SCD legal iodine
« on: April 26, 2013, 04:49:00 am »
Hello. I'm looking for a SCD legal iodine.

So far, those on the BTVC-SCD yahoo group suggested _ http://www.bodybio.com/storeproduct417.aspx - body bio iodine.

But you guys know about "lugios?" What are the ingredients? What's a good source? How much iodine per drop?

I'd rather do lugios, but I need to know it's 1) scd legal and 2) some kind of nutrition label like what's on the link above.

Thanks Jessica. People on the BTVC-SCD yahoo group told me Lugios is toxic?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lugol%27s_iodine

"Because it contains free iodine, Lugol's solution at 2% or 5% concentration without dilution is irritating and destructive to mucosa, such as the lining of the esophagus and stomach. Doses of 10 mL of 5% solution have been reported to cause gastric lesions when used in endoscopy. [14] The lethal dose of free iodine for an adult human of 2 to 3 grams (2000-3000 mg) free iodine represents 40 to 60 mL (less than 2 fluid ounces) of 5% Lugol's solution."

So which lugols do you recommend? Is there one at a good price online that's just distilled water and iodine/iodide?

i bought/use the j crows 5%.  its a one ounce tincture that is seriously like a few hundred servings.

make sure you read about the other supplements they recommend you take along with the iodine, I am pretty sure you are good on the b's and c, but you may need to add some selenium and mag glycinate, which are both relatively inexpensive.

and also read up on how to start taking doses, I followed that for the first week and then uped the dose a bit faster because i didn't have any symptoms besides increased energy.  at a month and a half i take about 2/3 drops a day now, i feel like i want to do some days where i take a lot, and then days where i take none, i notice my craving for dulse, which is high iodine, is diminishing.

I don't want to start off by mega dosing the iodine. I'm going to try the J. Crows 2% Lugols Iodine.

Is there anywhere I can see a nutrition analysis of it? That will tell me how much per drop, how many drops, etc?

HI. First post here. Someone posted on a thread this video about paleo diet and a woman who recover from a hard degenerative issue. Interesting stuff  Minding Your Mitochondria: Dr. Terry Wahls at TEDxIowaCity

She talks about the role of Iodine on the brain/body and how she eats Seaweed for it.....but i think they arenĀ“t legal SCD foods cause they are polisacharides....

Anyway...can you say me if lettuce is not a polysacharide and why it is a legal SCD food?

Lettuce is mainly simple sugars. However it has a lot of fiber.
