General Discussion / Re: digestion of carbs, protein and fats
« on: May 24, 2012, 01:45:19 am »
"Fat" if you mean the excess weight that most American's carry around, is mainly just excess of stored energy.  This "energy" comes from eating too many things your body either

A. can't break down
B. doesn't need

If you put too much fuel in the engine it floods it.  If you feed your body what it needs to run the "fat" will melt off you effortlessly.

-good quality fats (raw eggs, avocados, raw olive oil, coconut oil, bone marrow, some raw nuts)
-high quality vitamins/minerals/enzymes from fruits and vegetables
-good quality proteins (eggs, fish, rare or raw meats, im still not convinced everything needs to be 100% raw)

Basically it.  Just moderate and balance everything to how you feel.  Some people need more fat/protein. Some need more carbs.  Just cut out the grains, potatoes, beans, fried foods, heavy cooked foods and exercise and a little strength training and stuff should melt off pretty fast

I love it.  I swear its like i think i'm getting "back to nature" by eating clean, having a lot of plants, moving to a more rural environment, etc.  We "modern paleos" don't get to experience the amazing LIFE that some people have.  Is it more dangerous?  Maybe sometimes, but i have a feeling most on this forum have been through a lot and don't mind a little Danger or thrill if it means feeling more yourself and more alive.  What humbles me is the pictures of the old men and women who basically still have the bodies of 20 something year olds.  They are lean, fit, strong, with old faces =)  This is how i hope to be when i get older.

Chanca Piedra is a herb from the amazon nicknamed "stone-breaker."  I use this to simultaneously soften gallstones as well as kidney stones.  A lot of people use it to break down kidney stones.  I agree to watch the sugar.  You can take mini shots of Apple Cider Vinegar for the same effect without the sugar.  The apple cider vinegar warm rag goes over the liver area (right side under ribcage) during the flush to encourage more stones out.  I agree with everybody else's recommendations on diet and what not, but in my case, things didn't really get moving without a good flush or two.  No animal in nature needs to do liver flushing.  Humans don't live in nature anymore.  A lot of us grew up eating pizza and mcdonalds, and mountain dew.  Our systems get very gunked up and its hard to get it unstuck without some pretty intense procedures.  Just always trust your instincts and don't do anything your not ready for.

Here is what you do.

-get some chanca piedra herbal tincture and take morning and night for at least a week
-eat lots of apples, beats, dandelion, radishes, egg yolk, high raw foods
-go easy on the fat the last few days before the flush
-light eating day before flush, maybe do a coffee enema
-day of flush 1 tbsp ACV/half a lemon in a little water 3 times before 2 pm
-day of flush eat light not past 2pm
-while doing flush use a rag with warm apple cider vinegar.  this encourages more stones to pass

Watch the stones come out =)

General Discussion / Re: acid/alkaline?
« on: May 22, 2012, 08:59:25 pm »
I think alkaline forming diet would include mostly fresh raw vegetables and fruits, lots of clean water, air, not much cooked food, and definitely not much cooked meats or starches

General Discussion / acid/alkaline?
« on: May 21, 2012, 08:09:39 pm »
Hey guys,

i'm sure this has been brought up before but a lot of people recommend an alkaline based diet.  Supposedly things like eggs, fats, meats are "acid-forming."  I have never seen anything on this but my intuition says that eating raw eggs and fats, raw or rare meats would not be acid forming in the system.  I feel like the "acid-forming" mainly comes from not being able to break down the excess that heavily cooked proteins and fats in the body.  Thoughts?

No, i haven't ate raw chicken ever rhino.  I also second letting your body transition.  Right now i eat mainly raw fruits and vegetables, raw eggs, raw butter, raw olive/coconut oil, every now and then raw nuts/seeds, rare beef/salmon and then a some steamed vegetables and low-cooked chicken and turkey.  I just can't agree on the 100% raw thing.  People from all over the world have used things like gelatin rich bone broth, steamed veggies, and very lightly cooked meats as part of a healing diet.  Maybe i'm just not used to it yet who knows.  I just feel like if my stomach was really messed up i would not want a tough raw steak but thats just me.

rhino,

I wouldn't aim for 100% raw necessarily.  For me, that creates more stress than anything.  Eating a high raw diet while allowing yourself to fall off the wagon here and there or eat some lightly steamed veggies or crock pot chicken is ok for me.  I guess some people are stricter in their dogmas on eating.  People have been cooking food for thousands of years.  I just think they ate enough raw food, exercised enough, fresh air, etc also so it didn't affect them that badly.  Today though, people might eat packaged cereal with pastuerized milk for breakfast, roasted nuts for snacks, a sandwich for lunch, maybe a RAW apple for a snack and heavily cooked meats and potato for dinner.  This is obviously horrible.  I usually eat a little fermented food with my cooked food to help digest.  Probably a little more cooked food in the winter as opposed to the summer.  Just experiment on what works for you.  I just don't think aiming for 100% in today's world is a good idea for most if you don't want to lose your social life and obsess about what you are going to eat every minute of the day.  You ever figure out the chakra stuff?

Haha, troll what can i say.

Dorothy, yea i think its the extreme factor.  Basically its no fat the whole day.  Then you dump a huge amount of fat/citrus into the system all at once and your liver goes WOAH and shoots out real strong.  I have done both flushes and coffee enemas.  I think the enemas work in mild cases and i plan on doing those in the future for maintenance, but i don't think they will get the liver moving if you have really blocked up liver.

Health / Re: Depression success stories?

Hey man,

I have done a lot of work with shamanism lately.  There is so much stuff that is in the unconscious mind and energy field that we are not usually aware of.  So ready? best definition of healing ever?

-"Healing is the application of love to somewhere inside that is hurting"

So if something is wrong, you have to communicate with it.  What is hurting, what is causing this?  As natural beings created in the universe it is our soul's want to be happy, loving, and to enjoy nature, life, and other people.  So you have to figure out what it is that is preventing this natural expression to take flight.  It could be dietary or toxin related.  I know heavy metal toxicity is very common and needs to be treated often to get better.  As far as spiritual causes, there are numerous reasons.  Traumas, power loss, soul loss are all big.  You can become disassociated from certain parts of yourself.  If someone has a severe car accident it is possible for part of them to split off out of fear.  Nobody wants to be in their body in a car crash.  Anyways, i know shamanism has the ability to treat things including depression and other similar issues.  I'm not saying this is the answer for you or for everyone, but it's a field that is relatively lost in modern american culture.  I would recommend seeking out a shaman in your area and seeing if they can't figure out what the problem is.

I use grapefruit in my liver flushes.  They taste pretty good.  I actually look forward to the oil/citrus mixture after eating nothing all day and those amazingly tasty epsom salt water drinks =)

Yea miker, i think a lot of us have similar root causes.  I have been into shamanism lately and from their perspective, most all illness originates from spiritual/energetic causes.  While i think this probably was true a long time ago when we all ate good food, exercised daily, and were out in nature every day, unfortunately a lot of our food and upbringing in america especially causes a lot of problems.

That is unfortunate miker.  I think there are always good and bad people in whatever industry.  This guy seems very good, i have talked with many of his patients.  Also, his plan is set up where you can cancel at any time if you don't feel you are getting results.  Hopefully it works for me =) What you think your root causes were?

General Discussion / Re: Interesting post on AGE's
« on: May 18, 2012, 07:00:52 pm »
Personally i believe that we are all biologically different.  Some people have genes tracing back to cold, northern cultures will do best with good quality meats especially when in cold weather.  People living in tropical islands usually do not indulge in tons of meat, instead they favor more "yin" fruits and vegetables.  Think bananas, coconut, avocado, kiwi, the sweet stuff.  I live in a moderate climate and have a somewhat mixed disposition.  Right now, in the summer, i am favoring more raw vegetables and fruits and mono-fats (olive oil, avocado) but also raw eggs, etc.  In the winter, i favor more fatty meats and if i am chilled, some lightly cooked vegetables or meat.  I believe that there are definitely more than one factor deciding on what foods should be eaten by what person in what form.  Constitution, genetics, climate, season, activity levels all play in.  I eat a lot more meat when doing bodybuilding type activities and less when im not.  Of course i think leaning towards raw on most things is the right way to go.  As far as cooking meat, some will go for it now and then, others wont.  All i know is the cooking process itself really matters to your body.  I will hardly ever eat a grilled chicken breast or fried steak.  Those things are ridiculous.  But slow cooked for 8 hours crockpot chicken that falls off the bone is completely different.  So my vote goes

-listen to your body
-raw as much as possible
-wide variety of foods
-eat with the seasons
-when cooking, cook as light and slow as possible
-and remember that diet is only 1 aspect of health

Yea, its so important to find your own unique "root causes."  Some people have more energetic/emotional issues to work through, some may not ever exercise, most eat poorly.  It's finding those big stressors for you personally and then confronting and addressing them so the body can heal.

Hey guys,

I have struggled the past few years to regain my health.  Just recently found a good chiropractor who took x-rays and nerve scans on me.  I had a SEVERE atlas/axis subluxation putting pressure on the brain stem.  I applaud curemanual.com for putting in the chiropractor as the first thing to fix.  Honestly, i have been living clean and mean for the past year and was just getting worse.  You have to fix the nervous system.  I'll let you guys know how i progress but just wanted to get the word out on this.  If you have problems and they seem to not really end up getting better despite treatment consider getting some simple x-rays done by a good corrective chiropractor.  I started treatments last week and after the 2nd treatment i felt a lot more "gurgling" and movement in my digestive tract.  Will not be a quick fix but definitely a big part of my healing puzzle.  You can have misaligned vertebrae from anything.  Birth trauma, sports accidents, stress, bad posture, bad weightlifting, etc.  Anybody else run into these issues?

I second on the liver flush.  What people don't realize is like, ok we have all been on good diets for maybe a few years?  I don't know about you, but the first 22 years of my life i ate a ton of junk food, alcohol, bad fats, carbs, cheese, fried food, you name it.  I think that eating great is a big help but sometimes our bodies need help getting the accumulated "gunk" out of our systems so the "GOOD" food/nutrition can work its magic.  We are what we absorb, not what we we eat =)  Gearing up for liver flush 4 next week.

General Discussion / Re: pancreas inflamation
« on: May 15, 2012, 06:12:19 pm »
The above two are exactly contradictory =)

Rhino, basically anything she doesn't feel is digesting well or bogging her system down shouldn't be eaten.  I agree with jess on small, light meals.  Check out getting a nutribullet.  100$ from target and they will shred up raw salads and beets, carrots to liquid meals.  Most people's livers are severely clogged up too.  You might look into liver flushing or coffee enemas to get the liver unclogged.  I know whenever i have done liver flushing in the past the pancreas almost always feels like it empties along with the liver.  It's always just stuff clogged up.  We gotta stop clogging and do things that unclog.  Colon, kidneys, liver, skin, lungs

196
Thats true sometimes.  There are brands that involve low-heat.  Most store bought are not raw no.  Look into bariani. stone crushed, no heat.

197
I think a lot of people recommend dark greens man.  Gotta be careful with the raw greens as some can contain goitrogens (brocolli, brussels, kale, spinach, etc) but I use a nutribullet to blend a lot of this stuff up.  I just eat to how i feel balanced out.  For me its good amounts of raw and some cooked veggies, some raw fruit, raw eggs, raw fats (olive, coconut, fish oil), rare beef and salmon, and some lightly cooked chicken and turkey.  I am evolving one step at a time

Oh and on a second note:

Many many people have gotten well from lyme disease on a non-raw diet as well.  I think listen to your body.  For me, i do well with primarily raw fats, some very lightly cooked protein, some fruit, juiced veggies, blended veggies, and some cooked veggies at times.  I am letting my body ease into the raw food as it pleases.

I don't think it works that way.  Lots of fermented foods should be good.  Also dealing with similar issues man.  Two really good books

-Healing Lyme by stephen buhner.  He has an herbal protocol using mainly cats claw, reversatol, and andrographis i believe.  I have heard excellent things about this protocol.  I'll probably use it myself down the road

-The Lyme Solution by ken singelton.  This is a good overall book utilizing medical and natural means.

-Overall i agree that it's not best to focus on the tick itself.  I have been hearing they are in mosquitos now too.  And there are tons of my friends that have been bit but don't get "lyme disease."  Most people high up in the field are finding that lyme disease has a huge emotional component that must be dealt with if you expect to get fully well.

Maybe do coconut oil instead of cream? This way its all raw together.  There are a variety of anti-bacterial things in God's medicine cabinet.

-raw garlic
-onions
-oregano
-pau d'arco is good for candida
-coconut oil

Personally, i think candida is not necessarily something to "kill off" as it exists in everybodies bodies in certain amounts.  You have to ask why it is there in the first place?  Maybe add in some fermented foods to replace friendly bacteria you may have lost along the way.  Generally becoming healthier and more oxygenated/raising your body PH levels will help get rid of any and all microbes.  I think the candida thing is overrated.  There are hundreds if not thousands of species of bacteria and parasites living in human bodies.  Why are we all blaming it on one thing that is already in our bodies to begin with?  And yes, it could be that the extra sugar is a cause as well.  Maybe candida is speaking to you? telling you you don't need that much sugar to function during the day.   ;D  I find there is always a lesson that your body is trying to teach you so that you will find and maintain your balance.
