So if plant foods are becoming less nutritious because of the increase in carbon dioxide; what does that say for animal foods? Does that mean they are becoming more nutritious? Makes sense to me. What do you think?

This video claims it's the increase in Co2 that is causing our food to become less nutritious more so than the depletion of the soils from the use of chemical fertilizers. If that is true than why does food grown with organic mineral supplements like fulvic acid make it taste so good?

I made a batch of salmon oil mayo yesterday. At first taste it was nasty but I'm kind of getting used to it.

Just came across this video of a guy that sells tripe smoothies in his booth. The guy he made one for said it wasn't bad but only took one sip and didn't finish it. I think they are gross but I feel incredible when I take them. I settled in on making mine with Worcestershire sauce and find it's the best way to tolerate them.

I also noticed he only blended it for a couple of seconds. I think he used the honeycomb tripe which is much easier to blend, the kind I use requires a full minute and a half and it's still stringy.

I notice my skin is much clearer when I do the tripe smoothies and just don't feel right when I don't take them.

Science / Re: Veganism and lower IQs

When I was a vegetarian for 15 years I always ate plenty of eggs and cheese. I only lasted a couple of months when I experimented with a vegan diet.

I watched a similar video years ago. It was told to me that this was because cooking food got rid of all the taurine in it which is now added to all cat food. Cats can not make their own taurine just as humans can not make their own vitamin C. Not sure if I believe it though.

Also: I got the lowest price from Piping Rock by googling ( piping rock monolurin ). They have a countdown timer that ticks down from 30 minutes with the sale price but don't worry if you google it again the next day the timer starts all over. The other two brands are lowest on Amazon.com

I've been using Piping Rock brand because I was ordering 10 bottles at a time for 5 something dollars a bottle  and 5 dollars shipping. Theirs is a fast release (coconut oil extract) formula.

The original brand of monolaurin is called Lauricidin (probably named after lauric acid, the main effective compound found in coconut oil). Instead of capsules this stuff is formulated into coated pelets that are supposed to get past  your digestive system. I've never tried them.

Instead of lauricidin I ordered a cheaper brand called Ultimate Monolaurin which should be here in about a day or so. The price is comparable to the piping rock brand but you have to order a 21 oz tub to get that price.

The reason I am trying the pellets is for a more sustained release. In the past I've only used monolaurin when I was feeling bad and it's always kicked the crap out of whatever I had after a few doses but now I'm aiming at possible viruses that live in the joints near the bones which are much deeper, so maybe a slower release for a more sustained dose might work better. I've always been afraid that taking it all the time might reduce it's effectiveness and keep it from working, similar to the way antibiotics kill the original form of pathogen and allow it to mutate till they no longer work.. Hopefully this is not the case. I was a caregiver to a woman who got prescribed antibiotics like they were candy. She died from an infection that they would no longer control. I haven't been able to find any information about this happening with monolaurin but that doesn't mean it can't happen!

So far the higher doses of monolaurin seem to be working for my backaches and joint pain...

Hope this helps!

Salmon oil mayonnaise?

The idea just popped into my head. I've got tons of salmon oil laying around in my refrigerator!

For anyone interested I am taking around 3 grams of monolaurin 3 times a day. I am experimenting so I don't know how long I will be taking it at such a high dose.

I've been taking monolaurin occasionally for many years but only sparingly for colds, etc. This will be the first time I've ever taken it in such a high dose for a long time. Normally I just take it for a day and whatever I have is gone; but as they say. Cold sores are only skin deep but arthritis goes clear to the bone; so I imagine if it's going to work and this isn't just an unrelated temporary reprieve that I'm going to be taking it for a long time. I'm wondering... Will I build up a resistance to monolaurin similar to the way people do when taking antibiotics? I sure hope not. I haven't been able to find anything suggesting one way or the other on the internet so I guess I'll be the guinea pig.

If anything I am doing too much exercise and I am totally holistic! I am doing high doses of quick release monolaurin and it seems to be helping. In the past I have only taken monolaurin for colds and flu like symptoms. Oh yeah it also helps with cold sores.

I think it also helps with rheumatism and arthritis. It seems to be helping my aching joints and a few of the comments on Amazon also concur. I've also read that arthritis could be viral so it's possible that my backaches are too. It also seems to be helping with the aches and pains in the ankle of the foot I broke. I didn't break my ankle I broke the fibula and tibia, in a motorcycle accident in 1984; but the ankle hurts way more than the break does these days from being immobilized in a cast for 2 years. I wasn't expecting that to stop hurting from taking monolaurin.

I ordered a big giant tub of the slow release pellets of monolaurin and am going to try taking it that way for a more sustained release.

I've been wondering lately if mine and many backaches could be viral. Started taking monolaurin, an antiviral supplement for it and it seems like it's working. Normally I only take monolaurin if I have a cold or flue like symptoms; but I might just continue taking it for backaches. Can the cause of backaches actually be viral?

I love reading stories like this. Reminds me of the one about Andrew Gaff that you posted. I wish I had some pictures before and after my diet went to mostly raw organ meats. I still eat raw fruits and vegetables but my diet is mostly raw meat. About half organ and half muscle meats. I consume all my organ meat in the form of raw smoothies and my muscle meats either raw or lightly seared.

I gave up eating raw tripe smoothies for a while and just started back on them. I've really noticed a difference. I consume about 5 oz. of tripe with each smoothie.  I think next time I'll pack the bags a little lighter, making them 4 oz. I guess I got carried away 'cause that's what I usually do. That way I can have 2 tripe smoothies a day. I try and have at least one smoothie of each organ meat and usually have two of liver.

I seem to be packing on more muscle since I added back the tripe smoothies. Funny. All this time I thought it was mostly due to the bulls ball smoothies. Probably both or all of the above: tripe, liver, thymus, bulls ball, heart and kidney, which I also stopped taking and probably should start up again.

Hot Topics / Re: Anyone Ever Made Natto?
« on: August 08, 2019, 09:37:56 pm »
I honestly don't  know.

I stopped doing natto several months ago. It's definitely a lot better for you than consuming legumes but it's not even in the same league as consuming organ meats. I would say natto is to soy to what fresh lemonade is to Mountain Dew.

I think the extract nattokinase would be better if you're concerned about soy estrogens but I stopped taking that too. I would take it again but I feel that I have zero plaque in my arteries and haven't found any on my teeth in a long time.

I still take what I believe to be nettle root extract, which was sold to me as nettle root on ebay for almost nothing. After I got my first kilogram a few years ago I ordered the remaining 4 kilograms they had for sale. Still got 3 and 1/2 kilograms left. I don't know what I'm going to do when I run out because I can't afford to buy the extract but that wont be for several years...

Nettle root extract is considered to be only a mild aromatase inhibiter (prevents testosterone from turning into estrogens)  but it works very well for me. I mix a tablespoon into one of my liver smoothies once a day. Actually improves the taste. The remaining liver smoothies I take plain. Maybe the reason it works so good is because I take an entire tablespoon. I used to take that much nettle root. When they sent me the mislabled extract I began taking the same amount. I figured what the hell.

I just started back on raw beef tripe smoothies and I could tell the difference in the way my skin felt by the end of the day. My joints didn't hurt as much after my cycling class either. Word of caution they are about the grossest thing you could ever imagine. Put some Worchestershire sauce in it this morning and it was still gross but at least I got it down without major concentration of not puking it up.

I buy ten pounds of tripe at a time and my butcher grinds it up for me into tripe burger. That helps a lot. I used to burn up a ton of blenders before I had them do it.

I feel good on a carnivore diet for about 3 weeks but after that I need to add in some raw fruit and vegetables. To me carnivore is a good reset but I don't seem to thrive on it long term

Hmm. Maybe your diet is ok. I know when I do a lot of work I sometimes forget to eat. Sitting around thinking about food is the worst.

Interesting post. You mentioned that you did not gain the weight till you had auto immune issues. Maybe concentrate on an anti auto immune diet or anti inflammation diet instead of whether to go vegan or not?

I don't eat dairy and I still get a zit now and then. I think it might be from eating lightly seared steaks. After all they are technically fried if only for less than 2 minutes.

Agreed. Nearly 50% of the meats I consume are raw organ meats. I take a tablespoon of wheatgrass juice occasionally for missing nutrients. My diet is so healthy that I consider canned sardines and herring, which I love, as my junk food!

My diet sounds very much like yours except without the dairy.

My diet is mostly meat. I only eat raw fruits and vegetables and mostly raw meat, predominantly raw organ meats. The meats I cook are lightly cooked muscle meats. I soak a lot of raw meat in lemon juice and eat it that way too.  I'm 61 and feel like a teenager. My avatar picture was taken on my 60th birthday.

Looked through some more links when googling black pepper and cancer and couldn't find a single one supporting that it caused it but plenty suggesting it may prevent it.

I googled black pepper and cancer looking to see if I could confirm what you posted and instead found this:
Quote
Another study in rats on a high-fat diet observed that treatment with black pepper and piperine decreased free radical levels to amounts similar to those in rats fed a normal diet
Quote
Finally, a test-tube study in human cancer cells noted that black pepper extracts were able to stop up to 85% of cellular damage associated with cancer development
though it's not any more scientific than the article you linked to.
