would only go away with surgical removal (popping it with an extractor). If I switch to raw foods, should I expect these clogged pores/bumps to reside on its own or should I go to the dermatologist to get them "extracted"?
