Fat & lazy -> Healthy & energized!
« on: November 05, 2009, 08:32:05 am »
Well I have been around the block a few times. I have been up and I have been down. What I want is to put in one place what I have learned and go from there.

I believe I have celiac. So far my mother has Rheumatoid Arthritis (auto immune disease) and told me today that she has both Celiac genes. I believe my father has it but has never and will never get tested for it. Due to his ethnicity and aliments I believe he does. I have been tested for celiac (blood panel and biopsied) and it has come back negative. All I know is the long list of aliments go away when I stop eating it. (stomach pain, diarrhea, bad constipation, ADD, cant sleep, cant concentrate, excezma over my entire body, nails peeling off, weight gain, severe gas, insane PMS, ovarian cysts).

When I stop eating gluten within 24 hours most of the issues are gone. I have done a lot of research about celiac. It seems the medical field doesnt really know what happens prior to having damaged villi. The tests they have now have a large degree of false negatives. All I know is I feel so much better not eating it. I am going to get the gene test done though. My daughter has been complaining about her stomach hurting as well.

I also know that I feel good with a high fat/mod protein diet. I know that I am super sensitive to carbs!! I have a few and I lose my mind!! Instant reaction of erratic energy and then the carb crash!

My goal is to see where this all leads me. Right now I am focusing on eating fatty meals- no measuring, no counting. I am eating a few low carb veggies- and the emphasis is on few. At some point they will go away.

Gotta go to bed~ more latter

Welcome. It's my view that most of the doctors and scientists have only scratched the surface and the entire human race is essentially gluten intolerant to varying degrees, not having had enough time to adapt to digesting wheat or other grains. Some people don't display obvious symptoms whereas others are debilitated by gluten.

You are correct Phil. I have read alot that, in essence, the medical field doesnt know what is going on until there is full blown celiac with sm intestinal damage. I dont need to get to that point to have someone tell what I already know. It is as simple as that.

There is also the fact that eating grains cause such adverse reaction on the metabolism side that even if I could eat them without the pain of celiac, that would be enough to stop me.

These last few weeks I had to do a lot of soul searching. Things in my life dictated that I needed to. What is funny s that fact that is wasnt food or health related. More on the side of romance if you can believe it!! :)

Meeting a good man that enjoys a woman (me) and my lady curves is amazing to have in my life! No I am not happy on any level with the state of my health and weight, but it is nice to have someone love me just the same.  And he loves me even with the 'Im an ass kicker' attitude! :) He understands my sheepdog tendencies as he is one as well.

But all this blathering about a man is leading me to this~ I want my outside to match my inside. I want to match the inner strength I have with outer strength. I want to have the female warrior body to match the female warrior mind.

The plan of action?
  • nutrition- eat VLC to ZC, it is how I feel best
  • exercise- going back to the gym to do 5 compound exercises 3x a week until further changes needed
  • have to give up the dairy- makes my head stuffy

So far that is it. Not too much to overwhelm but to get started.

Some more details of THE PLAN
What to eat? Meat- I have a huge thing for pulled pork right now. I cant eat enough. I make it so I know what is in it. Every morning I have an egg omelet with bacon and cheese plus some extra butter. When I get done with the cheese I am going to end it. I think I have a thing with dairy right now, maybe I can eat it again later. Plus the heavy cream. I think I may have to end the relationship for a little while. After my coffee I feel like I have a sinus infection for a few hours. I will drink tea instead.

Sleep- make sure I get enough of it. That is usually one area of my life that I take care of. When I am tired I go to sleep. Getting up earlier I have to make sure to get to bed earlier. God- I hate dailylight savings!! It is pitch black out there!!

This is what I am doing for exercises:
   1. Barbell Squats, 3 sets 5 reps each set
   2. Bench Press, 3 sets 5 reps each set
   3. Deadlifts, 3 sets 5 reps each set
   4. Overhead Press, 3 sets 5 reps each set
   5. Pendlay Rows, 3 sets 5 reps each set
3 times a week
I am starting off real light and working up. I am not going to hurt myself or get too sore that I cant move.

You are in a community here of people who eat raw meat and animal foods - raw paleolithic diet. So raw omelet, raw bacon, etc ?  ;)
