Health / How much should you really be eating?
« on: May 13, 2015, 04:19:05 am »
How do you guys know when your hungry and how many times a day should we really be eating for optimal health? I've heard that your stomach growling is not a sign of hunger, but rather your intestines telling your body they don't want food and want to cleanse, and that a dry taste in your throat is a sign of hunger. Back in the day we didn't drink water so much to quench thirst, we would hydrate through foods.

I've also heard that juicing is not very good for you as the body was not meant to take in an abnormal amount of nutrients at once, and the juicing high you get is your bodies way of handling an overdose of a substance, similar to how we create mucus to protect against toxins from onions or too much sugar.

Health / Starting to eat raw meat, need advice on storage, etc..
« on: December 29, 2014, 11:34:01 am »
I've just started to eat raw meat, can anyone give me some advice on how to store the meat and fat? Right now they are in an open plastic container and a white mold has grown on some of the lamb fat that is touching the bottom. Some of the meat looks dehydrated after a week of storage and parts of the beef that are touching plastic surface has brownish goo and a little yellow on it. Is this normal and safe to eat? What proportions should I eat if I'm new to raw meat. I'm 5'10 180 pounds. Can I combine the meat and fat with any other foods for better digestion, or are they best eaten together/alone? What are their digestion/transit times? Anything else I should know before I dive into RPD? I want to minimize any issues that may pop up while I slowly make this change in my diet. I currently eat lots of cooked meat with salads, Raw eggs, dairy, honey, coconut milk, occasionally sprouted nuts, and fruit.

Aajonus Vonderplanitz said that any form of concentrated sodium is bad for humans. What about mixing water with Himalayan salt? I haven't done much research but it seems like if you dilute Himalayan salt with water it can replenish electrolytes without taxing the bodies organs and systems.

Health / Food and techniques for better eye sight
« on: October 24, 2014, 06:44:58 am »
My vision has been fading for about 7 years now...I've heard of eye exercises and eating the right foods to improve vision. Does anyone know any special techniques, foods,  or secrets that will help improve my eye sight. At this point I'm about 20/400. Has anyone tried cutting out sugar or salt to improve vision?

Health / Powdered Supplements and Foods
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:45:18 am »
Does anyone know how well the body handles powdered supplements and foods? ie. Probiotic supplements, whey protein, garden of life meal, powdered acai, powdered fruits, seeds, and proteins. Does the body recognize this as real food and digest it normally or will it think it's foreign and cause inflamation/indigestion?

Health / Harmless harvest raw coconut water
« on: September 02, 2014, 07:57:37 am »
Is harmless harvest 100% raw coconut water a good brand of coconut water? Are you truly getting the same health benefits from it as if you were to drink water straight from a coconut? Is coconut water even worth drinking? It's a product of Thailand but organic.
