Never want an Iphone.... or an Ipad. I have a cellphone but it is an older Nokia and I use it as little as possible, never carry it on my body. It usually stays in the kitchen and I switch it off at 8-9 PM and on 8 AM. I hate to talk on it. So if needed I try to keep it really short and keep it a bit away from mt ear / use the speakers option.

GS... they are for sure making you ill. Get rid of them ASAP.

It is not only the radiation.... I think they take people away from the real life too. It is just too sad how important they have become. I see they are useful but this is going just too far.
here people are on their smart phones all the time... even children have them. It is status. For children...? sick.

General Discussion / Re: Fantastic Health Benefits of Butyrate

Interesting. I have not tried rs myself yet because it feels so unnatural. Those things does not grow here naturally this time of the year, or not at all... bananas.. potatoes.. beans... those are not even wild foods. I could believe wild tubers would be of benefit but here in the north they are very hard to get and small! I have tried! And only in summertime of course. And some powder... I would rather do without.

Now, I think high meat is the way to go  :) and all kind of wild berries and greens and such in summer and fall! No restrictions  ;)
I bet when we eat fresh RAF with lots of good quality fat (no rancid PUFAs) and wild edibles, mushrooms and organs - everything amazing that nature offers we will do just fine

I am careful because the rs might have a downside... I have to admit I am no expert, and I might be wrong too. This is just what my intuition tells me....

Turned green..? that is weird.. what do you think why?

I had bulemia too... for many years.  I never felt that great with carbs either... since I was a kid. But of course I ate them, and a lot.. like everyone else around me. I must have had blood sugar swings and inflammation all the way

I understand.... that is why I work very little... but I do a lot! lol I think your are lucky to like what you do, this is important or you would not last long.
Maybe the issue with most works are we have too little possibility to be creative and we are too much inside in buildings/away from nature..... To find a work where you get both of those two things, that would be a dream.

Jessica, so glad things are improving! I have had glasses since 4th grade (-2 on both eyes) and in my late teens I stopped using glasses. I never used them since, just when watching movies or in school. Now I use them sometimes when I drive, mostly not. And my vision has improved quite a bit, from -2 to -1,25 and -1,50. Maybe not using glasses have helped too? I do sungaze when I remember to..   :) I eat fish heads too. I think fish eyes are good for our eye health too?

I am agreeing with you all, guys.

So rather than substantiate our own wanted believes of what we've each found to be the ' ideal' diet, why not offer what we do think in an informative section so that, as Iguana suggests, people wanting to change can come and learn for themselves.  And obtain support, as we all do here, in that process.    I do think that to have a 'coach' in the beginning, as in,  'watch me eat this piece of raw meat or fish,, see it didn't kill me' can be a valuable tool or service that one could offer.   And ideally we can all one day do that for another.  I know I have.

I think one thing that many of us have developed that would be worth writing about is how we've learned to be sensitive to our bodies' needs and how we interpret feedback from our bodies in a way that allows us to make useful and beneficial adjustments in our eating patterns and other areas of life.

I decided I should wait at least 4 years before considering anything like that, aside from sharing info with friends and relatives and on forums. After 4 years, I decided I still had a lot to learn .....

We are all riding the great crest of the energy wave that began with the big bang. We may never be able to know or control the motion of the great cosmic ocean, but we can become hip to its rhythm and harness the tidal forces to develop the skill needed to ride on without getting wiped out.

General Discussion / Re: Humans Natural/Optimal Habitat
« on: November 30, 2013, 05:01:31 pm »
Inger, I read the post Jessica referred me to.
It is great that you have found the diet and lifestyle that is good for you.

I have one question: What is the reason you want to keep your sleeping environment cold and to take cold bath?

I grew up in an Asian culture. The three-thousand-year-old medicinal system recommends warm diet and warm environment.
I think it is agreed that mankind originated in tropical areas of the earth. So it seems mankind is more suited to warm environment.

The illnesses we have today and the man made environment we are surrounded by is very different than for 3000 years ago Joy. Back then they faced cold every so often. We do not anymore. We have heated houses, cars, clothes way different than back then. We live in a unnaturally heated environment, that is the truth. You need to see how we live NOW, then you will know why we might need a different approach than the healing protocol was 3000 years back.

Quote
If they (we) were well adapted, shouldn't they (we) remain naked and barefoot outside or inside unheated houses the whole year?   ;)

Absolute. That would be the optimal thing to do for health Francois!   :-*
I learned in High School about "wolf kids". Children left out in the wild, growing up with animals. Totally naked... even in the German winter! They had fully adapted.

I would do it.... but I do not think diet is all and everything. It is just one very important piece of the puzzle.. I am also pretty sure looking to Nature for help will always heal.
So my approach would be very simple.
Eat seasonally and mainly or better 100% wild foods... (very ill people with cancer etc, might need to go ketogenic all year), lots of seafood and oysters... high meat, organs, wild herbs and mushrooms for "medicine"... spend time in the wild. Away from cities and high EMF polluted areas. Barefoot... naked in the sun. Swim in rivers, lakes and even better, the ocean. Get natural light, avoid all fake.. also electronics as much as possible. You will sleep like a kid again, which is important for healing. Avoid chemicals and anything that could disturb healing. That way you will get all the healing elements Nature offers us, for free.
Love.
We need to not forget we are made of body, soul and spirit... and they all need to get nourished

This is not what people think of "the easy way". But I know deep in my heart it will work. Illness is because we are so disconnected from where we came. But we can re connect. It just means we are going to do things very different than most in today's world. Are we willing to? That is the question. When people see they have to give up their comfort and what they are used to, many rather stay sick. But others genuinely want health but they do not know how....

Van, I think the thing that we have switched diets in the past is a good thing, we always seek for the better! We are not stubborn in that regard that when realizing something do not work we can change things. And it also depends on where you live, season and many things, what foods might be the best right now.

The world changes. What is the best food for me to eat today might not be so in the future.

I am not a guru, that is the problem...lol I am just a student. But I would be totally willing to meet and talk and help with what I can and know if she lived close to here.
Where / in what country does she live?

The AGE meter was a friend of family's ownership. There are only very few in Finland at this time, maybe 2 or 3. That is what he said and I believe it, it is a pretty new thing here. It is expensive I would not have the money to buy one..lol he had the small variant and said it cost 3000 € or more

My family members that was there were amazed. Influenced? They see my lifestyle every day..lol and they know the benefits and they totally believe them and want them too but they lack discipline to do it radical enough to have big impact. They do eat better now than before, my parents. They also have no acute health issues so that might make one think, no need to change anything.

My younger brother, 21 yo, had the worse readings, he was even older than his age, meter showed 23 yo, he also measured 2 times like me to be sure. He fell back to worse eating patterns after the event, as he had weeks before changed to a strict high raw Paleo WOE with almost no carbs but maybe he got disappointed he had not better readings. But it takes time, and you need patience. That is what people often do not have, if they do not get big results fast they give in for cravings etc. IDK if he had other influence too... my parents are very religious and those folks often thinks, God saves me, I can eat and drink whatever I like. I in fact do not really know what happened, but after the event he was eating candy. Sad actually, he would need healing so bad, he has messed with drugs and alcohol a lot in his younger years. I think he tends to depression too, he often seems  not too happy. there is something he struggles with for  years. But he does  not say too much... But only he can change himself and his life so I need to not worry too much. He knows I will always help him if he needs. But he needs to want it from his whole heart or it will not last. But he does way better than for years - that makes me happy. Maybe he has a slow pace  :)

I think Sabertooths advice is spot on. I cannot say about Apricot seeds. I do not believe a single component like this will help such serious conditions and body unbalance like cancer.

Have your mother done any of the advice I gave you in the beginning of this thread?

Remember, you cannot change anyone except of you. You might have to face this painful reality pretty soon. I have. If she is not willing to do the "uncomfortable" changes I very much doubt apricot seeds or any other "wonder pill or herb" might help.....

338
Last time I did my blood work around 5 years ago my HDL and LDL numbers were exactly like yours.  Despite high numbers the ratio total/HDL is very nice.  And low trigs is a good thing too.

I would totally not worry about this.

YS you are carnivore too are you?

I would be so curious to see what the bloodwork of omnivore rawfooders with high fruit consumption  looks like, and their AGE levels too

I think lots of cholesterol is  great for the hormones.. at least mine are.. pretty boiling!   :o

339
Yes Jessica I think I get younger and younger...lol pretty fun  ;D but I am not complaining! The absence of any health issues is totally amazing. When I look around people have so many issues. I am very lucky. I have not strong genes either... I had many issues before changing my lifestyle. My siblings have not the best health either, mental and other issues are common. Not anything major maybe but many things from little energy/fatigue to allergies, to deficiencies to poor cognition/mental issues....

My mom and dad belong to a old generation that grew up in a different world, and they have never smoked or used alcohol heavily etc. because of their religion. Also do not use medicines and hormones etc. Living outside the cities and avoiding electronics (never had TV etc.) have probably helped a lot too. They live a pretty healthy lifestyle going early to bed and such even if their food is pretty normal food, better last years for sure since I live here, way less bread and sweets etc and more fish and lamb... But they eat cooked, they are not able to eat much raw animal food at all except graved lachs maybe  ;)

So good for you starting CT! Yes, jumps into the river are magic for sure! I am not in for long at all... maybe a minute or two? Water is around 5 degree C right now, it is rainy and warm here.. no snow so far! If I stay in longer I must put on wool socks or my toes suffer. I swim a short round and that's it, sometimes I dive 3 times (always when I have washed my hair before dipping - river water works great as a balsam  :)) I love the diving especially... makes me high  ;D

When I go to sleep my bed is ice cold and it feels baaad... grrr but in a minute I am heating up and my body is a furnace lol I love that!

340
Yeah... I was very disappointed with my high FBG too to be honest - at first. After searching a bit... not anymore.

I live in a cold country, I do cold ice baths.. have it at 15-16 degree C in my apartment.. in my bedroom even freezing cold. The glucose in my body serves as a anti freeze from evolution. It is why we have so much diabetes up North, the blessing turns to a curse when we go against natures laws. When people eat carbs in winter and have it warm 24/7 it becomes an illness instead. This is not how nature meant it to be.

That all my other blood work is great, feeling is great, no hunger pangs or fatigue.. and even AGEs are super, shows a high blood glucose in a ketogenic diet means nothing bad.... it is meant to be so in winter.
Frogs survive because their bodies get loaded with glucose in winter...

GS, male attention have not been an issue... lol I am choosing to be alone right now to get some stuff done.... otherwise I rather need to fight the men off so to say  -X

Sabertooth I am so proud of you...! We need more of those daring souls that burn to change things for the better. If I can help you in any way with your endeavour please let me know (just money this girl does not have.. -[)

My cholesterol levels look pretty much like yours BTW... just got my labs back - everything normal, only concern of my doctor was the labs below..lol

HDL was 119 mg/dl
LDL was 193,3 mg/dl
Triglycerides 43,4 mg/dl

But he told me on the phone, he will forgive the high levels because of my excellent HDL, and not push any medication on me  ;)

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / I got my AGE levels measured... ! Wow
« on: November 21, 2013, 06:00:06 pm »
Yesterday got my AGE levels measured with a AGE Reader (DiagnOptics Technologies BV, Groningen, The Netherlands) that works using skin autofluorescence (SAF). It is a pretty new thing, this link is about one study done

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3672176/

Some in my family got it measured too. You need to put in your real age, then measure and it will tell you what you biologic age is according to your body's accumulated AGE's. My mom was 54 (real age 61) and my dad had about the same numbers, a little worse. My bro had 23 (real age 21), he has not lived a healthy life until now, but since a month or so he does great, eats and does good stuff. I am proud of him. Now... I was pretty excited what my number will be... I just had labs done last week and my cholesterol was so high and my glucose too

    HDL was 119 mg/dl
    LDL was 193,3 mg/dl
    Triglycerides 43,4 mg/dl

    glucose was 108 mg/dl

and I am eating so much fat and I though holey moley I will have so much AGEs in my body....... but.. my biologic age according to the machine was 5...!?  :o I had the best by far! They were all stunned.. but I figure it is because I eat almost 100% raw for almost 10 years? When I do not cook anything (almost) there will be way less AGEs? Or is it the lifestyle I am doing? The Kruse style? IDK but I am so happy now! You see... I  have been warned from some raw food people that eating so much protein and fat and coconut oil will make huge amounts of AGEs in my body and it will be very bad for my health and I will age fast. I did not listen to them and now it seems my diet is just right. Maybe my high glucose levels are not bad at all either, maybe my body have just made some anti freeze to take me safe through the winter

I was not too surprised though to be honest - I really feel like I am 5 yo  ;D

I think this is a great testimonial for the raw vegans that fear animal proteins and fat. I have been eating high animal protein for years now..... Maybe the thing I decided to quit fruits etc years ago was not a bad decision  :)

343
I got some weird increased heart beats... I wonder if I ate too much fat? I truly gorged on it.... because I thought it was so delicious, and I digest it just perfectly well....
I think I might have gotten a too deep ketosis? that is what can happen too I found out.. and increased heart beat is one symptom. Have you ever experienced this 24isours?

Great interview raw-al. Exactly what I have come to too, in my own research.

I think this information was pretty interesting too, something the Vegans should think about eating their flax seeds for Omega 3.....  ???

Quote
And as I’ve pointed out elsewhere, eating plant sources of omega-3 like flax or walnuts doesn’t cut it, because only a very small percentage (i.e. about one-half percent) of the short-chain omega-3 fats found in plants get converted into the beneficial long-chain omega-3 fat DHA.

LOL.... that is what I knew Barefoot Instincto! The easiest thing in world, zero costs. Just connect with the earth <3

People are weird..... they rather run away from natures wisdom and healing powers... even if it is all for free  ;)

According to the database 100 grams of beef liver has 714 % daily value of Copper, when the same amount of lambs liver has only 354 % DV.

100 grams of Beef liver has 634 % DV vit. A when 100 grams lambs liver has 499 %. I guess lambs liver might the better choice for some of us at least?

I do wonder why lambs liver has a much higher inflammatory response (highly inflammatory when beef liver is only mildly inflammatory) according to the same nutrient database.. I do not understand... maybe it is because it is cooked?

Oh man ST.... priceless...! Please tell us, if you have time, what are the markers of health in an animal to look after! We have lambs too, slaughter them our self (my brothers do it) and chickens and I really have not much knowledge about these things.

I sometimes find weird stuff in the raw beef fat I eat... like some cysts? I wonder if they are not good to eat. I think I ate one tiny piece of something in my fat yesterday that tasted a bit weird.

349
It might be the copper in the liver..... if you have got too much of it in your body - that reacts if you are in a high EMF environment. Unbalanced amounts of transition metals in our body becomes dangerous when we are exposed to high EMF. In cities today we are practically getting "microwaved" with wifi's and cellphones etc. You know what happens if you put copper in a microwave?

I would say good idea to stay away from liver for a while, your body knows what it needs

A high fat diet like you do it is the best diet to protect our body from the damage EMF does to our bodies, BTW.  :)

General Discussion / Re: Meat safety
« on: October 31, 2013, 02:46:43 pm »
Good advice from Dr D.

That said, I have myself been eating all kind of raw meats... plastic wrapped... old... ground meats, even grain fed etc. without issues. But it is good to be careful in the beginning, and always aim for the best! I use to store my meats on a wooden plate in the fridge, open. or in a glass bowl. The thing you need to be concerned about is Botulism (you can google it and check the symptoms then you will know, knowledge is always good for safety). It can kill you. But that becomes dangerous only when no oxygen present, that is why you need to be careful with plastic wrapped meats. I have taken the risk many times because I had no other food source than vacuumed stored meat, and I never got sick so far, but it is dangerous and I would never recommend it for others.
