Eating mosquitoes?

Mosquitoes are a frustrating pest. I would love it if they magically transformed into candy. I am wondering if anyone here has experience eating mosquitoes? Whether there is a high risk of disease? I know that in certain parts of Africa, folks capture mosquitoes and add them to their burgers.
