Eating Raw Eggs with or without egg white?
« on: June 22, 2010, 07:04:36 pm »
I know raw eggs are really good, yet would it better if I separate the yolk and just consume with yolk without the egg white? After reading this, http://www.marksdailyapple.com/drinking-raw-eggs/ , I'm concerned about causing a biotin deficiency if i eat raw eggs everyday. What do you guys think I should do? Is it necessary to consume the egg white?

I only consume egg yolks. Egg whites are untasty and have got enzyme inhibitors.

I ate complete raw eggs for months without problems. This biotin deficiency is just a theory and nobody has realistically proven it yet.

Some people report allergies/intolerance to eggs but that's a different thing and usually from unfertilized eggs.

I regularly eat whole raw eggs. The whole biotin deficiency idea is not true. It’s true that it can cause a deficiency if you only eat the whites but the yolk contains biotin so any anti-nutrients concerning biotin are illegitimate.

Have a look here:
Raw eggs whites and yolks
Cause and effect are distant in time and space in complex systems, while at the same time there’s a tendency to look for causes near the events sought to be explained. Time delays in feedback in systems result in the condition where the long-run response of a system to an action is often different from its short-run response. — Ronald J. Ziegler
