Your position doesn't sound very consistent, Low. If you believe microbes cause disease then you probably shouldn't be eating raw flesh.
Raw milk is like any other food digestible for some, not so much for others. The "disease" that accompanies raw milk sometimes is due to poor habits or some prior weakness in the consumer, it's not the milk's fault.
Besides, government bureaus like to play dirty. I am intimately connected with the Hartmann E. coli case here in MN and the family got tests done on the same batch of dairy that the government took samples of for testing and found no E. coli.
I don't know what the truth is, but government intervention is never a good thing and that is why it's important to know and trust your farmer. Don't buy from someone who takes shortcuts or has poor quality animals.
