thanks for sharing saber, and congrats again!!

i've had my cholesterol results high before, but my hdl was in the upper 50's on one occasion and lower 60's on another that the doctor just looked at the ratio and said not to worry about it at all. from then on, i just switched my fat source to egg yolk and avocado  and kept the marrow and meat fat very low about a week before lab tests and my cholesterol would then be quite low. i'd get positive reinforcement for low cholesterol of course but i was really thinking that it was too low!

i started having to get these blood tests done for work, and when my cholesterol was high i would get lectured by some lab tech trained to tell me that cholesterol is bad blah blah. plus it went on a work form as a risk factor. so i just adjusted my diet for these tests so the numbers would be 'right'.

i know this has been discussed but what is the truth on this monthly hemorrhaging?

i have to mindfully eat to get my period, especially if i'm happy and content which simply means that i'm physically/emotionally feeling balanced.  there's no way if food were scarce i'd be getting mine. i have food, i eat what i want, and my body fat might be such that my bmi is just hovering around 18-19 ('supposed' to be 18.5 at minimum).

if/when it gets low, i eat to bring it up IF my period is absent, but  i feel fine! i'm just afraid, so i eat more than i want to in order to get it back. i don't feel as well necessarily, but the fear is gone.

i'm tired of this cycle, the fear, and tired of having to be so mindful.

thanks, jessica!  i did experiment with the beet root powder, but it is grainy. it doesn't dissolve into anything to make for a smooth application. so, i'm going to try pomegranite powder  for the coloring and see if that works. any suggestions welcomed, i'm having fun with this :D

svrn, omg, why are you so angry??? as exciting as a conversation re salt can be...  ;)

i used to do open water swimming. i've swallowed plenty of salt water accidentally. i didn't like it. i didn't get sick. my dog has come with me to the beach and she has had some of the water to drink. i don't think she like it either. she didn't get sick.

Also, for whatever it's worth, I teach at a university and have access to most peer-reviewed articles at no cost. If you ever need something and don't want to have to pay for it straight up, send me an email with the citation and I can probably get it for you. Odds are I'll want to read it too.

i have this access also. if i can get an article for anyone please let me know!

sorry guys, i've really had my head in the books and swamped with work lately, but i just wanted to check in because a friend of mine wanted to show me this article and i said OMG THATS SABERTOOTH. hahahhaha... well congrats sabertooth! as you get more publicity, hopefully you learn how to better share your story/take more control from the interviewer and the interviewers come to better appreciation and respect who you are and where you've been. and yes, your girlfriend is so darn cute!

Sorry for my  bad english, and thanks for the answer, but maybe i didnt speak correctly.. Fruits dont work for me.. The only carbs i eat is from white rice.. If i only eat the organs and muscle meats will i be able to heal my body in order to better digest the fats in the future?

this is what i did! i decided to incorporate organs bc i wasn't eating fruit or veg. i still don't tolerate fruits or veg too well but my digestion of fats and other meats has much improved.  if i don't workout, this is fine, but if i'm going to be working out i need carbs or i get depleted-feeling. some carbs i tolerate raw are jicama, pumpkin, avocado, seaweed and honey. cooked-wise i can tolerate rice if im desperate, and still enjoy steamed veg like broccoli.  i don't tolerate dairy, or that would be a great source too bc i otherwise feel very calm drinking warmed goat milk... oh, well :(

hi and welcome! so what do you feed your dog and where in brazil?

Is that found at a usual farmer's market? Does this go for eggs as well?

Are there any specific types of grass-fed cattle meat I should get?

And finally, have any of you gotten sick from these diets? How will I know if I'm sick?

Thank you!

i've never met a farmer that used gmo anything, but you should ask anyway. and yes, this includes eggs as well.

you might want to take care that the grass-fed cattle are 100% grass-fed and finished.

never gotten sick from this diet, but if you do you'll know :)

Yes I agree, if isn't good enough to eat raw then it shouldn't be eaten at all.

totally agree with you guys in theory, and trying to get there, but finding carbs so helpful, but i'm not finding many i can eat raw :( ... they go right through me, so to get some carbs taht will stay in me, i've experimented with some steamed or cooked and it works so much better atm.   -\
