Suggestion Box / Re: Tribal hierachy
« on: August 09, 2011, 08:31:19 pm »
Cherimoya, kid... Someone has health problems constantly e.g. joint pains, flatulence, stomach pains/IBS, constipation, acne, weakness, tiredness, hay fever etc... This person is not sensitive to foods, because they are always eating bad foods and always feeling bad. The same person then discovers paleo-lifestyle, they begin to feel better because they're eating good foods, and their health improves, but the underlying problems which made them so ill before still remain - long-term problems, but now from eating good foods they feel good. This person is now sensitive to eating bad foods, because they now know what it is to feel good.

The paleo-lifestyle did not make them more vulnerable to these bad foods, just more sensitive, it's very different... Though this person has become more sensitive to bad foods, they are probably in fact less vulnerable to their bad effects, as their health is generally greater.

There is long-term health and short-term health. If someone had poor health during their development, and/or generally for a large part of their life, they will have poor long-term heath. What you are eating/experiencing right now will affect your short-term health, and what you have eaten/experienced throughout your life will affect your long-term health. People with a bad long-term health but a good short-term health will be the most sensitive. By maintaining a good short-term health, some aspects of your long-term health can gradually improve as well, and you can become gradually less vulnerable to bad foods/experiences.

Exercise / Bodybuilding / Re: Today's workout?
« on: August 09, 2011, 12:24:44 am »
thats not exercising. thats called working. most of us do that stuf 40hrs a week.

Well it's interesting to me. What is exercise then?

What is your job by the way?

As for me.. I've been doing a lot of just going out and doing spontaneous exercise/activities which include swimming(river), climbing, running, jumping mixed up with making stuff and using it.. I made(and used) a simple raft about a week ago and had been making(and using) simple atlatls a few days ago. Next thing I was going to do was make rope from nettles and do some stuff with that, but.. the egg-plums which had been fuelling this activity have all now run-out so the last the days I've been a lot less active... It sucks, but I don't feel the same eating fruit from the supermarket, it makes me feel bad if I eat too much of it and I can't afford to buy much anyway. Whereas the egg-plums I could eat them until I was full of them, feel great and satisfied the whole day..

And you're banned, for threatening a mod.  Please do not re-register.

Haha Chermimoya such a kid.

I think you should check if your water-board has started adding oestrogen or something.

I also think you should allow Dorothy to choose a champion and you should meet him for a fight. If Dorothy's champion wins you lay down your moderator status, if you win Dorothy will leave the forum. That's paleo conflict resolution.

By the way... I understand the problem. Because the forum is generally quiet, if one person starts posting a lot, their opinions are heard over everyone else, so if one person keeps talking about mystic energy fields and spirit bombs it could easily be viewed as the style of the forum by outsiders. This was mildly unsettling to me too. However I think you greatly over-reacted, and what Dorothy said in her last post was excellent. I think you should apologise to her and follow from what she said in her last post.

I don't really care though tbh it's just a forum people can still do paleo diet without it, I just woke up too late today so I'm awake at night with nothing else to do.

Wouldn't 'clabbered' raw milk be better than a pro-biotic, since pro-biotics are just pasteurised yogurt with added bacteria anyway right?

She can't concentrate on her work if she's feeling horny all day.

Besides, shouldn't she be getting compensation from the hotel anyway for the dodgy light-fitting??

I used to have problems eating fruit - all the problems other people mention such as that it would cause digestive discomfort, acne, poor energy, dehydration, 'candida symptoms' etc...

Now though, I generally only eat fruit that has more than or approximately equal glucose relative to fructose, and no more problems!

If you haven't tried it already, maybe you should...

Fruits with more glucose than fructose include: Apricots, peaches, nectarines, plums, dates, figs, bananas and green grapes...

...and many other fruits have only slightly more fructose than glucose.

Pears, apples and watermelon on the other hand are examples of fruits with a low glucose:fructose ratio - pears having a ratio of ~4:9 glucose:fructose.

General Discussion / Re: What would you do in my situation?
« on: July 28, 2011, 09:09:12 am »
Of course long term I plan to live in the forest, harvest wild edibles and hunt down my meals with bow and arrow

Bow-hunting is apparently illegal in Sweden, sadly... Were you unaware of that, just don't mind, or were you planning to move elsewhere?

Eating any cooked food makes me feel like sitting around and not doing anything... until I get it out of my system and then my energy returns.

Shooting my bow at a target from different postures and distances. Climbing trees for plumbs, which is quite skeletal-muscle-tiring when hanging for extended periods in awkward positions to reach the ripe ones. Swimming up, down and across a pretty wide river. Kayaking around the same river, doing rolls and stuff. Played English vs Indian football match by the river, English won... Ah yeah and I walk about a mile with my kayak on my shoulder to get to and from the river as well.

The FDA is not, of itself, evil; it simply reflects the majority opinion in the US.

But who gives the majority their opinion? They didn't come to it by themselves...

Is there a risk of chickens getting prion disease from eating chicken egg whites?

Humans(kuru), cattle(BSE) and sheep(scrapies) can get it from eating their own kind, but maybe eating egg white is not the same as eating chicken flesh.

I don't think there's any problem with 'intensive full-body frisking' as long as they don't make people feel guilty before finding anything.

Off Topic / Re: Barefoot walking technique
« on: July 19, 2011, 08:03:15 pm »
Only problem I have walking/running barefoot is if my big toe-nails get too short, on tarmac I have twice in ~3 years scraped off the skin on the front of my big toe, because the nail was behind where the soft and hard skin join under the nail and I scraped it.

I don't know why but my big toe-nails are brittle in comparison to all my other nails. My other toe and finger nails are very strong in the first place, but they give and bend if there is too much force, and when they break they always break cleanly across the white part, but this doesn't happen with my big toe-nails - if there's a crack it will go through the clear as well.

I just walk, differently depending on the circumstances. I sometimes walk heel first and sometimes walk forefoot first, both are fine. I don't think much about it. I usually run down hills though, just feels natural.

My theory at the moment: Austism occurs when a person with a large proportion of Neanderthal genes doesn't eat enough raw meat.

I think I have a lot of Neanderthal genes.
