I don't know where the article got their data.  the numbers I keep seeing is about ten percent reduction.  When studies were done on going veg., the numbers for other pollutants didn't include the total damage done from start to finish..  For instance, a car creates pollutants, but manufacturing a car creates also a huge amount.  Thus the transportation numbers are really much higher than reported.   Bottom line, is the data has been incredibly distorted by groups who want to persuade.  The actual numbers are a totally different story.
