General Discussion / Re: Eating Frozen Meat

Drying destroys vitamins pretty badly, more so than cooking for many vitamins. What would William say?  ;D

Fascinating!

"10% from insect larva and honey"

That sounds either like a lot of larva or a lot of honey. Maybe honey isn't that rare in the wild?

Grass-fed lamb shoulder chops can be a little marbled.

Horse meat sold in my province is extremely lean, not a shred of fat :(

Your story is similar to mine and others on this forum. Be patient, it seems to takes several months or years to fully recover from adrenal fatigue and candida. And since it sounds like you're Zero-Carb, beware of/ignore the few anti-ZC people on this forum.

I had cooked roast beef a few days ago, i had not touched any cooked meat in about 3 months and as a result, i got diarrhea. I never had diarrhea when i was Cooked-ZC last year. Seems like my stomach can't handle cooked meat anymore. Has this happened to anyone?

Off Topic / Re: 5 movies list
« on: December 25, 2010, 10:25:26 am »
This is a thread for recommending movies:-

1) "The Wages of Fear" by Clouzot. The ultimate suspense film.

2) "Le Corbeau" by Clouzot. Excellent film about paranoia.

3) "Jean de Florette" by Claude Berri.

4) "Manon des Sources" by Claude Berri, sequel to Jean de Florette.

5) "Dune" by David Lynch.

Since you seem to like french films, i'd suggest 'Caché' by Michael Haneke.

if i remember correctly, Aajonus says there is no problem with grainfed meat. Actual reports that grainfed meat causes problems seem pretty rare, it seems more like an opinion than a fact.

lol @ bolting food

Is that the final stage of being a true paleo man, or is that when you start using your sense of smell to locate preys? How many years of being RPD does it take to reach that uber stage?

Any truth to the claim that cured meat causes colon cancer? That alone is a good reason to avoid nitrates.

It's nice to have outside opinions of what is 'raw paleo' so that a forum doesn't become a circle jerk.

Well, some people think that raw dairy fouls up one's growth hormones, either increasing or decreasing them in childhood, thus leading to changes in height.

That could also explain why women nowadays have such big breasts. North Americans eat a lot of dairy and i'm pretty sure women here have the biggest breasts in the world. Well, that's debatable i guess.

Health / Re: White Tongue-what is it?
« on: December 18, 2010, 03:26:16 pm »
I believe eating vegetables will help with the white tongue. I can't say
why scientifically or specifically, but that eating raw vegetables like
beets, chard, kale, collards, carrots, cabbage, celery, sunchokes, radishes, etc.
can help to keep your tongue and GI tract clean.

has that been your experience? I don't eat any veggie at all. Might be worth a try.

My tongue has had a white coating since forever, 6 months of RPD hasn't helped yet.

My candida symptoms flare up when i eat cured meat. Cooked meat doesn't have that effect on me. I avoid any meat with nitrites, nitrates, etc.  But what a shame, they taste so good.

No cheating here. If i start eating cooked food, there's a risk i will not stop so I'm not taking any chance.

Get off this diet then. If i could be healthy eating pizza everyday, I'd eat pizza everyday. RPD is not the answer to everything. Eat whatever it is you were eating before, enjoy your life and consider yourself lucky.

I was raw vegan and not doing well, i didn't even know some people ate raw meat. One day i'm on youtube watching raw food videos and this woman was raving about raw meat, she was pretty convincing so i gave it a try.
Here's the video

If you are in good health, keep doing what you're doing, whatever it is you're eating.

If you have health problems, then you shouldn't need any extra motivation.

73
In before someone ranting about ratio/calories.

What veggies do you eat?
Why no fruit?
Do you eat any extra fat?

Health / Re: Help! I'm being eaten alive by fungi, do I need high meat?
« on: December 11, 2010, 03:42:44 am »
I've been ZC or VLC for over 6 months now, i still have some candida symptoms. I don't expect to be at maximum health for a few years, nor should you, Systemic candida is serious stuff and takes a long time to heal. I've been reading the Candida forum on curezone for like 10 years, 100 000+ posts, and i've never heard of anyone being cured with a quick fix. In fact, the very rare cure testimonials on candida forums, it's usually from people who went raw while the rest of the people who take antifungals, supplements, etc never get better. That's pretty much how i'd sum up candida forums. I really need to experiment with high-meat to see if it'd speed up my recovery.

There have always been obstacles when it comes to speaking truthfully and I would lie about my children to protect them from the idiots, I am conflicted about how much I should say to a indiscriminate mob.

You are a wise man. If i had children, i would never tell anyone i feed them raw meat either. Recently, i heard on the news about an american man who lost custody of his children because he is an atheist. It only takes one moronic judge to wreck your life, I'm sure there's a few of them who would have a problem with raw meat, at least in North America. I wouldn't be surprised if one day, we hear of a vengeful ex-wife/husband using raw meat as an argument in a custody battle.
