General Discussion / Methodology of Structuring One's Diet
« on: May 08, 2011, 11:14:28 pm »
Given that Paleolithic humans were not given the benefit of being able to construct one's diet at their will, I would like to presume that their constitution (among other things) helped them to understand how much to eat, what to eat and why.

I'm curious as to how RAF-ers structure their diet. How do I know if I'm eating too much liver, or too much fat? I can understand that a certain amount of time and testing is necessary to determine this independently, but where is a solid foundation to begin from?

I'm particularly interested to hear from people such as lex_rooker and others who seem to have structured diets. How did you form such structures and why?

Thawing frozen meat at room temperature/outdoors (in the sunlight, for example) shouldn't be a concern, should it? The food is simply aging and the bacteria should be beneficial if anything, correct?

PS. I just saw my cat hunt a fly and after watching it crawl around shortly, it squished it, then preceded to eat and and I thought about dinner.  >D

Welcoming Committee / Salutations from a Recent Convert!
« on: May 07, 2011, 03:05:35 am »
Hello!

I was a vegetarian who was experimenting with Dr. Bass's simple raw diet when I discovered an interview with Aajonus Vonderplanitz. I had heard of the raw, "caveman", paleo diets and after hearing of Vonderplanitz's personal experience, I thought: I have to try this right now.

I thought that eat raw meat would be difficult, but it was so succulent and tasty that I hardly needed the salt! I downed the whole pound without a bit of trouble! (I enjoyed amazing quality locally raised grass-fed beef.) My experience left me so astonished I had to post here. I have never felt a rush of vital energy and I now understand how my diet did not consist nearly enough protein or fats.  -\

I'm excited to learn more about the benefits of adding raw meats and animal parts to my diet!

Cheers to bursting vitality!  O0
