Hot Topics / New wave of anti-meat studies in newspapers
« on: November 26, 2010, 08:14:48 pm »
I've come across several recently on the front page of many news websites/newspaper. They are getting even more ridiculous than before, look at this one

"Eggs worse than KFC Double Down"
http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2010/11/03/15935426.html

"Single egg yolk can double coronary risk: study
Three researchers say it's a myth that dietary cholesterol is not a concern for heart, stroke"

They suggest replacing meat with sunflower oil.

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / unreal appetite
« on: July 07, 2010, 02:54:32 am »
I've been eating raw meat on and off for 6 months now, but it's only been 5 weeks since i'm 100% raw, very low carb, RZC on most days. In the last couple of days, my appetite has literally doubled, yesterday i ate ~1.4 kg of meat! I've never eaten so much in my life. Has anyone experienced this? I'm not a big guy - average weight and height, i exercise but not that much, why is my body requiring so much food, perhaps it's rebuilding muscles? I was into fruitarianism for 2 years prior to discovering raw meat.

This video was on the front page of youtube

I've never seen so much ignorance from a non-vegan. He's just one example of why i never ever discuss nutrition with people, there are so many misconceptions that are accepted as facts/common knowledge, it's a lost cause to discuss things like eating large amount of raw meat, 9 out of 10 people look at you like you're from another planet.

Is RZC possible without eating extra fat?

Say a diet of mostly grassfed lamb, calorie intake: ~60% from fat,  ~40% from protein, is that viable?  Is anyone on a similar diet?

At the moment, i do not have a source of grassfed fat. Anything grainfed gives me diarrhea, even yolks, that's why i'm asking.

Journals / My experience on RPD
« on: June 25, 2010, 08:06:44 am »
I'm not much of a journal person, I just wanna report something that might be of value to others.

I've been on RPD on and off for about 6 months now. I'm mentioning 'off' because i'd often get diarrhea on RPD so i'd go back to high-fruit diet or even S.A.D. The problem was that some of the meat i was eating was from the supermarket (grainfed), when i switched to grassfed meat exclusively, no more diarrhea. I know there's been other members who have suffered from diarrhea, some say that happens when you transition from SAD to RPD but that's not always the case, grainfed meat can be the culprit.

Health / Questions on digestion
« on: March 18, 2010, 01:23:44 pm »
Does anyone take HCL supps or Apple cider vinegar and notice improvements in digestion?

Is there anything else that can improve digestion of fat and meat?

I've noticed that organs digest easier than muscle meat and my stomach feels less heavy, why would that be? Is that the case for everyone?

Feel free to add anything relevant to digestion. I believe my candida-related problems come from hypochlorhydria (low stomach acid).

General Discussion / What should i tell a butcher to get suet?
« on: March 02, 2010, 03:50:59 am »
I asked for suet and he asked me what it was for, I said cuts of meat are too lean to my liking so i want more fat. I guess that was the wrong answer to give because he wouldn't sell me any.

What should i say next time? Is it difficult to get suet?

Off Topic / The most paleo-related movie i know of
« on: February 03, 2010, 05:22:42 pm »
I think people on this forum would very much enjoy this movie, i loved it, it's probably in my top 5.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0756683/

trailer: http://www.manfromearth.com/MFE-Media-Trailer.html

plot: An impromptu goodbye party for Professor John Oldman becomes a mysterious interrogation after the retiring scholar reveals to his colleagues he is an immortal who has walked the earth for 14,000 years

The movie is on most torrent sites and the producer is for file-sharing so don't hesitate to download it. It's also on DVD and BluRay.

Does anyone browse that website on a daily basis? I do, it's fascinating.

You will see some very physically sick people there. Mentally too :(

Today's update was just over the top, this is one of the worse i've seen   http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=8913
So many things wrong with that guy's body. He has the arms of a 130 lbs man and the belly of a 300 lbs. This woman seemed to suffer from the same problem http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=8935
What condition causes that?
