Injury Recovery
« on: June 09, 2009, 08:03:16 pm »
Anyone here had a shoulder injury?

I'm healing from one now, but am all about new info to help me along...though it seems to be making a strong comeback at the moment.

Thanx in advance!

Mines a soft tissue injury supposedly. Sucks.
Slowly healing, I'll give it a month. I actually did it at work lifting heavy gear day in day out. Work have been a pain about it.

I had a good experience going to an osteopathic manipulative doctor after a rib injury and eating a primarily raw paleo diet. You might want to look into that, while you're there they'll make sure to put ribs and vertebrae back into place as well as treat the shoulder and any other problems areas you bring to their attention.

Well, I'm doing much better at the moment, and getting better every day. I've been posting some of my workouts on facebook (where, by the way, I started a general RAF group if anyone is interested)....in January I could even hang from a pull-up bar and now I'm back to sets of between 5 and 10 reps each of chins & pulls and up to sets of 15 reps pushups.

Taking it sloooowly.

Just wondered about others' experiences in this regard - special treatments, rehab exercises, etc.

Thanx!

Check it out on Amazon.com.  It's cheap, and the information it has will help heal and prevent injury for the rest of your life.  He has another book called "Pain Free," but it's not nearly as effective as the other one.

I recently sprained my left foot:

So much better healing this time than my right arm sprain more than a year ago. This time I knew better than to tinker around with the sprain. Just dunking in iced water is enough. This time I was eating a lot of raw meat… in the previous arm sprain I had just finished experimenting with a fruitarian diet. This time I had the nutritional stores to heal faster.

Any RAF groups/blogs members come across should have their links advertised, please, so that I can place them in the relevant section for people to check over. Thanks

Off-topic, you play guitar?

My wife plays the harp.
She's obsessed with the harp right now.
She has an English harp teacher via Skype.

My 8 year old boy has the same musical gift as my wife.
He plays the piano, the recorder... and when he gets a bit bigger he will play the guitar.
