butter oil
« on: July 30, 2012, 02:03:07 am »
why is the green pastures butter oil almost 2x more expensive than the cod liver oil? Why is butter oil better than just butter? why would it be better than just eating the same amount of butter that contained the butter oil?

It's Centrifuged processed, which filters out the impurities in the butter, compared to simmering like ghee. It has more of the factor X vitamin due to the fast growing grass, and select style of grass they grow/use. It's constantly growing due to irrigation. It just cost more to produce. It's much more concentrated than regular pasture raised butter. How much more concentrated, that is the million dollar question. The question is how much regular pastured butter must you eat, to get the same amount of factor X in green pasture butter oil?  It's up to you to decide if it's worth it to you. If you eat a lot of butter, I wouldn't stress over it!

Centrifuged raw butter. It's the oilier part of the butter, specifically the least-saturated part of the fat, I believe. Dr. Price came up with it back in the 30s, as a way to concentrate the nutrition found in butter for easy mass consumption.
