Curious? Is rawpaleodiet not in accordance with Kosher laws?
« on: November 29, 2013, 02:59:20 am »

The above article does seem to indicate that the various preparations required do not conform with eating raw meats, or at least make it extremely difficult. Anybody here who eats "kosher" but still  manages to be raw and also palaeo? I am just curious because I vaguely recall one cooked-palaeodieter mention that he ate kosher-style.

In a lot of ways a raw diet could be partially Kosher. Ie. the animal foods could all be from animals eating exclusively non animal foods (ie. beef, buffalo, lamb, horse etc. eating grass) and slaughtered according to Kosher laws. But I don't see how they'd get around the blood in raw meat even if it was drained very well.

This must be important to this very small group of people / religion.  Why would it be important for the rest of us?  Are there any advantages to adhering to these guide lines?

No. A Kosher diet is just as unhealthy as any other, in fact possibly more so due to cooking foods heavily to eliminate blood which would increase the amount of heat created toxins produced (as well as oxidized fats, cholesterol, etc).

Oh right, you have to cook it to get rid of the blood. Then kosher is not in accordance with the rawpaleodiet. I just wondered if it was as it is such a needlessly complicated  dietary regime. And no, GS, I was not suggesting that people try it, it was just that I read a passage from Tony Robbins re kosher meat supposedly being tasteless due to the lack of  blood in it, so I just wondered if kosher was compatible with rawpaleodiet guidelines.
