According to carnivore... he's French.Never trust the french ....
When I eat lots of raw fat(it's also happened to be lamb when it's been worst, but it could just be because the lamb I've had has been higher in fat than the beef), why does it seem to just sit and 'rot' in my system, make my lips dry, make my muscles ache, make me feel devoid of energy and nauseous?
Edit: This fat has been from: Lamb Chops, Neck of Lamb, Lamb Ribs & Shoulder of Lamb. All have lots of fat...
Hi Lex,
Do the number of Mitochondria increase in an 'evolution-style' way? That is: When you are eating lots of fat relative to protein/carbs, and you push yourself e.g. physical exercise, are the cells without sufficient mitochondria more likely to die, and as the body repairs it's cells divide, and each time there are more mitochondria-rich cells dividing?
If not, how does it work?
And why is it that the metabolism of ketones takes more mitochondria than glucose metabolism to be effective 'in the first place'? Is this something to do with how fat needs more oxygen in order to be metabolised?
[1mass unit of fat would have 2energy units
1mass unit of carbohydrate would have 1 energy units
But to use the one mass unit of fat takes 0.5 energy units, and to use 1 mass unit of carbohydrate takes 0.2 energy units(0.4 if you double it for the same return as fat, so 0.1 less expenditure per 2energy units).]
Or something like that...? That small difference couldn't account for needing so many more Mitochondria could it? What more is there to this?
Edit: Is it not more to do with what transports the ketones to the mitochonria; e.g. L-Carnatine? I only just read about this(http://www.nahanniriverherbs.com/94,321) and you may have read hundreds of articles so I'm just asking... Would it be to do with how the body absorbs this L-carnatine? That is: It comes from meat, so if you are not yet good at absorbing it would you need more meat relative to fat until you get better at this? But anyway... just asking if it's more about the pathway of the ketones from the liver->blood->mitochondria, than the mitochondria themselves.
Hm... The Paleonu guy said it wasn't really a supplement, but a replacement. Since a lot of people don't get much sunlight, but paleo people would get lots of it? I dunno.
I think you're in england. You don't have green grass this time of year. So my point was that unless you're ordering your eggs from southern parts of europe, your eggs are from chickens that are eating primarily grain. That's all. I have a rooster, he did little to change the quality of the eggs from my chickens. I have heard that supposedly they're easier to digest or something, but didn't notice any difference. You can tell the degree of how much green a chicken eats as it shows directly in the deep color intensity of their yolks.
awesome william i will definitely have to read up on this
there is a man who sells miraclays.com calcium bentonite clay at my work and i have been trying to convince him that, if he really wants a miracle, he needs a more viable source, as i can tell by taste his clay is dead when i compare it to clay i gather myself...having a little scientific backing other then "dude it tastes dead" will definitely help the legitimacy of my argument ha!
Fat makes simple carbs slower to absorb, but if you eat a lot of honey some spike could occur.
Polyamory wasn't practised by nativd tribes, it's just an unusual modern phenomenon. Now, polygamy/polyandry was undoubtedly practised in such tribes. Moving this to the hot topics forum, given the controversial nature of conspiracy theories.
That's my view too. Besides, eggs, however raw, come 99.9% of the time from grainfed fowl. This is because in order to lay eggs all year round the birds must be fed on a diet very high in grains.
I eat raw eggs rarely. I nowadays avoid the egg-white because of the issues re avidin(I can't get hold of fertilised eggs in the UK).
My beef about all this evolution mind games is that most of our own raw paleo kind are not reproducing yet.... but there is hope that they would reproduce... so we can see this evolution "game" play out. Before any evolution can be done, you must have paleo sex for real first.
I'd just be happy with best genetic expression.
David Wolfe has more recommendations to treat hair loss.
Here are some notes I took while listening to one of his recordings:
- the hair is mostly made of "sulfur" (found in: MSM, rain water, all hi protein are reach in sulfur - Spirulina, pollen, algae, maca [all contain sulfur bearing amino acids])
- mineralization in related to the cycle of the planets and especially the Moon (best results are when the Moon is moving towards fall [waxing] - your hair and nail will grow faster)
- silica (found in: nettle or nettle tea - reverses pattern baldness, horse tail - only from tea because if it's raw it has a vitamin B1 inhibitor, skin of cucumber, skin of tomatoes, wet grass)
- vitamin C (powder from plants, amla or amalaki, rose hip )
- only about 90% of the hair is growing and some of it stagnates
- use the power of grounding - touch the Earth (there is also such a thing as a grounding sleeping sheet)
- if we have too much DHT => pattern baldness (use natural DHT blockers, ex: Soapberry? [30:00])
- eat more superfoods
- stress is a HUGE factor - use the Ging herbs - Schizandra berry fortifies Ging, Deer Antler, Noni, Cordiceps mushroom, fo-te or ho sho wu (reverses gray hair)
- fresh vegetable juice every day
- pumpkin seed
- apply hemp seed oil on hair, or coconut oil
- sprout juices to reverse gray
- get a water softener because the hard water does not do good to the hair
If anyone tries some of this, please share your experience.
