« on: November 09, 2017, 07:43:05 pm »
Hey folks,

For those following a predominantly zero-carb (or close to zero-carb) approach, how much raw fat do you aim to eat in a day?

Thanks

General Discussion / Raw Dairy Nutrition
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:06:37 pm »
Hi folks,

Does anyone know if there is any important nutritional components in raw dairy that would be missing from a typical RP diet?

If so, how would you approach this without necessarily consuming dairy products?

Thanks,

Hey folks,

Do raw fruits spike your blood sugar, or do people find this not actually to be the case at all?

Thanks

Hey folks,

What foods do you Raw Paleo dieters utilise (or even avoid) to maintain a strong metabolism and keep warm in the winter?

Thanks

General Discussion / Raw Fruits in the UK
« on: October 04, 2017, 03:37:14 pm »
Hey folks,

For those based in the UK, just wondered which raw fruits seem to be optimum? As in those that people can consume without reacting to or experiencing a hypoglycemic response from?

How much do people find they can consume roughly per sitting?

Thanks,

General Discussion / Raw Beef Fat vs Raw Butter
« on: September 23, 2017, 01:16:51 am »
Hey folks,

In terms of the level of processing, how does raw beef fat differ from raw butter?

Obviously raw beef fat has ZERO processing but what is the process involved in creating raw butter from raw milk and raw beef fat? And why is the butter described as raw?

Hope that makes sense. Haha.

Thanks

General Discussion / Re: Metabolic Typing

Yer, it's kind of like do you eat according to your metabolism, or do you manipulate your own metabolism by what you eat?

Any other opinions on the topic?

General Discussion / Metabolic Typing
« on: April 05, 2017, 11:45:57 pm »
Hi folks,

Just wondering what people on here think about Metabolic Typing (Fast Oxidisers vs Slow Oxidisers), which a number of natural health doctors use and that suggests slow oxidisers require a diet lower in fat/protein (and higher in carbohydrate foods).

Thanks,

Phil

General Discussion / Re: Pancreatic insuffiency
« on: March 29, 2017, 11:54:23 pm »
This post is very much of interest to me.

Perhaps this is not the best site to post in order to get a well-balanced response but what is everyone's take on the Yin/Yang TCM diet perspective? My past experience when I experimented with raw paleo was that I found I didn't get the energetic warming boost from raw meats that I get from cooked meats, with the raw foods being very cooling.

Do we know if many people have failed on a predominantly raw diet perhaps due to it's 'Yin' cooling nature?

I know it doesn't really make sense scientifically that cooked food could be more beneficial but that's what it felt like at the time when I had a go at raw paleo?

Is there an explanation? Could it be a kidney thing, perhaps related to a lack of fat-adaptation and deranged metabolism, or maybe something linked to the climate you live in?

General Discussion / Transition experiences
« on: August 25, 2012, 07:55:41 pm »
Hey forum. Please share your transition experiences. Not how you transitioned, but how you felt during the transition. Did anyone feel worse initially, but then picked up after time and progressed? Many say that a predominantly raw diet is too yin. Does anyone feel this is something the body may not like initially and may react in a negative way, however with sufficient time will adapt and eventually work better all raw? Did anyone find for example that the first three months they felt worse, but then adaption occurred and they started to feel great? Sorry if this should be in hot topics by the way, im on my phone so difficult for me to change this now!

Anyone experimented with entrails? Any good? From which animals? And how on earth do you ask your butcher to bag you up some of that!

Yes, but the raw meat provides lots of good bacteria for your gut. Thought probiotic was just another term for beneficial bacteria. Just wondered if the same beneficial bacteria is present in raw animal fat or whether there is something special about the protein part in terms of bacteria. Also consider why high meat is made from the lean muscle meat, but not fatty meat, to appreciate my thought process.

Hey forum, is raw animal fat such as raw bone marrow or raw beef fat equally as good as a probiotic as raw animal protein, or is there something about the protein portion that makes it a more effective probiotic?

General Discussion / Long-term high fat diet/eczema

Raw grass fed beef bone marrow, raw grass fed beef fat, raw grass fed lamb fat, a couple of raw organic chicken egg yolks, sometimes lightly cooked whole organic chicken eggs, and extra virgin olive oil.

« on: July 07, 2012, 07:01:54 pm »
Hey forum, i am under the impression that most would recommend that in the long-term most calories in the diet should be supplied via a raw fat source. However, i dont think my ability to process fat is very good, and i need to keep my fat intake quite low otherwise contrary to what many others find it actually seems to trigger eczema. My ability to process fat does not seen to be improving. Do u then consider using carbs as your main energy source, or find a way to improve your fat utilisation. Any thoughts guys?

General Discussion / Wild deer liver
« on: June 08, 2012, 09:17:44 pm »
i had deer liver many times.  it always had very deep red and dark bloody color.  it was somewhat crunchy. tasted awesome to me.
exactly! Thats why this instance was strange. The liver had been in a fridge for 5 days, and was going a bit gooiey, but cant imagine such a drastic colour change over such a short time period.
When did you last eat liver? If you had a few kilos yesterday for example, chances are liver aint going to smell and taste too appealing right now.
not ate liver for a while n was really looking forward to it so was disappointed with my supply.

« on: June 08, 2012, 07:19:10 am »
Hey forum, previously when i have acquired liver, either grass fed lambs or wild deer, it has been really dark red with quite a strong sweet smell and taste. I have just bought some wild deer liver, that is much lighter in shade, not very red at all and doesnt smell quite so livery. Anyone experienced this before? It doesnt look or smell anywhere near as appealing, although i have not sampled it yet.

NLP is top notch at getting rid of fear and phobias. If you find a good nlp practitioner they will be able to uncondition you. NLP stands for neuro-linguistic programming.

Wow, you seem completely convinced in this method Dorothy! I know from following your posts that you would not recommend something lightly.

I will definitely investigate this further.
