Primal Diet / Re: Raw Unheated Honey
« on: March 05, 2011, 12:59:10 am »
Yesterday there was reportage about African tribe. The people look great with good muscles, especially biceps (though not like bodybuilders ?)
The most valuable thing for them is HONEY! The men are ready to die for it! It is very dangerous business to collect honey. A man must climb on the tree (I suppose around 15 m)and with a axe “open” the trunk, collect honey combs and put it into the bucket, descend it down to the ground.
The whole process is very “primitive”, climbing with liana like rope loop device, bucket is from leaves and branches, man is practically naked. (I wonder how he survives?... Might be bees do not touch him?).
The only certain thing is: honey is treasure for these people and they eat it with big pleasure. But keep in mind that it is REAL honey...

Any cheese (I like it very much!) makes my joints inflamed. I had to quit cheese...

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Re: Pioneer's Pet food only Journal

Great Pioneer! Waiting for your pics and blood work. It is rather important to get analysis confirmation of what you see and feel. Bcs very often the sense of well-being is just temporary exiting of new way of nourishing but if one gets blood work with improvements it is serious confirmation of right direction. All the best and keep us informed.

I do use supermarket meat keeping it in the fridge open and turn over every day
for aeration.
During the summer I went to the farm and bought grass-fed but
they do not have meat during the winter and their own meat (frozen) in the health shop
costs way more.
Look around your place maybe U can find farm with grass-fed not far from your place.
Also there is wild fish (like wild salmon or macrel0 and some times I buy NZ lamb hopping it is
grass-fed.
All the best.

Omnivorous Raw Paleo Diet / Re: Your experience with DATES?
« on: December 16, 2010, 10:04:17 pm »
I like them TOO much! They are very addictive. Probably in very moderate qnt could be good but It is very difficult to get "stop" signal. According to inflammation index they are very much pro-inflammation (if belive source of info). IMHO, I drop them for good...

Info / News Items / Announcements / Re: RUSSIAN RAW PALEO DIET FORUM

Achillezzz and Yuli, it would be nice to write on this site from time to time bcs it is very undeveloped with few participants and your experience, plus experience of local members would be fresh addition.
Another site http://supersyroed.mybb.ru moderated by Kosmonaut is more active but very broad, about everything.

Just checked a lot of info re pro and anti-inflammation food (from given sites). Mostly it looks like right direction.
But I was in the condition when my staple food was raw mackerel and sauerkraut (fish - high anti-inflam, fermented cabbage - slightly but still anti). It was not bad by feelings (I was pills free) with some permanent hunger, but blood work was mess in any case! Especially in the way of inflammation markers...
From this site (nutrition analysis) the most safe meat is pork, beef, bison better grass-feed. Tallow - pro-inflam, lard - mild pro, lamb- pro, yolk - very much pro! That is strange I started after WF with yolks and did not feel any problem, when added raw meat, it started! From fruits best are pineapple and avocado. From nuts - pistachio, almond et flax, from fat - fish oil, flax, olive. Coconut - strongly pro! I ate it for 4 days with lemon, Inflammation was mild...
Thus, it is difficult to tell if given info is proved...

From 2008 gluten-free, it means 3 full years. Well, enough time to be free. Plus a lot of serious water fasting - the only real working stuff for me!

Unfortunately I am in the same shoes. I tried to find anything about inflammation and autoimmune deceases bcs I think they all got the same origin.
I tried fruitarian, felt not so bad but blood work was mess. Vegetarian raw kept me on the flow but inflammation was there all the time (I did not take any pills though). I switch to raw paleo and cooked paleo (due to circumstances). Cooked gives more inflammation but raw too! I did coconut oil detox (4 days) and continue paleo: eggs, fat, meat. Still no good. I will continue till next blood work to get facts on the hand to make further decision.
The only things that worked for me: green leaves, carrots, coconut oil, looks like eggs.
In my mind the green salads and eggs - my last frontier if paleo does not work.
IMHO: first - drop all gluten stuff, next step - sweet, next step - milk product. Sometimes even first step is enough. Of course more raw -better.
I recommend also Dr.Brass reading. It is free on the net.

I've just done the same! 4 days water-lemon-salt-coconut butter (More difficult than WF for me) and switched to eggs-fat-meat. Nothing to report for now (just three days on such regiment) but before detox I got the same plus one meal of green salad with olive oil. Thus I've not seen any problem.
BTW, GS, I found and tried bitter melon, like it...

General Discussion / Re: What rawpalaeo foods are you eating right now?
« on: October 09, 2010, 02:25:02 am »
Hi guys,

I found Ray Mears's youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASIR_WWelAQ&feature=more_related "Headwaters Of The Orinoco Ray Mears S2E3 part 1" wild tribe of South America. They eat palm hard and wild honey. It looks like all discussion around RP food are based on modern idea. From video it is obvious that human likes everything tasty without back-thought re diet restrictions  :D

Practically the same experience: rendered duck fat tastes really god, did not eat too much to check result but it is kind of replacement for butter (which is not raw in Canada and I avoid it in any case for personal reason).

There are several good documentary around re financial system and it's "design" but I doubt that people know about them. Junk culture feeds population and "protect" it from thinking re what's going on and why there are crisis and who "pays" them off!

General Discussion / Re: Hydration, how?
« on: August 21, 2010, 11:30:54 pm »
It is not "fasting" at all. One could call it IF but actually it is more like warrior diet.
I practice water fasting three-four times per year (around week plus-minus two days).
This way body switches to feed itself on its own sources and to heal.
Actually I feel much better and free from inflammation pain, full of energy from 6th day
till 9th day of WF. I tried one meal plan, so called juice fasting, one meal of green veggies,
one week of fruits mono eating (one fruit for one meal). NOTHING can compare with WF
by effect on my condition.
But again It is good for me could not be "universal" advise.

I use  sea salt for meat, fish and fat. Re fruit I am afraid to use them as I got huge craving for them
practically at once. I got no problem with green veggies, avocado, cucumbers. I will try green juice but
it is not always practical when I am out from home.

General Discussion / Hydration, how?
« on: August 20, 2010, 11:58:56 pm »
Hydration for the joints. I tried water but it seems that it is passing through without any
effect! Sometimes I feel dryness in my mouth but drinking water gives no relief. Most of my diet
is raw meat fat (I try to keep it high) and raw eggs whole or yolk. I use now bone broth (after eating marrow)
trying to lubricate joints, sometimes I eat egg white as omelet and cooked meat for socializing.
I do not want to use milk product in any way. What else can help? Green juice? Green tea? Maybe cucumbers?
Any ideas?
