Lol. There is no way you can compare junk food, which I am surprised you ate out of peer pressure, to lightly cooked pork, lamb or beef, unseasoned, no sides.

Good point.

And thank you Iguana for your insight.

When people on this forum would say they feel sick after eating cooked food, i thought they were just being elitist. After 5 weeks of 100% raw, close to RZC, i was offered a Mars bar, i declined but the fucker insisted so i took it and ate half of it. And as a result, i've been having a slight stomach ache for the last 12 hours, i can't imagine what would've been the effect of a big, cooked meal.

I'm not sure how in the future i will deal with the pressure of eating cooked meal with other people, that's gonna be a nightmare.

We give Durian Rider a lot of power by paying so much attention to him.  We also give him power by not posting our own stories to YouTube or similar media.

DR is indirectly one of the biggest RPD promoter, the 1st time i heard about raw paleo was on raw vegan forums. Before that, eating raw meat had not even occurred to me.

I would like to know how it is possible to get 25% of your calories from carbs when you're in the wild. Apparently, there are african tribes with a diet of 75% carbs, how is that possible?  I live next to a produce market and i'd find it very difficult to live all my life on a 75% plant diet (excluding grains), it requires eating serious amount of fruit, at least a dozen of pieces of high-calorie fruit everyday, wild edibles/leaves/etc contain pretty much no calories so what do these tribes actually eat? Common sense tells me every tribe in the world eats 95% + animal food.

You're a wise man Sabertooth. If i ever have children, i will not tell people i feed them raw meat. People are so bacteria-phobic here, they'd call Child Protective Services. Telling people about this diet is never a good idea. I'm surprised sushi is even legal in Canada. What's ridiculous is that everyone will agree that sushi and sashimi is super healthy but if you mention eating raw meat, they think you're poisoning yourself. Completely illogical.

i don't have many BMs and they're small, i'm fairly certain my digestion is good, no feeling of heaviness in my stomach, no bloating, my stomach is flat if i eat ZC.

I've been eating raw meat on and off for 6 months now, but it's only been 5 weeks since i'm 100% raw, very low carb, RZC on most days. In the last couple of days, my appetite has literally doubled, yesterday i ate ~1.4 kg of meat! I've never eaten so much in my life. Has anyone experienced this? I'm not a big guy - average weight and height, i exercise but not that much, why is my body requiring so much food, perhaps it's rebuilding muscles? I was into fruitarianism for 2 years prior to discovering raw meat.

If your body agrees with grains, why are you even here?   I'd never ever be on RPD if i could enjoy pizza, beer and dessert everyday. I eat raw meat because i don't have a choice.

I don't think he meant to come off as rude---I am also curious about the question.

He was rude to cows! I think i've answered the question, his assumption than cow fat is of lower quality is plain wrong.

Why do you make the assumption that the fat in your belly is of higher quality than cow fat? The arrogance! It's probably the opposite since you're coming from years of abusing protein shakes manufactured in someone's basement, steroids and whatever else crap gym rats put in their body.

Let's make 2 assumptions:
1 - you are more intelligent than a cow
I'd say cows are more intelligent than you when it comes to health.

My food options have dwindled due to a vicious cycle of Candida/Leaky Gut/Food Allergies to where some grass-finished meats as well as some fish sit well with my body and that's all I can eat.

same here man. I didn't choose this diet, it just happens to be the only diet that keeps candida symptoms at bay. Can you tolerate any amount of carb at all?

Well, well, that's the pillar of the low carb theory, isn't it?  Well, what if that's wrong?

I couldn't give a rat's ass about insulin, resistance and people's theories about it. We eat a diet high in meat because we feel better on it, and that diet happens to be low carb, eating low-carb was never the primary goal/focus.

I was like you too, I'd eat 6 to 12 yolks a day coz i had no source of good fat and people on this forum are obsessed with fat. Eventually yolks started giving me the runs and now i can barely tolerate more than 1 a day. In my case, more fat was not better.

To that end... I tried eating a cooked chicken breast about a year ago to see if it could be an occasional social food option... nope!  My stomach hurt so much until I finally vomit.  eeeeesh!  Maybe now things would be different? only I don't care to try.  Cooked fats of any kind zap my energy, make me feel 'off'.

You haven't touched any cooked food in a year?

General Discussion / Re: Reaction to rice
« on: July 02, 2010, 10:27:37 am »
Well, biologically, we cannot "need" carbs as we have no carbohydrate requirement. I assume you are meaning that some "feel" better with carbs or like to have them for variety, social reasons, or need them in a psychological sense.

Yes, "feel better" would be more accurate. If we needed carbs to survive, the last ice age would've wiped us out off the planet, and inuits and Siberian tribes would not exist either.

It is possible some people feel better with some carbs because the meat they eat is nowhere near the quality of wild meat. Or it's the result of years of abusing carbs.

Some people do need carbs, not everyone does well on RZC.

What matters is what you eat 90% of the time. I'm sure plenty of people here cheats in social occasions and no one died yet. A piece of bread once in a while will not negate all the benefits from raw meat.

how much fat does the actual marrow contain

By calories, caribou marrow is 97% fat, 3% protein. Caribou is the only marrow i've seen on any nutrition database.

General Discussion / Re: Problem: Lamb? Fat? Lamb fat?
« on: July 02, 2010, 01:40:39 am »
I love NZ lamb, the taste is amazing. Does anyone think it could be grass-finished? Somebody pointed out that the layers of fat are a little too thick to be 100% grass-fed, i'd like an experienced RPD'er to look into that please! I've searched on google extensively and could not find anything about NZ lamb being grain-finished. I eat it quite a lot since it's the cheapest grassfed meat i have access to and the best tasting.

You should ask Brock Lesnar about protein shakes, maybe he could show you pictures of his endoscopy with holes in his stomach.

I get some kind of heart arrhythmia when i consume ANY plant oil, including olive oil and coconut oil. For the life of me, i can't understand why some people on this forum consume coconut oil. I'd eat 10 pounds of pasta, drink 2L of Pepsi and smoke a pack of cigarettes before touching a spoonful of vegetal oil, my body reacts to vegetal oil like no other food, i don't know why.

I've never seen so much ignorance from a non-vegan. He's just one example of why i never ever discuss nutrition with people, there are so many misconceptions that are accepted as facts/common knowledge, it's a lost cause to discuss things like eating large amount of raw meat, 9 out of 10 people look at you like you're from another planet.
