GS, why don't you simply put one of those permanent golden boxes where it says "donate to paypal" on both rawpaleodiet.com and rawpaleoforum with an empty box to put one's paypal-info in? That way, people can donate whenever they want in their own time, at $1 or $2 each time - should easily cover all costs re site-maintenance.

$3,000.01 USD - $10,000.00 USD    2.5% + $0.30 USD
$10,000.01 USD - $100,000.00 USD    2.2% + $0.30 USD

When someone donates a dollar, 2.9 cents + 30 cents will not go to GS, but to paypal as a fee.  I don't know whether you knew.  Maybe he has a different deal.

I had no idea. But I assume that paypal forces the same fee for sending money via e-mail as well.

Still, the fee is not insurmountable. And $2-$3 dollars every so often from a handful of members would easily be enough to cover all costs, I'd imagine.

Re issue of paypal cuts, I don't think they charge for donations.

They do charge me a hefty percentage when I bill my customers through paypal.

In order to get the free of charge donations, you need to establish legally, lawyer involved as far as I know, that you are a charity or a non-profit.  I know.  We tested a small donation with them within the family, and paypal did take cuts.

But I assume that paypal forces the same fee for sending money via e-mail as well.

I think paypal is always through email.  I meant that.  Sorry I didn't write it.
