Woman Swims Naked in Cold Mountain Lakes (I thought it would be Inger)

AN AMAZING WOMAN AND AN AMAZING LANDSCAPE. This short film about the joys of naked swimming in the cold mountain lakes of Snowdonia, North Wales, is a beautiful reminder of the importance of staying connected to our bodies and to nature.

Filmed, produced, and swam by fine artist Natasha Brooks, this was one of my favorite shorts at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival last weekend.

Hmm, I made a rather foolish resolution in the summer to continue swimming occasionally into the winter in one of the big ponds around Vienna, but still haven't done so. I had an older brother who used to often swim for miles in very rough seas in the summer despite having had his feet surgically removed after an accident, so I am somewhat embarassed about my lack of initiative. It is so un-palaeo to sit around most of the time.

Ah, this reminds me of the winter I spent in Canada. It was tradition for all the firefighters in the town to jump into a hole made in the ice every year to raise money and they always seemed to have lots of fun.

I am planning to swim in cold mountain river-pools and lakes. Here are a couple I will be swimming in between June and September.-
