Omnivorous Raw Paleo Diet / Re: description
« on: November 06, 2008, 06:34:03 am »
Hi Nicola,

These simply "distilled opinion" of what I think is garbage about chemicalizing food.  Saying fruit = sugar or fruit = fructose.  Which in my opinion is baloney and wrong.  Just as we cannot just lump protein = beef = wild salmon = wild tuna = farmed fish or FAT = canola oil = butter = beef brains = marrow = extra virgin olive oil

This is why we humans crave for variety.  All these foods are different.  All these foods give different results.  All these foods have different nutrition.

Fruit is a paleolithic heritage.  In tropical and forested areas, people had to snack on fruit for hydration and food in between kills of meat.

Paleolithic times does not mean exclusively ice age times... where people were forced to be carnivorous... the ice ages came in and out.

Weston Price studied different isolated healthy tribes and eskimos were just one of them.

In times of healing... not so sweet fruits are used as fasting tools.

What i'm saying is that this diagram about fructose may be true for PURE fructose as a chemical but certainly DOES NOT apply to all the fruits of today and up to 5 million years ago.

This post does not mean to suggest to go either high carb or low carb... it merely suggests that fruits are a paleolithic food and the amount of fruits people ate would have depended on where they were and what kind of fruits were available and at what season.

General Discussion / Re: Skin tumors from eating raw meat?!
« on: November 05, 2008, 11:22:15 am »
Raw paleo is the best... implementation, sourcing, timing, proportions are other factors as far as this diet is concerned.

Ah tumors.
The body makes tumors to encapsulate toxic material.  And before tumors come along a lot of inflammation has been going on prior.  This is well established in natural hygiene teachings.
Toxicity may come from diet, your personal care products (soap, shampoo, perfume, etc), the air, your clothes, chemical exposures, your stresses... many things.
Always check and re-check what you are doing... adjust as you go along.

Do the Aeta consume these raw. or are these foods cooked?

This current generation of aetas consume their meat cooked. These are not isolated peoples. Their ancestors were... some 100+ years ago.

I'd like to share how the modern hunter gatherer Aeta survive while hunting wild boar, wild deer and wild fowl in their forest mountain.

They say there are abundant fruits for them to snack on in the mountains while waiting for their traps to catch their prey.

So they might stay there up to 1 week living on fruits alone while awaiting for the "big catch".

Raw wild just picked eaten on the spot fruit has a different "magic" in it... it still has the life force / energy of the tree and has hydrating qualities superior to any spring source.  Eating one just picked wild chico / persimon for example may feel like you've just drank more than 1 liter of cool spring water.

I'd like the visitors to know that RPD is not necessarily equate to 100% RAF... somehow I feel some visitors get that idea that RPD = 100% RAF.

That's a nice observation.  Wai diet is considered Paleo.
I live in a tropical country and I can attest to the availability of fruits all year round.

Plus in my personal experiments fruit carbohydrates seem to be far different from cooked grain and cooked starchy carbohydrates in the observation that it is highly improbable fruitarians will ever be fat...

Consuming a lot of extra virgin olive oil is not recommended as you have experienced and what others have experienced that evoo is drying while animal fats are a lubricating.

I don't like consuming virgin coconut oil on a regular basis either... it fails the taste test... it tastes bad.  I eat fresh coconut meat instead... coconuts are a local organic / wild fruit where I live.

General Discussion / Re: How strict are you?
« on: November 04, 2008, 01:26:12 pm »
how strict are you for following this diet?

I'm fairly strict because I want results.

Do you ever eat out or only rarely and what do you order?

Our food bill is already astronomical with the best fruits and the best animal food.  I don't see anything restaurants can offer at any price that entices me to eat there.  When we are invited to parties, to be cordial I eat either raw fruit or cooked fatty meat... whatever is the least damaging.  I view my home shopped food as the ultimate best.  I am curious and would want to visit all you other raw paleo people and taste your food.  I just live so far away from most of you.

Do you ever cheat once in a while and have a slice of bread..

I have zero cravings for grains or other unhealthy food.  Got rid of cravings some time ago with my detoxes and fasts.

or even a sweet fruit like a banana? or do you beat yourself up about it if you consume something not on the diet-list?

I eat bananas, but I make sure they are local organic bananas, and just one or two bananas is enough as a snack.  Not a meal.  Bananas are part of my paleolithic diet.  I consider bananas as paleo food in the Philippines.  We export to the world the bananas we don't like... the cavendish bananas, and those are sprayed with insecticides and factory farmed.

I'm just wondering, because this is a very limiting diet taking it out from a social context. I mean don't any of you have problems around friends or co-workers, considering you have to say no to every offer of a piece of fruit or sandwich or even cooked meat?

Raw paleo for me means raw fruits, raw vegs, raw meat... in a social context I will eat cooked fatty meat or raw fruits which is acceptable, raw vegs is acceptable, raw fish is acceptable socially.

I run my own company and I live 500 meters away from my office so I always eat at home.  Besides, I'm the boss and acknowledged altruistic healer, it's in my business card, so my employees know and understand.  For snacks I buy them fruits and sometimes they request cooked balut -- duck fetus, which is popular in my country so it is socially yummy.  Cooked meat paleo for socials at worst for me.  And I eat little outside the house.  I stuff myself first at home before leaving.

What do you do if a friend asks why you won't eat that or why you never eat what they offer? Do you just straight out say you are following a raw meat diet? Or do you keep it a secret from people and just avoid putting yourself in situations where you might be asked?

When people ask I tell them it's a medical thing.  That is socially acceptable.  When we get into a deeper conversation and I teach people how to cure themselves... they know and understand why raw paleo... because it works!  If you are terminally sick... which diet do you bet your life on?  Raw paleo!

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Re: 0% CARBS? 100% CRAZY!
« on: November 04, 2008, 01:08:13 pm »
Hi David,

I eat fruits every morning.  I drink and eat a lot of fresh coconuts.  I use fruits for my hydration instead of water.  Coconut meat is fat.  Also extra virgin olive oil sometimes.

I eat raw celery every now and then.

This breakfast I had some melon and 4 raw eggs.

at mid day I drank coconut juice and ate coconut meat.

I just had raw fish eggs with fermented vinegar and thin slices of ginger.

I don't like lean meat.  I like fatty meat.  Fat is my energy source to replace what I used to eat: cooked rice.

Oh I like it when Nicola asks questions. I do not think you are obsessed.  Just curious, need to know.

I'm like you too... I ask so many questions... and I keep on self experimenting.

See what works best at what stage and always do something better.

Runny stools are not good.  That should only be temporary.  If you have problems with fat absorption, I do know the consumption of lecithin supplements at every meal should help you with fat absorption.  Also a couple of liver flushes should clear out the liver of debris / stones / etc.  Parasites can be a problem if you have a history of isopropyl alcohol pollution in the past.  De worming will take care of that.  I would bet on liver flushing.  Also intermittent fasting.

I do conclude that raw is best because 100% raw is required when people are sick with a terminal illness.

Of course there is more to healing than diet.  Raw is the cleanest food.  IMHO.

When I'm out on socials, just to be cordial, I will eat cooked fatty meat, raw ripe fruits or raw vegetables... whichever I see is more healthy or least damaging.  As a rule, I stuff myself and my kids at home before going to a party or a restaurant because you can't expect the common people to come up with anything healthy in mind.  Worst case, I brought my own food and slyly ate raw meat.

The Myths of Vegetarianism

If you believe fresh red meat and saturated animal fats cause cancer, you have been brainwashed. If you believe a vegetarian, high-fiber, organic diet of fruits, vegetables and whole grains does not cause cancer, you have been brainwashed.

In the scientific literature, there are surprisingly few studies done on vegetarian longevity. Russell Smith, PhD, in his massive review study on heart disease, showed that as animal product consumption increased among some study groups, death rates actually decreased! Such results were not obtained among vegetarian subjects. For example, in a study published by Burr and Sweetnam in 1982, analysis of mortality data revealed that, although vegetarians had a slightly (.11%) lower rate of heart disease than non-vegetarians, the all-cause death rate was much higher for vegetarians.

The Nutritional Desk Reference is really a horrible book.

I've been fixing Diabetic patients, clinically for ten years with higher fat and protein diets.

Daniel Vitalis was a former raw vegan.
He was doing great the first 2-3 years as raw vegan.
Then after 7 more years on raw vegan he gave it up, suffered nutritional deficiencies
He added raw animal foods to his diet.
He is now on raw paleo diet, has been so for 5 years.

Daniel was interviewed as a resource export on One Radio Network.

Daniel Vitalis is not a vegan any longer.  Why not? Daniel has been researching the best water to drink and is an ardent student of getting the best nutrition to reach his goals.  He is the creator of ElixirCraft, he has been deeply immersed in Raw Foods, SuperFoods, Herbalism and Live Food nutrition for more than 14 years.  We think you'll hear some interesting and unique ideas from Daniel on how to reach your health goals.  Please pass this link on to everyone you care about.

I just finished lunch.

I tasted some of my kids' seared beef sirloin steak and some left over goat meat.

My main meal was:
I had raw beef liver
and for the first time I had raw beef pancreas (lapay)... and I found the taste of beef pancreas unique, tasty and enlightening.

Wow, welcome.
I wish I had started at your age.
We didn't have internet when I was your age.

Raw paleo foods will depend on what is available and what you can afford in your area.  Maybe fellow Americans can give you tips where they buy their stuff.

I went raw vegan for 2 months last year.
I was never dogmatic about anything.
So it was always a wait and see thing.
Many raw vegans are dogmatic... blind until they are faced with nutritional deficiency realities.

Since I wasn't dogmatic to begin with and I'm sensitive to my needs, 2 months was enough for me to quit on raw vegan and I added back cooked starches and cooked meat. Later on I tried raw fruitarian, but that led to other problems.  And later on Wai Diet which led to RPD.

I view the resources on raw vegan communities as useful.  Since they are stuck in that paradigm, they point out good fruits and good vegetables.  So that is useful information for us in Raw Paleo.

I feel that we need to extend a helping hand, open arms to some 90++ percent of people who are eventually going to fall off the raw vegan dead end... instead of them reverting to cooked starches... show them a path through cooked meat paleo diet... moving on to the ULTIMATE... which is raw paleo diet.

I view RPD as the ultimate.   Let majority of the raw vegans explore and find us.  They eventually will find cooked meat Paleo Diet their bridge and Raw Paleo Diet the ultimate destination.

Maybe we should have a thread or a section for transition diets.  Help the lost souls transition say from cooked meat paleo diet to raw paleo diet.

I increased my sperm count with raw oysters twice a week in my diet way before I ever heard about healthy eating.  I measured it with before and after readings.  From 100 million / ml to 300 million / ml.

Must have something to do with their current living conditions and diet.

The reason I don't blender my meat is I want to see what I'm eating.
Another reason I don't want to mix together organs, is I want to taste each and every organ.
I follow my taste buds.
If it tastes bad, I throw it away.

« on: October 30, 2008, 05:22:09 pm »
In my personal timings, assuming I do not stuff myself with food and observe digestion of food eaten one kind at a time, this is my observation:

raw ripe fruit: 20 minutes
raw meat such as beef or tuna: 60 minutes

If I stuff myself with too much raw meat, it can take 4 hours.

Lesson for myself is not to stuff myself with too much food in one sitting.  It seems my digestive capacity only goes for so much food eaten at one sitting.

It is worse when I stuff myself with cooked meat, I get so so so sleepy.

Great idea regarding in-eutero feeding.  The baby immediately tastes what the mother ate.

I've seen raw vegan families and raw vegan babies growing up on video.

How about raw paleo diet humans.  It would be such a rush to pair up any of our RPD bachelors and RPD bachelorets and see if their baby in-eutero are born with no taste for cooked food. I'm sure one of these days it will happen...

My question is...

... now that I have learned raw food eating and I found it to be superior in nutrition and CONVENIENCE...
... what I would like to know is...

What was the real reason humans started cooking in the first place?
Why did cooking become popular?  Probably taste? Addiction?
Did cooking come first or did condiments come first?

I think it has something to do with getting dumb and dumber.
Every new generation copies the older generation and makes innovations that dumbs down the food even more.  Just look at a fully decorated donut.  What kind of idiots make those?

What's the deal with drinking blood? Anyone experimented?

Cooked blood is normal in Philippine cuisine.
I have heard tribal stories of tribesmen drinking straight from the neck of a live goat.
I only eat the blood I get from freshly killed beef we get at the market.
Slaughter is at 12 midnight and it's in the market by 4am.  I usually get to buy at 8am and have it for lunch.
It is my 3 year old daughter that taught me dunking the meat in the little pool of blood in the plate tastes good.
I haven't the urge to get into blood drinking when we've got lots of fresh coconut juice.
