Phil - You saved that! Warms my heart.  :-*

Even colloidal silver/dmso therapy which has been the most important for us personally is based upon how (because of the low oxygen high ph environment) the cancer cell becomes home to a microbe that can live in such an environment. Killing off the microbe changes the whole dynamic of the cell. The therapy also takes stress off of the rest of the immune system which is having to struggle in a low oxygen environment.

Remember how I did all that research on how almost all alternative therapy foods/supplements/diets had blood thinning components? I made long lists. What carries the oxygen? How do the components of the immune system get themselves to the cancer cells to fight it? Blood flow. Many green vegetables are extremely high in certain forms of k2 and thicken the blood. If someone is a bleeder they eat lots of salads to slow it down. Eating some greens will help the body to clot (which is obviously important if not overdone) - but the last thing you want to do with a cancer patient is have them clot more readily as their blood is likely already not flowing well enough. That is why 10zymes is such a valuable supplement for cancer sufferers. Not only does it have the pancreatic enzymes that are in such low supply with the compromised pancreases of cancer patients, but it also has nattokinase which is an enzyme that the pancreas makes to thin the blood when necessary. The better the blood flow - the more oxygen.

Another substance that is important when it comes to blood thinning is salicylates. Salicylates block the absorption of vitamin k and therefore have a blood thinning action. Aspirin (which is derived from white willow bark which is a cancer treatment herb) has a high concentration of salicylates. Many fruits have a high concentration as well including cherries, cranberries, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, oranges and tangerines. Honey is also high in salicylates.

Generally most meat, fish, dairy, grains and vegetables are not high in salicylates, but many types of fish do however have blood thinning properties due to their omega-3 fatty acid content. Grains however can actually thicken the blood.

Most of the longest living cultures have at least one tea that they drink that is blood thinning. Green tea would be an example. In a paleo diet the inclusion of berries would keep the blood thin and flowing and berries have many other substances that fight cancer in them - each berry has different cancer-fighting elements - but berries came up constantly during my research. Our ancestors also exercised and were outside much more than us. Exercise and vitamin D both thin the blood.

My suggestion to people using the ketogenic paleo diet to treat cancer that are not getting outdoors into the sun enough and getting exercise is to include a vitamin D supplement. Talk to your doctor about testing your vitamin D levels because they might be able to prescribe for you a much more easily absorbable form. Most doctors will test vitamin D levels if asked to. But if you can get outside into the sun and go for a walk, it is an important aspect of the diet and part of the reason why our ancestors did not get cancer. Just sitting outside on the grass and letting your bare feet touch the earth is powerful medicine.

Not every cancer is a fungus.
Some cancers are metabolic.
High fat high carb will increase metabolism and get rid of cancer.
Something like the theories of 180 degree health matt stone.
My friend Vander Gaditano has mastered this art of healing metabolic cancers.

I'm sorry GS - I'm a bit confused. Who said that cancer is a fungus?

The link Phil posted regarding honey said,
But they suggest they (honey products) may cause apoptosis (cell suicide) or have direct effects which are toxic to the cells, or which help the immune system fight the development of tumours.

I thought that the question regarding honey was about the ketogenic diet and if it counted as a sugar/carb to be avoided or not???

By the way "apoptosis" in the quote above can mean the normal death process of the cell. There are cures that are based upon killing out the microbe within the cancer cell and making it back into a normal cell so that it will die a normal death. Honey is anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal so part of how it might be working is by making the cells normal again by killing out the microbe. The best thing about these therapies is that they do not make for all the swelling, mess and clean up that therapies that directly kill cancer do so the process can be much faster. One of the big challenges of alternative therapies are that so many of them are so good at killing cancer cells that the detox from them can become a problem if done too fast.

Perhaps honey fits into the same category from what Phil posted as sugars linked to components that have been proven by science to have cancer cell killing properties. I have a list somewhere of all the common foods I could find like this if anyone is interested in incorporating a direct cancer-killing aspect to their ketogenic diet approach or who might not be able to get rid of all sugars/carbohydrates.

I'll add my plumber who I coached how to cure his terminal liver cancer 6 months to live.

http://www.curemanual.com/2010/10/liver-cancer-cured-mang-bens-video-testimony/

- colon cleanse
- kidney cleanse
- liver flushing with apples and egg yolk liver flushing
- and eating some raw meat

He followed my curemanual.com best to what he can understand.

I read your curemanual I think before I even arrived at the forum GS. Wonderful that you have done that for people.  :D  That plumber must be very happy. It's ironic that the first person to ever tell me of a natural cure for cancer was a plumber. It's a beautiful thing you made and do for people.

I have helped others who ask - just about everyone will either get cancer or have a loved one with cancer in their lifetimes with the diet and environment as it is these days. It can be daunting at times how many people there are that need help, want help, but have been given such simply horrendous advice and total mis-information by their doctors.

There are so many great cures. Literally Hundreds. As long as you don't do chemo or radiation or surgery - the cure rates are phenomenal.

Cutting out fake toxic foods, grains and processed sugars is often enough just by itself for slow-growing cancers. The immune system just has to be given a chance.

If chemo or radiation were done - there are STILL highly effective methods but by that time diet to improve the immune system is no longer enough because chemo and radiation destroy the immune system and organ function. But...... if there is time and any money at all left for alternative therapies that target cancer cells directly you can still do it. So much better to just help your body to heal from the beginning and not make it harder on the body.

There are cures that have been around from the 1950's with 90% cure rates - for all that time. How easy it is to cure cancer is a massive cover-up to preserve the big business that it is.

The ketogenic diet that we are discussing here has the added benefit of also being generally great for people with a host of other maladies as well. It is so good for the central nervous system that it is a highly successful therapy for children with seizure disorders.

Well - just wanted to put my two cents in how much hope there is and a few hints on what I would do to enhance fat metabolism if necessary. This is a great thing you are making here Phil. You might never know how many lives you save or make better with this - but a good work it most definitely is.

Dorothy, would you like to tell more about how your mother recovered? How was her diet, did she fasted?

The sister and father from my SIL both had cancer, ovarian cancer and prostate cancer. Quite recently. Both got cured with fasting on certain vegetablejuices for 40 days. My SIL just told me about it when they visited a week ago. So intresting! But that is like ketogenic WOE, just fasting with vege juices. They live in Yugoslavia and have no money for other cancer-treatment. My brother sent them the juices from Sweden, they don't cost much. Imagine, they was not even fresh-juiced vegejuices, just organic pure juices in bottle! Still helped so much.

Inger

Wow Inger, bottled juices. That's amazing.

This brings up a very important point. Every cancer patient has a compromised liver and pancreas and their bile systems are almost always backed up. That's why pancreatic cancer is the most deadly - the organ responsible for producing the enzymes to fight cancer is the organ that is ravished by cancer and unable to function. Sometimes a diet can work simply by taking some of the stress off the digestive system to let it heal. But there's a caveat.

I'll give you the example of my mother. She was very old and had had many diseases - most of which were well under control through diet having lived with me the previous 10 years. But when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the doctors did not expect her to live more than a few weeks. They would not give me appointments for 6 weeks later and..... because they did not expect her to live they gave her (without telling us) only a temporary stent in her bile duct. The procedure was very hard on her so I had to curtail her fat intake to make it so that she would not have to go through it again until I was able to get rid of the cancer and then hopefully it would be able to be taken out entirely. With this, the stent that was only supposed to last 8 weeks at the very most lasted 8 months instead. But the lack of fat had it's repercussions. My mother started to shake and stutter but none of the doctors would address it because they expected her dead very quickly. They would not let us see a neurologist until very close to the end of her life when they finally figured out that she lived so long that it was worth addressing. What was happening was that she had been misdiagnosed FIFTYYEARS earlier as having had a stroke when it was actually the start of Parkinson's Disease that had progressed very slowly. Without the good fats and with the intense immune stimulation that I was giving her with her cures (Parkinson's Disease is an auto-immune disease) her PD went into over-drive. Her central nervous system broke down. When she died a year later she had no cancer - she died because her central nervous system gave out. At the very end Phil was able to help me to bring her back from delirium. With a permanent stent in I could feed her good raw fat. She was then able to die in her senses, in no pain at all (unlike the terrible death pancreatic cancer would have been) and with no medications so that she could go peacefully in the middle of the night at home. But, if I had not removed the good fats because of the stent she would probably still be here and relatively healthy.

It is vitally important not to decrease other aspects of one's health in the process of getting rid of cancer. Cancer is as easy as pie to get rid of if you do not use the modern medical approach. The trick is to increase your general health at the same time!

The human central nervous system needs good fats..... yet..... with cancer the ability to process fats can be compromised. There are ways to support the body in being able to heal the liver/pancreas/bile system to better handle good fats.

The reason that the Budwig diet is so successful is because it takes flax oil and by-passes the liver by combining it with sulfured dairy. Another approach might be to help the liver to be able to do it's job well again. One way that many approaches use is to do liver flushes/cleanses like carrot and beet juice and other such things. The problem with these is that they can be quite a strain and would not allow the body to go into pure ketogenisis like what is being suggested in this thread. I could not do such things with my mother because with bile duct stent bile stones/slush could have gotten stuck. What I did instead was use peppermint - which literally dissolves bile stones and sludge and very very gently, but quickly and efficiently, cleanses this system and makes it stronger. Before I started it she was building up enough stones that they were contemplating taking out her gall bladder, but within a couple of months the stones and even sludge were pretty much gone. I highly recommend peppermint tea, tincture and oil to cleanse the bile. The other powerful ally could be milk thistle plant. It is a marvel at strengthening and supporting the liver. Lecithin might also be useful as it helps to break down fat.

One can avoid fat to de-stress compromised organs, one can by-pass the organs like in the Budwig protocol or one can try to rebuild and strengthen the organs. If it were me, knowing what I now know about how pivotal the central nervous system is to everything, I would choose to gently cleanse and strengthen the organs while giving the body the very best possible fats possible and not deprive the overall system of such important nutrients if at all possible. Gerson originally gave people raw liver because giving a person liver - strengthens their liver!

If you are on a ketogenic diet the cancer cells have to die. Logic dictates that it has to work because the cancer cells will have to starve. The trick is to do a ketogenic diet in a way that does the least amount of stress to the organs and supports the organs.

The last thing a cancer patient needs is poor quality meats with hormones, ingested pesticides etc. and with a compromised liver getting rid of the toxins that cooked meat produce is going to be even more of a challenge.

There are herbs that are used to fight parasite and bacteria that also fight cancer. If one is worried about eating raw meat with a compromised immune system these resources might also be used.

I'm sorry if this has gotten too long or if I didn't fully answer Inger's question - it's just that what I posted here I feel are things I learned that are most pertinent and too important to leave out for cancer sufferers that might be reading this.

Joejac - here's a little information regarding blood pressure I copied for you just in case you are not familiar because taking bp correctly can affect your results:

When the blood pressure (BP) is measured, the arm should be at the level of the heart. In other words, in the sitting and standing positions, the arm should be extended out straight and should be about 2-3 inches below the shoulder to approximate the level of the heart. If the arm is allowed to hang down straight, the BP may be falsely diminished by as much as 12 mm Hg. below its true value. This is not an issue when the person is lying down, as long as the arm is kept along side at the level of the body.

Normally, properly taken BP measurements show only minor variations with changes in position. Certain patients with an imbalance of the autonomic nervous system (ANS), however, may tend to have a fall in BP with the upright position. The ANS normally controls constriction (narrowing) and dilation (widening) of blood vessels and so helps regulate a person's BP. Such a fall in BP with standing is called postural hypotension (low blood pressure), which, when significant, can cause weakness, lightheadedness, and even fainting.

Also, if you did not know it, one must wait 15 minutes between each time taking your blood pressure to get accurate results.

Of course diet is the source of the cure for your problem.... but if you are not going to take medications and your blood pressure is at or below 90/50 it would be prudent to have some things around that in a less harmful way can bring it up for you. You do not want to pass out. I and others in my family and friends have used licorice for decades with no side-affects. It's always prudent to take them into consideration just in case of a long shot. Remember, licorice is the most used herb in the world. I just want to make sure you survive long enough to find good food and heal.

I personally think from my experiences in Spain (albeit decades ago) that if you can do it - find your way directly to the farmers. There are wonderful instructions here on this forum how to make pemmican and high meat and how to store large amounts of meat. If you could get a farmer to sell you even a portion of (or even a complete) animal - it might be the best way to get what you need. I was in Madrid/Sevilla and all around and visited the North. There were salted and cured meats everywhere - but very little fresh meat. Most things were fried and fired over and over again in the same oil for months. Most of the stores had poor selection. But, a butcher or farmer might be more willing to work with you in Spain. Tu necesitas enchufes! (You need the right connections). I'm trying to find them here where I live too. I will probably have to drive long distances - but it will be worth it.

There is so much conflicting, confusing, opposing, nonsense out there on diet, that it is difficult to talk to people about it because they have either reached information overload or they have read some diet book that said this or that.

You hear "eat veges for fibre", then someone writes a book on how fibre is destroying people.

You cannot discuss with people. They have to find out for themselves.

My background is Ayurveda which acts as my filter for information.

The problem with "science" and "research" is that it is typically funded by someone selling something.

Exactly. Money. That's the whole problem in a nutshell. The big question is how will people find out for themselves? Most people do not have a clue to go anywhere else but to their doctor who is funded by the pharmaceutical companies and have to be on medications and feel miserable for the rest of their lives. At least there is a place like this where people can talk directly to other people that have healed themselves. I think we can discuss. People are suffering, modern medicine isn't working and people are searching. I read a while back that 75% of Americans have used some form of alternative healing modality and diets are an American obsession. People want to hear what has worked for real people that they can talk to more than someone selling a book. There is a tremendous upsurgence in interest in traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic medicine. I for one would LOVE to hear how Ayurveda views salt if you would care to share your knowledge.

I'm not sure that most fruit juices are any better than other sugars except that they at least have a tiny bit of other nutrients - but what good are those nutrients if you are feeding the cancer cells more than the immune cells? When it comes to a cancer patient why take such chances except with the fruits that have been proven to have cancer killing components..... and these only work if the patient goes long enough with no sugars at all so that the cancer cells are so hungry that they are willing to take the poison with the sugar. Guess which kinds of fruits are the ones with the most scientific data backing up their anti-cancer properties -- all berries and especially raspberries. I'm sorry that I no longer have the links. The only way that these fruits become at all useful though is if the diet is otherwise devoid of other carbohydrates/sugars. If a ketogenic diet is healthy and will kill out all cancer cells anyway then with most cancers one would imagine that active cancer killing agents would not even be necessary - just the starvation of the cancer cells.

Btw - PaleoPhil is the one who first turned me onto the dangers of grains and sugars when my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and what he shared was the foundation for ridding her of it. There are many cancer cures out there, but without understanding how a cancer cell feeds itself and stopping that process, any other therapy will be an uphill battle.

oops - sorry raw-al and all.  Ganas means Desire. I've lived in the states with strong Hispanic populations and it's one of the words from Spanish that has made it into American slang in those states. Being not only a forum with members from all the states but also from around the world I should be more careful with my words.

It would take a real desire to build up the energy and focus for such a project as Dan has undertaken. It is impressive and admirable. Each project like that takes research and time and the word ganas is actually more of an appropriate expression than desire because it incorporates more of the sense of a strong will to overcome obstacles. My chickens and gardening were like that. The paleo diet is like that for me now as I'm sure aquaponics will be in the future. I'm thinking that I will start with a very small aquaponics system in order to learn the basics first hand so it is not too overwhelming - just like starting off with 3 chickens and a tiny coop. We are now expanding as it was a success. Oh - and I just have to gloat - I took 3 of my 3 hens' eggs to the Austin Bluebonnet Egg Show yesterday and won SECOND PRIZE in the white egg category. Is that a hoot or what? All these kinds of projects can be so rewarding. I have a nice little list of them at this point and together they combine to create a good deal of happiness.

Ah - then the licorice might not have been good for him as an individual maybe? Herbs can be quite particular. I've read that licorice is a hundred times sweeter than sugar (but maybe I'm remembering wrong) and that's what makes the fact that it balances the blood sugars and repairs the adrenal glands so ironic. That paired with how it can raise blood pressure and that it is such a great digestive all together without any real negatives besides lowering potassium (and maybe the male breast issue??? - but first I've heard of it) made me think of it right away for joejac. I think it is the most used herb. It's because of the sweetness and because it enhances the action of so many mixtures nicely. If it made male breasts larger generally I would think that I would have heard of that because it's in almost every herb mix so any man that took those mixtures might have that problem, so it would be surprising if it wasn't in any of the herbal literature that I have. I'm going to research that more on-line because it's a pretty serious side-affect.

I believe I read in Nora Gedgaudas' recent book Primal Body, Primal Mind that cancer cells require glucose or fructose for their metabolism, and a diet that is carbohydrate poor will literally starve them. If this is correct, it might provide a rationale for the benefits of a ketogenic diet, because a low-carb diet will necessarily reduce sugar intake.

Hi Eric.

Cancer cells use sugars poorly at 1/10 the efficiency as regular cells. They have to ferment the sugars and produce uric acid in the process. They steal the nutrition from the rest of the cells and that is why people go into cachexia and look like skeletons even if they are eating. All the energy goes to the cancer cells. People rarely die from tumors themselves - they die from malnutrition. You are absolutely correct that a diet low in sugars starves out the cancer cells. When people are trying to fight cancer if they get rid of all carbs except the fruits that have anti-cancer properties, the cancer cells now starving readily take in the sugars along with the things that kill them. For this reason diets like the grape diet for instance work. There are quite a few fruits and vegetables with active cancer killing components. Processed sugars and grains are the first thing that any decent cancer diet removes. Cancer cells cannot survive a two week long fast like regular cells can - but when a patient is already weak the fast itself can kill the patient. Taking out all carbs though still provides nutrition to the weakened immune system and the rest of the body while starving out the cancer cells.

2088
Licorice also has the side effect in males of causing breasts to grow and ultimately problems with same.

It's difficult to accurately asses on the internet because the assessment must include a lot of info which includes physical appearance.

I have not heard of this before Raw-al about males and licorice. Do you have data/links as to dosages, length taken etc. that cause these symptoms? It certainly did not happen with my husband.

Yes, of course about not being able to accurately assess over the internet - the most anyone can do is throw out ideas for the person to further investigate on their own. But perhaps joejac would like to post picture for you?

Joejac - have you ever been on a low carb diet? Have you ever not eaten fruit? I know that Spanish diet - it can be a real horror.

You can come back from adrenal exhaustion. The adrenal glands and the pancreas can heal.  I know that a tremendous part of the Spanish way of life is the baras and drinking expresso and wine/sangria. I sure hope you have been able to eradicate those from your diet as they can play real havoc on the adrenals.

2089
Joejac - I'm sure you must know this already, but just in case you don't, in the modern medical model, it is when blood pressure gets below 80 for the systolic and 40 for the diastolic that it is considered a problem. Of course what you feel is more important. At 90/50 they will start watching closely because it is cutting it close.

What did you eat before going primal that you felt ok with ...... what changed when you went primal? I thought primal eating was just a very small amount of fruits and sugars? FYI - Beets are one of the higher sugared vegetables - the juice in particular, but they also make your liver dump and scrub your gall bladder.

Part of the reason why I want Indian Runners is that they barely need water. I guess an easy to clean kiddie pool will have to suffice then.  ;)  One of the reasons that ducks are still not a definite is because people have told me how incredibly messy they are. The 5 feral cats we have are our chicken poo janitor squad. They clean up every bit of it on our walkways. I wonder what it is about the stuff that they like eating.  :o  If duck poo tastes as good as chicken poo we should be ok.

I hear that people rescue tortoises a great deal because people have no idea of what they will grow into. It doesn't surprise me that turtles also need rescuing. It seems like the best fish tank in the world and maybe like your wife did you a bit of a favor maybe?

I can't wait to see your pictures.

Meat contains salt in a form that is easier to take.

Yes, yes - of course - especially if raw it's quite digestible. My point is that all these studies regarding salt and high blood pressure and heart disease are about people that eat a high carbohydrate diet. Heart doctors these days tell people to stop eating meat and fat along with removing all salt from the diet....... and to eat more vegetables and salads. Telling them to stop eating salt and more greens is a horrible combination. Any studies that are done are also done with NaCl without any of the trace minerals intact.

None of it would really apply to a paleo diet - but man - the harm they are doing to people in general is really a shame.

I really want a few Indian Runners for the eggs (we all love duck eggs here) and was hoping to be able to build a really small pond that would be able to accommodate them and stay clean enough.

How often do you harvest the fish (if you do)? Good eating? One day maybe we could see a picture???

Thanks for that video. Inspiring. I saw him in Food Inc right? Such an incredibly cool guy.

Where I live there is this wonderful man that makes these chicken tractors for people with small amounts of land. They are on wheels so you can just pick it up and move it from place to place in your yard if you don't have a fence - and he makes bigger ones to be taken with tractors from spot to spot on a larger tract of land for the chickens to plow looking for bugs and fertilize the earth piece by piece before planting. He even makes one with a removable bed that catches all the poops that you grow your vegetables in directly. It's like a rotating chicken poop composter.

I'm amazed at how many farmers and their supporters and backyard growers like me there are around these parts that embrace these views. It's what makes it possible for me to eat RAFs. I hope it spreads everywhere.

I have fermented bison tongue and other meats that got houseflies growing on it. I ate some of the maggots. Nothing bad happened to me. When on RAFDs for a while, the whole disease germ nonsense you realize is blown way out of proportion by crazies.

How did the maggots taste Zi?

I wonder much about this whole disease germ nonsense too. I'm going to be raising black soldier fly maggots for my chickens and I would like to ask neighbors to deposit their food scraps in too and if they don't eat pristinely I wonder if that would do much of anything to the maggots. I wish there were some scientific studies I could find on the subject. The maggots seem to destroy any bad bacteria that would be in the compost to make healthy soil to grow vegetables in, but I cannot find out if any of the bacteria stays in the maggots themselves. BSFlies do not carry the diseases like houseflies do.

Just because an animal eats something that would be bad for us, but is good for them, doesn't necessarily mean that eating the animal is bad. Might be the same for bugs or even more so if they have the capability to destroy what is bad for us. Besides, if we generally eat very well, our immune systems "should" be able to handle a wide-variety of toxins/bacteria/parasites etc. Being exposed to small amounts would just make our immune systems even stronger if we are getting the nutrition we need.

There are large ant mounds in the south so getting a big meal would be fairly easy. Most species of ants do not travel long distances for food so if the area is generally pesticide free the ants should be fine. Just a tiny bit of cinnamon does get rid of ants. Many of the natural things that repel ants do so because the strong aroma interferes with their ability to communicate with one another.

At the very least it's a good thing to know about in case you get stuck in a mine or fall down a hole.  ;)

This brings up the subject of who y'all are willing to share your eating habits with. Do you tell only your most trusted friends, your health-care professionals or anyone where the subject comes up? I read in Lex's journal that although his teeth improved he wouldn't tell his dentist why. Have any members had bad results at work when it got out that they eat raw paleo? Has anyone broken off an important relationship over it? What are some of the most common reactions?

I just told my sister-in-law (one of the first times the subject came up.... because we were talking about curing cancer for one of her friends) and she said, "I'd never eat raw meat". My response was that I seemed to remember an entire rather large package of cold-smoked lox disappearing with a good deal of glee the last time she visited. Her response was, "Well, if I could live on just salmon and raspberries I'd do it."

What I like about it is that it talks a little about how you don't have to use ONLY the fish poo for feeding the plants which would drastically reduce your choices regarding what kinds of plants to grow. It's just a quick blurb of an intro.

There are probably better ways to get those few trace minerals and there are negatives, but the way that most people eat they are so deficient in the trace minerals that a whole salt can be beneficial sometimes. Sodium also is necessary - depending a lot on what you eat. People that eat a great deal of plant matter, like herbivores, do need the stuff. Deer will risk their lives to get to a salt lick and every farmer knows the importance of providing a salt block for the cattle. I betcha that most of the people here don't feel nearly as attracted to eating salt as the standard eater. I tend to think that the problem is more with the diets in general than with whole salt and if you are going to eat salt at least get those trace minerals! They are a very tiny component, but a vital one. Your points are very well-taken. I doubt on a paleo diet if much if any salt would be needed.

Oh Darn - and now I can't find that same link again. Sorry about that. When I finally do come across it I will come back and post it or send it to you directly.

But here - this you might like even more. It's a youtube video of a small shelving unit that someone used to make an quite small indoor aquaponics system in.

The size is completely contingent on how much room you have and the size of the fish you want to have. You could use prawns as they take up very little space - or even goldfish that will only grow to the size they have available (they both are extremely hardy). I don't know how goldfish taste though. The fish you choose are dependent on the temperatures. There are lots of choices.

HERE IS THE LINK:

Some people never eat the fish and raise expensive and beautiful koi - but many do and for a RAF it would be half the crop!  ;)

My outside system will be hundreds of times larger than the one in the video. The flexibility is the beauty of the thing. The more space you have the more you can grow of course. But even if you just have a small corner you can grow something.

There are big factories where they have the systems set up and people do it on tiny scales in their homes. Neat huh?

Thank you all for your wonderful suggestions.

I have learned that the local farmers in Texas always get their meats back from the butcher frozen. I found one farmer at the farmer's market that would get me unfrozen ground wild boar meat.

So far ground organic grass-fed meats with an egg yolk on top with a tiny bit of whole salt and pepper tastes very good to me even if pre-frozen, so I am working diligently to find a source of unfrozen meat without having to drive the long-distances to the processing plants. Farmers that grass feed in Texas are having a terrible time because of the extreme droughts and record high temperatures this year.

I am definitely going to try all those wonderful sauce recipes though! They sound lovely.
