Nice to hear (read) someone agrees
I agree to a point. Martial arts are
ARTFORMS as much as combat skills. And sometimes it is through the beauty of perfectly executed moves that we find an inner peace and confidence that does not so easily come when dynamically training for surprise attacks all the time. And the breath. Breathing in slowly and executing with a deliberate and powerful exhale is probably more important than worrying about which technique is better! And unless you train for years, how can you ever act with instinct and power? I believe it is important to study an art for sometime until moving on. It is like languages and fluency. How good can you be in performing when all you know is bits and pieces of this and that form?
